No it isn't what i'm asking for did i say that ? Since when had he been a 15 goal a year striker ? You fell down the rabbit hole of holding him up as a beacon of a good player because he runs around a lot - sometimes. That is a minimum requirement for any player, Jack Vale runs around a lot poaches the odd goal, defends from the front when asked and costs about 3 grand a week probably. Replacing Gallagher like for like for not much would be a piece of piss for somebody who knows what they are doing. Replacing Gallagher the big athletic striker who scores 10 plus a season for nothing wouldn't be so easy. But he isn't that Gallagher really is he and smart people would cash in those chips if possible even if it meant putting the money towards keeping BBD. This is what Directors of Football are for and this is how you rebuild squads with the minimum of disruption. Far less disruption than losing Brereton or Dack in this case, Gally is a saleable asset albeit a much reduced in value one and 15 grand a week is a lot to free up. Think about it logically, i hope Broughton and JDT are. -

As a 5 million pound investment on probably 15 grand a week who'll probably be another leaving for nothing in a few seasons i disagree. I'd say it is a problem and one that could be solved by actually getting some money back if we can, freeing up the wages and using it wisely. He'd be the perfect one to kick start the Brentford model if we could find someone to buy him. -
Bradley Dack - Twist or Stick?

Golden chances ? Second one he should have done better but he was almost on the line and he isn't Benni McCarthy. First one if it's the header your referring to he made a great little run and it was a good ball in, a rare moment of creativity. He was running away from goal towards the ball though and that took him wide of goal never in a thousand years is he getting his head around that. Credit for the movement but neither were golden chances. -

Personally i'd have agents out and about trying to get a couple of million for Gallagher. If replacing him is hard then football truly has gone to the dogs but if someone was looking to be smart he'd be the first one i was looking to trade. -

Iv'e been a defender of Gallagher at times but days like today make it nigh on impossible. He should be leading the line but he was the first to put his head down and go hiding imo. He's not alone though in most of the away games this season often in front of good away followings they are not fighting for the shirt/club/fans and certainly not the head coach. He spends half his time hiding himself anyway the body language is pathetic i just knew looking at him today when we went two nil down it would go from bad to worse and he'd offer nothing from the sidelines. -

The stuff on the field and some of the things he says don't back that up. -

Mowbray changed things after that, he also changed things after he felt the heat in the first game of that season at Ewood. This mon won't because he doesn't know how to all we hope for is some kind of reaction from the players and a goal from Brereton. Can't see that arriving before the Wigan game at home if i'm honest. -

Gallagher has had some good performances under JDT but as we know and he will well know by now in most games he offers zero goal threat starting in the positions he does. He's a ten goal a season forward not Chris Brown but like any other bug dolloper if he isn't played in a position to be served with chances you might as well play the reserve keeper there. -

Well we now have a highly regarded DoF, recruitment bloke and dept so money is invested there so i expect to see some sort of return on it. Starting in this window otherwise what is the point of it, seriously what do think the team will actually be by 2025 ? Some sort of Fulham Brentford or Bournemouth all because they are planning it now in Brockhall having written off this season ? Give it a wobble pal we'll be still the same then as now, all they really want to do is fill it with kids from the academy and beyond to increase its book value. Anybody worth anything or on more than ten grand will be gone. -

Yeah his assurances will be he won't get sacked if he toes the line and the owners like him. Hence constant project talk, shrugging of shoulders and laughing and joking with his mummified right hand man at two or three nil down. -

That team sent out today was more than capable of getting something. If you think they are sat in Brockhall looking at the team in two years time i politely suggest you need your bumps feeling. Anything can and will happen between then and now and when we have finished 8th then got ourselves 3rd the following season it is time to strike whilst the iron is hot. If you are sold on the shoulder shrugging jam tomorrow from these lot i'll again politely suggest that is part of the problem here. -

I'm amazed we still retain that kind of away support given what it gets back for its time and money investment. Some teams who get relegated will have better away form than us. -

