  1. Some good some poor is pretty much par for the course here as we saw it under Bowyer and father and Mowbray and Venus. So they are your benchmark and GB and JDT are on course in one season to surpass both at Championship level. Not bad going imo although we all strive for perfection you show me that in football and i'll send you a hens tooth.
  2. Morton isn't an underwhelming signing we aren't going to land lucky with the likes of Elliot very often. Problem with Tyler was when he lost his way JDT keep him in the starting line up which was wrong. That was righted eventually and it played a part in our upturn in form but he played his part earlier on. Not a bad player just needs using like any other young developing talent and we need him now. Mola again he showed glimpses but he was used all wrong and is now remembered for his Burnley nightmare. I think there's a player in there but not sure what role he can offer us at the min. Hirst was abysmal granted but he had some pedigree with Pompey last year so the failure is down to him. He didn't put the right amount of commitment in he played like a lad going through the motions trying not to get injured instead of one after a contract here. GB was also trying to get O'Brien in so if that's a sign of things to come he's on the the right tracks now.
  3. Tell us you've never punched anyone in your life Tezza without telling us you've never punched anyone.
  4. The amount of times we'll have been on tv this before the cup run is taken into account should provide a decent contribution to subsidise a great ST deal next season.
  5. Imbeciles No wonder they don't often get it right listening to that kind of advice.
  6. As i said half of it like it used to be with a thousand or so in would be fine the section would be half full, no use opening all of it to se a few hundred scattered about.
  7. I just don't think we've enough of an active fanbase now to get a decent number behind both goals. Sure they'd turn up at a tenner a ticket if we'd got promoted or were maybe guaranteed a play off place. Would be nice to get half of it at least half full with home fans though with aways in the other half like it used to be. Would make for a good atmosphere for sure.
  8. With our counter attacking game a fast start should suit us but we need to be at the races from the very first whistle. We have been recently to be fair and we know there'll be no need to draw them out. I don't want to see another rabbit in the headlights Burnley job but then no disrespect the Blades aren't as good as that lot. A bit stronger than us yes but it's a cup tie so anything goes.
  9. That win at Sunderland will have given them a big boost for Sunday i suspect. If we don't wilt in the first 15 mins we'll be ok, it isn't a day for keep ball at the back it's a day for clear your lines or hit the channels.
  10. The reason they've up the Riverside price in line with elsewhere and the reason the tv gantry was built in there was to get more in the JW and showcase that on telly. Must say it does look miles better but cutting prices in there i think would just see more migrating back it's just shuffling the same papers around the desk. There needs to be some kind of radical offer all around so there are several thousand take it up and that in turn would organically boost numbers in the riverside. Especially if the BBE lower sold out, the aim should be 12k season ticket holders then games like last night would have seen 15k plus as it should have done. Waggot has had 5 years now of squeezing what we have and the limit has been reached and breached they've only managed to shrink the ST base by several thousand whilst maintaining takings. Totally counterproductive and has lead to lower gates that even we should be having whilst competing in the top 6. Many of us have warned of this for years because we know how this town and fanbase work. Once you lose regulars that money gets put towards something else in this area and after a pandemic and now cost of living scandal it'll prove nigh on impossible to get a lot back unless something radical is done and some bullets are bitten.
  11. To be fair Morton owes us several assists.
  12. First time i went we won, that was when Stapleton was here i think and Andy Marriot (?) was in goal. Don't recall seeing anything else there in terms of a win i obviously missed the early 90's one. It's never been a good ground for us but we tend to do ok at home against them.
  13. I worry all the time Morton is on the pitch there's as much chance of him splitting our own defence with a loose ball as playing one in at the other end. There's a good player in there but until he builds a bit more strength and bite he isn't really suited to an aggressive championship side. Buckley can be too casual and frustrating but he's still good at breaking play and putting a foot in. That's the big difference for me.
  14. Phew !!! Really looked like it was going to be one of them nights we are so familiar with but great character shown and Hedges was due something.
  15. He was probably shadowing the lad to make sure he didn't u turn and sign for someone else it's not unusual.
  16. I agree but he had identified a good midfielder there and i think the Stoke game highlighted just how much we needed someone like him. So Broughton can't be all that bad he was trying to bring in a player who was better than what we have and would surely have been a starter. A complete 360 from Mowbray, Venus and their crew who would only sign back up players even when there was a limited pot available. He should've brought in a forward as well but not for the first time it didn't happen but i think he deserves a bit of credit for trying to get a good player in. We could sure use him now.
  17. Although he was trying to bring in midfielders even though the gaffer and most of us seemed to prioritise a striker.
  18. Vintage Andy Carroll only shows up once in a while so lets hope it's normal Andy Carroll tomorrow night. Cut out the crosses and supply line for him.
  19. Think i saw a Sheff U fan recently saying they are obsessed with segregation and leave a corner empty or something even if the home section next to it doesn't sell out. Yet you go to some grounds and people are virtually next to each other, no wonder teams love coming to Ewood !
  20. There'll be a bigger than usual walk up as well probably, anything above 15k is a big success considering the ST base has been ground down to barely 9k. There'd be 12 thousand home fans give or take on for this without the reductions so that's an extra 3k tripping up which no one should sneer at. Do this against Blackpool or Wigan for an evening game even on tv and there'd be 18/20k on, do it for Reading we are never going to get huge numbers on a Weds night. If they want a rip roaring success from it it has to be a Saturday afternoon against local or attractive opposition. We are Blackburn Rovers we haven't had an active fanbase of over 14 thousand for 12 years now so it amuses me every time something like this occurs some seem to think they'll flock back.
  21. Yes i was surprised at that but think i read somewhere a while back they have quite a few in other championship teams or similar who came through there. There can't be anyone with more home produced lads in their first team squad with mins on the pitch in that list than us ?
