  1. Drink the coffee, look into his eyes and you are done for, before you know it you'll be agreeing with 500 quid STs and selling every fixed asset.
  2. He doesn't look a happy camper under JDT which isn't good seeing as we are supposed to be developing players not regressing them. Mind you when Mortan is first pick for league games and Mola is getting in the side it's no wonder.
  3. Upper tier above home fans now i think.
  4. Well if we could whack down half a million in one go then negotiate add ons etc and he wants to come here it might be a goer. Trouble is i'm sure a few others would jump at that so then you're talking into the million plus bracket in one instalment before add ons and the like. I'm sure Mowbray and his mega tanker would be in the mix as well for a cheap down payment.
  5. It would probably cost that amount to loan him that figure is an absolute fantasy in terms of transfer fee.
  6. There is a fear that someone will convince them he's the next BBD. I'd be checking the agent trail on this one should that happen.
  7. Coins and vapes etc banned, guess who caused that, i bet you'll never get it....?
  8. Hitlab ? Is that Akon again ?
  9. What i see in Hirst is a raw kid who doesn't look 23 or someone who has had a few years pro level football. It's a really odd one because he has some occasional good touches but to me he just doesn't look physically ready he needs games elsewhere or U23s. I know guys develop at different stages sometimes and he sure looks like he could use some mon strength so maybe it'll still come. Late bloomer ? Who knows but for what he's offering us we can't wait around and at 23 it's looking a long shot he is up to Championship standard football. If he was one of our own we'd be saying he needs a full season in league one but surely they won't pay money for him then loan him out ? The DoF isn't looking too sharp on this one or Mola i have to say.
  10. Pears made at least 3 excellent saves that kept Rovers in the game and he was comfortable throughout, couldn't do anything about the freekick deflection. This cup run has allowed him to put the Wigan nightmare behind him plus he's another year on in his development and working with Tommy K in training.
  11. I saw plenty effort last night from most of them but we were chasing shadows at times which you might have expected. One or two of them looked nervous and didn't want to take any responsibility though. Despite what we might think in terms of disappointment it is still good game time for some of them which is important. They've stretched their legs against two Prem sides in the last two rounds. Out of the two Forest are clearly taking it more seriously as we saw on the pitch and in the stands last night.
  12. There was notably far less messing at the back last night which was good to see although too often when the wing backs do get space their first thought seems to be pass backwards. Completely counter productive for the wing back idea in the first place in my book. Forest simply went old school, oh look they are weak on their left and we have a guy who can play like an old school right winger, bingo there you go. Sometimes it's the simple things that are most effective and that's getting increasingly lost in the stat obsessed develop players first, results second modern game.
  13. Yep same argument a few regularly made in defence of TM He got all the calls right v Norwich and last night on the pitch he's letting a young side learn the ropes as opposed to turning out a stronger side. We paid the price, end of but it was one of his senior pros who let the side down in a way we wouldn't expect, can't legislate for that. Obviously v Burnley and the other lot he got the big calls badly wrong so for most the jury remains firmly out.
  14. A 4 if ever there was one and that's with a bonus point for scoring.
  15. Not blaming him too much tonight there was always going to be wholsesale changes which i think was right. We still managed to see one key player limping off who'd only come on as a sub. These games are a lottery if you want to keep a fit squad and do well in the league. So players get their chance to stake a claim but not many did tonight, the gaffer can't be blamed for the rucks Wharton made which cost the goals. What he can and needs to do though is get to grips with the fact Mola and Hirst are nowhere near the required standard. We've seen enough now.
  16. He had Van Hecke last season as well who covered his arse and others an awful lot but i think by and large hes been poor this season. Tonight he's out there as one of the senior pros to lead by example but he was diabolical and it was individual errors not Forest being so much better. Just doesn't seem switched on at all at times. Pears by contrast was excellent there could be a keeper in there yet.
  17. 24/7 athletes these days and when they aren't on the grass a lot of them will be in the gym, even at home. That's how they are brought up through academies and all this stuff they shove down is just par for the course. No doubt their bodies end up craving it.
  18. Mowbray will have his one in 5 or 6 ratio front foot pressing all out games here i can see it coming. Despite the Norwich performance iv'e not much belief we'll go about this one any other way than the usual fannying about at the back. The early tv slot has ruled me out but probably saved me a fortune and a lot of disappointment, credit to all who go. Mowbray 3 Rovers 1
  19. Scott Wharton i'm appalled at that performance tonight, utter shite he played like a novice goal aside.
  20. If this was a home league game against Forest in the Champ at discounted 12 quid tickets there'd be at least a 5k walk up plus ST holders. That puts into perspective of where we are at with this, i want to win and have another go but i want to do it with as little risk as possible to those players we rely on in the league. Strongest team possible and 3 points v Sunderland and/or Boro way way outweighs this one for me.
  21. Lower prices in league games HAVE worked there is no argument to be had on that. Cheaper tickets tonight WILL work there'll be 7k away fans and hopefully a similar number of home fans get off their backsides and get behind THEIR fucking team. If it wasn't cheap you'd be looking at 7k total attendance instead of 12k, so again no argument to be had. This is Blackburn and these are the gates we get for these fixtures those crying out there won't be 15 thousand home fans on need some kind of therapy. Our active fanbase now due to a number of factors is twelve thousand and they won't all turn up for this. Neither will thousands of part timers or lapsed fans it's a carawhatever cup game it isn't glamorous opposition in the slightest and it isn't the quarter finals or the semi finals. I don't recall the gates being spectacular when we were a Prem team on the way to the final either until the business end of the competition. I do recall our active fanbase being being double what it is now and the tickets being cheap.
  22. Ask them where the other 4000 have been for the last decade.
  23. I'm happy with Edun and Garret playing, a few of these lads will have scouts watching for potential loan moves so hopefully an incentive. Especially if they don't want to leave here. Not sure what side Forest will turn out it's not like they are short of options bur i'd hope for a much changed side from them. No bad thing they were the best side bar Fulham to come here last season. Rovers 1 Forest 1 Pens..... 11,189
  24. Didn't they build it up then more or less write it off again because of the brexit issues ? Either way it's good that they are building it up but as @roversfan99says it doesn't always mean much under this ownership. We've hung onto a Prem set up behind the scenes then smashed it to bits cost cutting and lost any number of good staff. Then it's been semi built up again probably costing a small fortune only to see them leaving again bit by bit. So now it's about version number 4 only difference is it (should) be being overseen by a proper DoF, first time for everything but hold onto your hats.