It's a crazy league we know that but again it isn't the loss it's the end result and overall combination of errors on our part. Got to give Rotherham credit but would you expect anything other than a tough day physically from a team fighting for survival ? In order to get results from games like that or most away games in this division you have to match their desire physical stuff. We never do that's why you know 100% go a goal behind there'll be nothing from us we just keep trying the powder puff stuff then wilt. If Hyam clears his lines as he so easily should have done then we aren't a goal behind but he likely might have earned a shout from the sidelines not to do that. He tried to lay it off on the edge of his own area and didn't get it right, that's stuff drilled into them on the training ground and a hallmark of JDTs style. -

There are no more issues at the club than any other in this division i wish that myth wouldn't keep getting dragged up. We now have a structure in place, a half decent squad and have spent more than many this season. Sometimes you just have to accept a team can only be as good as who is coaching and managing it for the games it's playing. Where did i mention relegation ? You've switched from promotion now to that when neither is on the cards in the near future. Bland nothingness is where we'll be living again. -

That Remmy fella look like Venus mk2 sat starring into space all game whatever is happening. When the camera cuts on them at 2 0r 3 nil down all slumped there whilst Tomasson seems to be having a laugh and a joke i'm not sure it sends a good message to anyone. You are judged more as a leader with what you do and say in difficult times and every time we start losing there is nothing comes from that dugout. Flat track bullies, get a goal up and suddenly everyone becomes involved, go one behind and nobody takes it by the balls on or off the pitch. Worst thing is nobody looks like they want to, are capable of doing or even gives a shit. -

Yet again nobody mentioned promotion and it's bizarre you keep bringing it up. JDT has told you it's a project and Broughton has told you it's about increasing squad value. There is simply no getting away from the fact that for at least the tenth time this season so far that was abject clueless rubbish that once that first goal went in was only going to end one way. Despite league position there have been far more red flags this season than green shoots, another 12 months of this project and i'm seriously worrying. -

As i pointed out the same was said about Mowbray but now a novice in English football has us 3rd. So who i want is totally irrelevant and a change needn't and doesn't alter the longer term strategy of the club. In case nobody noticed we now have a DoF and that is his job, JDT is a head coach and they are far more dispensible and easier replaced than a manager. One thing i would have liked was a clear out of the backroom staff because we have the same routines as we did going back to when Bowyer was here. You cannot rebuild or redirect anything properly hanging onto old habits that have never delivered anything. -

That's not what i was saying and you know it cut the hysterics. Who expects promotion ? Nobody but when you finish 8th you are entitled to expect to try and build on that. He has enough - more than enough - at his disposal to come up with better than that abject pathetic effort today. Ask the numerous away followers i know who are now saying that's me done on the road i'm not wasting time and money and this. Look at the home gates, there is no belief in this 'project' it's just prep for more water treading and there is very little belief in it on the pitch either that much is evident. The only ultimate goal is to have the book value of the squad raised with little outlay -

Thing is i said under TM in the last 2 years when the usual crowd were giving it 'but who else is there' nonsense this league is completely bread and butter. You don't have to be Pep or Klopp to have a team punching above its weight, outside of the parachute gang there probably isn't a better club to be at than Rovers. That has shown with the arrival of JDT who is clearly as green as the grass when it comes to English football. Yet him, his nobody coach and the collection who've been on the gravy train here years have us 3rd. Despite some of the worst football since Appleton and the most weak pathetic efforts since Coyle. So whilst it might understandably seem crazy to pull the trigger replacing him isn't as big a deal as some like to portray. Lets be honest he's fucking clueless we are 3rd because we have BBD and one or two - literally one or two - others. -

Indefensible that. They say a team reflects its gaffer well Tomasson was a piss weak player and that is what this team is both physically and mentally. -

But if you put some of that stuff together and you know what you are doing you can make it work like a fine dining experience. Some would just throw their arms in the air and moan they can't afford to dine out so just keep adding cheap ingredients and wonder why it's still crap. -

A Nicky Reid would do in midfield, not the tallest, ran around a lot, not a great passer and rarely scored or assisted but He was solid as a rock, won his tackles and picked 2nd balls and gave them to the guys who could do something with them. That's what we need when we haven't got a budget to do better.
