  1. With the intense play required of the front men by this coach there'll be tired legs need resting so that's when Dack will come in.
  2. We should have a Mercers Red Thread every time we win, see how many different ones he can get through in a season.
  3. I think it was early in Dyches reign they were booing them off after a nil nil at the turd in front of 9 or 10 thousand. Take no notice of Burnley half their support these days is plastic even a lot of them will admit it. Pendle Hill is still available should they need it though, meanwhile 19k would be great at Ewood but we'd still have ten thousand plus empty seats. Therefore we'd still get the usual abuse. can't win.
  4. Standard BBC if they aren't blowing smoke up one of the big boys or doing a bit of virtue signalling towards some latest fad they are lost.
  5. They are after building on what was here rather than rip up and start again which is 100% the right approach. That's why it won't look much different at times but it was clearly evident today there is a desire to ramp it up instead of tone it down.
  6. Nobody will come here to work for these lunatics be careful what you wish for, give Tony a 5 year extension !
  7. We played quite well down there last season but got beat by ten men if i recall correctly. Today everything that was missing in the fine detail of that game was actually there today. Plenty of nous from the sidelines to go with the effort and players carrying out the gameplan to perfection. Great start, all the hard work to come but i think it's evident now this won't turn into a Coyle scenario.
  8. Patience. We are still playing a team that always dominates possession same as last season.
  9. Agreed. If you look at the injuries he suffered all these niggles and strains etc probably because he was rushed too early. The lad had serious pace and worked hard but no positional sense at all. Needed that proper development but they stuck him on a 5 year nice contract, he was out in Preston with his pals every weekend. Struggled with the weight of it all and became more interested in his life outside football.
  10. Didn't loan academy lads out enough back then imo They seemed to throw anyone half decent into the first team squad (there weren't many)to try and justify the academy. It stunted their development then we were either stuck with them or they fell away. We seemed to churn out a string of kids going to lower league clubs for a few grand whilst hopefully waiting for the next Jones. Meanwhile Lowe, Henley etc were stuck on 5 year contracts where we then had to try and justify them in the first team.
  11. Doing the right thing with Markanday get him fit and let him earn his way in. He cost about 500k plus add ons not 7 million so i'm not expecting this potential worldie if i'm honest.
  12. Well it's a fitness guy they are after to replace the one whose left so separate to those two i'd assume.
  13. I'll always have him down as a tosser for sitting on his contract here but his agents and Mowbray are equally as bad for allowing it. And that goon of a ceo. However both being of lge 1 or 2 ability there is no way Lowe is better, non. Smallwood captained Hull to winning lge 1 i think ? Then staying up in the Champ and he was everything Lowe wouldn't have been in lge 1 for us. Lowe was beyond useless in our relegation season then was on a free and only perennial crisis club Brum were interested were he predictably flopped quickly. Then only crisis club and skint Bolton were interested where he played in their worst side in recent history before dropping again to Salford. Thank god those days are gone and thank god for the academy.
  14. Surely Performance coach and technical coach can't be poles apart when it comes to the day to day stuff ? Maybe they are expanding it or maybe slightly altering it in which case i'd keep a close eye on it they could ease a few out as time goes on. Must be costing an absolute fortune now the backroom stuff.
  15. If Bowyer had one major flaw here it was this but the club had got him on a contract where he was too expensive not to play i think. Someone had convinced them there'd be a big sale fee involved at some point.
  16. JPVH was better in one season here than Duffy was in his entire time.
  17. A lot ? No, just the minority he had were very noisy ones who camped on here night and day.
  18. The way Rothwell played last season helped us shed off the possession football the manager had foisted on us out of nowhere. Finally a move on from the likes of Evans, Trybull etc so for that he should have had our thanks. I don't want to see it return.
  19. Only in short spells but that's probably what we'd expect of a young player. Should have been put out of his false nine misery once it wasn't happening for him anymore. Came to life again once moved to his more natural role so hopefully a bit stronger and consistent this season. Great little player in the making.
  20. Obviously a different type but will serve the side better imo.
  21. Plonked in these cities the likes of Sheff and Swansea know they'll still get 15k+ turning up paying whatever, especially early games when hope is high. Away fans are just an after thought when it's a club like us, Rovers though on the other hand look at it the opposite way around. Or at least they did last season but a few pennies have dropped i think. Swans 1 Rovers 2
  22. Could just be a touch of the Brad Dacks in his later days at his previous club.
