  1. Mowbray said all the right stuff for the first few years but as we know he became a master at altering his own narrative to suit. That became one of the most annoying things about the guy himself he went from realist to self preserving billy bullhitter almost overnight once he'd reached his ceiling a few years ago. It went on 2 years too long but it's gone now i think the way people are reacting shows that. Doesn't matter how much he was liked in general for doing a steady job the overall feeling is this is a fresh start. It's overdue and i suspect the feeling inside the club is very similar so lets crack on.
  2. That's a big old backroom staff it just goes to show what has to be brought in and paid for even in a middle of the road championship clubs these days. Frightening and impossible to sustain for most clubs without outside backing. Hopefully it starts to be a well oiled machine but i 100% expect BBD will be being touted around now to help pay for all this.
  3. Got to hope there has been sensible provision made this time should the worst happen. I suspect Mowbray had a pretty tight contract that would have cost big to remove him. Given his stock was high and the owners thought he was the messiah when he signed his extension. Besides JDT might have inserted a Lambert style clause....
  4. This is a different direction it genuinely is the start of a new journey so lets give it a fair chance the guy will need to find his feet in this league. Those running the club need to back this new set up 110% not just decide they've done their bit now and ignore it for another 3 years. The next step should be sorting a boardroom setup who want to push the club forwards, want to re engage with a large swath of the irregular fanbase. And have the actual gumption how to do it.
  5. HSH will have somebody on standby ready to do it for 200k a year without asking for any staff or budget. This still has a feel to it of how we ended up with Coyle.
  6. How can the people responsible for this be seen to be justifying their wages by their big bosses who are supposedly astute business people ? Season ticket sales have fallen year on year under Waggot ever since he stepped through the door. Despite a promotion and relative stability, so we end up with year on year price hikes to try and cover the shortfall. Absolutely cutting our own throats it's like someone wants to kill the match going fanbase to the bare minimum on purpose.
  7. Yet all three left because they were too good for here and brought in ten million combined. All 3 have prospered since they left compared to treading water here.
  8. If the fella has drive and hunger that he can pass across to the squad and is less focused on just keeping everybody happy then it should be an instant improvement. Tactically he just needs to be competent but he does need to be really astute in the transfer market. Then again he might well have no say in that with the new set up. Pray he knows how to set up a defense though as that's where we'll have to start....again !
  9. Not against JDT he could be an interesting appointment you never really know until they are here doing their stuff. Then it usually quickly becomes clear which way it'll go. My main concern on this if it should happen is how it has come about. You've got a club seemingly courting all sorts of names and most with a big more pedigree or championship experience yet getting nowhere. Then you have a guy out of work for 6 months trying to get back in the game at a good level but got nowhere after pitching himself for other jobs. In other words nowhere near each others first choices, not a great fit is it really.
  10. They want a foreign coach just for the sake of it and whilst a smokescreen of interesting names was thrown up they've been beavering around in the cheaper Scandanavian market by looks of it. Now it's a straight shootout between the likes of JDT or British inexperienced and cheap coach to step up. Woodgate would absolutely reek of the continuing Boro connection that seemingly now lives under the surface at Ewood. Miss out or get turned down by JDT there really is nowhere else to go but Ferguson, Woodgate or the HSH scrapheap. We could end up there anyway all by design after a month of the usual smoke and mirrors.
  11. The fans just like promotion has never been much of a consideration under this ownership. Helped it seems by some of the people they employ knowing they get paid the same whatever. So expectation, costs and hassle are easier to manage the less turn up and similar low income can be maintained by constant price rises to cover it. It's a controlled orchestrated gradual downgrade that's easier to implement than gradual sustained growth. That gradual sustained growth should have started after league 1 promotion on the back of a 3-5 year plan. Instead we are fast resembling a league 1 club in the Championship off the pitch.
  12. Not only were crowds the highest they'd been for a while under Allardyce due to some sensible ticket initiatives but the club was still sustainable for the time being. Losing c5 mill a season and managing its wage bill whilst looking towards a new tv deal to boost income even further. It certainly wasn't all rosy obviously as the gaff was up for sale by the ingrate offspring and being hawked around by a spiv. However lets not have the usual revisionists altering it to fit their narrative as usual as at that point in time things weren't bad at all. We were probably only a decent percentage football center forward away from regular top ten finishes again. We only owed the overdraft, still had players with value beyond the debt and were run by people who specialized in having this club punching above its weight.
  13. They shouldn't overvalue it either in an area like this which essentially is the point they've gone beyond now to a lot of people.
  14. Look at the stupid ticket pricing for matches last season then the climb downs plus some of the idiotic 'bundle' deals. If the club want cost cutting they should start with this berk, only in this stupid industry do people get employed to sit there and come up with ideas that go against everything that is actually needed. He would perhaps be better suited working for the Govt than what used to be a big club in a small town but has now very purposely been shrunk to match its surroundings.
  15. Is he the reason they don't do the odd quid a kid games anymore ? Don't recall any of those for a while but maybe this guy is ahead of the curve trying to empty Ewood and get the next gen signed up to watch on their phones. After they've watched Liverpool and City of course. Or maybe he's just another useless out of touch prick whose paper qualifications defy his actual lack of proven track record ? I remember using Hull City a season or two ago as an example of why our crowds weren't that bad, looking at a club from a far bigger city. Who'd gone from 20k gates to around half that under stupid ownership, all makes sense now if they employ plumbs like this one.
  16. I wish mate ! Took an evening off stressing about Rovers to watch the boxing but stuck to coffee ( 1 can of Punk IPA doesn't count ) Coming on here before bed isn't a good recipe for sleep though once you read about some of the goons down there.
  17. That employee should be sacked on the spot if anything screams we are just here for a wage it's those type of comments. Disgusting to be honest, a complete half arsed lazy bastard attitude and this is why i couldn't dialogue with people there, i'd end up arrested.
  18. Can i suggest you suggest to them to pull their fingers out and actually communicate properly and regularly with their fanbase like normal clubs do. It would save Waggots appointment book getting unreasonably full, in between your chats to him of course.
  19. He wasn't backed at a crucial time but he didn't make the best or correct use of the backing he had. That bit is on him no matter how many other excuses get offered he was allowed to bring in 4 players -- at a crucial time. That's why he'd never be anything other than the bang average guy he was there isn't much evidence to suggest he'd have been successful with 5 million quid in January.
  20. Well Waggot can't blame covid for this seasons drop off so god knows what he'll offer up to hide behind this time. His resignation would be nice.
