It's a fair point although other teams have done it in this league and lower. Huddersfield did it and i think not long after got promoted, Bradford did it in the lower leagues and skint Bolton and PNE have done it more recently. All of those clubs saw significant increases in their crowds on the back of it which should have more or less covered the shortfall from higher prices but dwindling ticket sales.

You'd think they'd be required to actually earn that money when the need arises but a bit like identity parades it seems they just get paid for taking part. Mind you at least they aren't hiring teams of nightclub bouncers from Gtr Manc now to cause trouble with our own fans.

All this whining they are doing about 7k is nonsense anyway because they've never had that in the league. I seem to recall when Bowyer was here they had about 6 thousand but most other times it's always been restricted to around 4.5/5k. They'd be moaning anyway even if they had that. Similarly we've rarely had the full end over there for a league game.

Don't let that put you off it isn't the 80's any official coach going or well organised one will have all you need. If not they'll do pit stops on the services. Like the Burnley bubble games the QF was a one off where loads of non regular travellers turn up and the club does things as cheap as possible. -

We know Rovers fans are bonkers when it comes to away followings but as stated before money only goes so far. 1600+ at Stoke for a Friday night live tv game, 6k at Sheffield for a Sunday 12 o'clock kick off live on terrestrial tv. So no surprise to experienced followers there'd be a drop off somewhere soon and don't forget both those games were defeats. There'll be 1500 or so there which is this seasons average following. I won't make it i'll be on the way back from a do in the Lakes but credit to every last one who goes you do the club proud. -
It would be very very galling to see him go to another Championship top 6 chasing rival and Dack maybe go to Sunderland. In an ideal world i'd keep both on a year extension and find another central striker capable of double figures. Finances are very unlikely to allow that though but if we are ambitious it's the kind of thing we need to do but it all depends on how JDT sees the team developing. We did ok without BBD for a spell and Dack and imo looked a more balanced functional unit until the shambles at Stoke. I'm putting that one more down to fatigue though and the head coach should have seen the signs and freshened up the starting line up. However losing the pair of them would be a big blow and a big loss in the goals column lets not kid ourselves.

Burnley would have took 23,000 across i'm pretty sure Alan Pace would have demanded the entire stadium with the home fans allocated 2000. Good job they got it out the way early otherwise there'd be a sob story on twitter. -

Home fans but it would obviously need a massive influx of season ticket sales. -

In the Prem yes so in the champ a 15k average should be achievable and would be respectable. -
Well it isn't the groundbreaker we really need but at least it's something and a reversal of the last 5 years mostly price hikes. I think all the prices outside the standard adult bracket are really good value so hopefully the youth of East Lancs oll up in bigger numbers. Lets face it guys you've nowt else to do in Blackburn and Darwen these days. I really hope we hit the 10k mark again and maybe beyond, the home form and results have really been worth it mostly over the last 2 seasons. We have our downs as well as ups but we are going the right way and being moulded into a cracking little outfit again with the swing to younger players. Team and head coach really need to do their bit and finish the season as strong as possible now.

I don't think there is cause for a meltdown if it isn't sold out there'll still be plenty there as usual for Saturday games. There are a lot of home games coming up as well and money for a lot only stretches so far. Ave away following this season is about 1,500 i think so that's not bad at all considering the home gates and the ups and downs in form especially away. For every Sheff U effort or QPR win theres been a Rotherham or Stoke so a lot are a bit wary of the no show performances. Also consider we haven't had Preston yet, Wigan was moved and at night i seem to recall and Bumley only give a few so our away turnouts are as solid as anybody's. -
They are going on like everyone is terrified of a full noisy Darwen End as if its never been seen before 🤣 Ok we don't 7k of them there celebrating winning the league that's nauseating but apart from that they are no noisier than Sunderland, Boro, Preston, Brum, Sheff U etc or even Blackpool (the best Lancs visiting fans always) The high opinion they have of themselves is like a Z list version of Leeds when they don't even come close. The smaller following and lesser atmosphere might even impact us more the Rovers team and fans tend to get up for games more when the DE is busy. Seems to fire the players up to shut up the away fans.
-
They have an average away following of about 2.5k this season so bung them another 500 tickets and all regulars who want to come should be able to get one. Job done.
-
Well at least we'll sell it out.
-
In Waggots era it has been a case of maximise the away support and fleece whatever home fans can be bothered. Hence the early season angst about the red carpet treatment in this particular fixture. Something in recent months seems to have changed. Be nice if they did a 2 for 1 in the home sections for anyone on the database .... 🙂

A 29k capacity would still mean there's 22 thousand home seats that's plenty and of course if more was needed just split the DE again. -

I think @Groundhog referring to home fans and i agree most games will be under that number. -

I don't think it would be possible to do the things that have been suggested and keep the capacity. The issue has always been room and the river so coming closer to the pitch is the only logical answer. That would mean a small capacity to allow for incorporating things behind the stand that might contribute to the clubs income. That's something i'd be all for as there is a purpose to it as well as making the ground look better and a much needed improvement to the atmosphere at that side. Mind you if we could get another thousand or so in there regularly it wouldn't matter. There is something unique and old school about the riverside but facilities aren't great and it looks awful on matchdays when there is only 12k or less. -
Trains, planes and automobiles...... a new updated version of how to get to Blackburn and smash ''bstads' by A. Porter The author apologies beforehand that he might not make it as he's helping the local taskforce with their enquiries that day.

Unless something different is done with it like the suggestions in this thread that also go along with less seating there is absolutely no point rebuilding it. If you want to retain the same number of seats then just leave it as it is. The whole rebuild idea is to incorporate something else into there which might be useful and improve income whilst improving atmosphere and giving us a capacity more in keeping with the size of fanbase and regular crowds. At the moment they maintain a 5k seat stand for a regular 1 or 1.5k bums on them which is kind of daft when you think about it. If we want a big capacity just in case we need it once in a blue moon then just carry on as we are. Otherwise 27/28k is more than enough for us Prem or no Prem. -
It's well known going right back to the 80's these clowns have loads who sometimes travel but don't actually attend games. Preferring to hang around in groups in pubs looking for bother. Sums that element of their support up, pure scum.

They looked quite handy at Ewood this season so this is yet another tough game lets be under no illusions. Biggest game of the season so far..... gets chucked about a lot but imo this is and the next one and so on. That's the mentality we need now not the shoulder shrug it's ok we were shit there's still 8/7/6 to go ! We need to banish any cup hangover and come back with a bang if we win this it could be massive. COYB
