  1. I'd assume when a player is out with a serious long term injury there is insurance to cover some if not all of their wages until they start kicking a ball again. So i doubt he's cost a million and a half for nothing this past few years.
  2. It's not the running around that's been the issue it's the not using him at all when those who've been running around are knackared as are the opposition defenders. There are several games recently where its been crying out for someone like him to come on. We have grafters up top which is good but they have shown they can't do it game in game playing twice a week. That's understandable but we need a plan B and we are so short on quality in the final third sometimes apart from BBD it's painful to see. As for Mowbray he knows exactly what he's doing, sending a message to Sunderlands DOF.
  3. Been obvious from the off this has been on the cards. Crazy to lose a player of his talent and replace him with cheaper water carriers but i guess with the injuries those upstairs have decided he's better off off our books asap. The usual defenders of all things stupid will be along soon to defend the club.
  4. Brum have sold 2k plus there is pay on the day. Really odd bunch these lot they never used to bring many up here especially in the Prem but now they seem to have two or three thousand every visit. They should have big support obviously but they are still an odd bunch, however it should see another 15k crowd which is good and the bigger the away support the more our lot and team seem to get up for it. Rovers 1 Brum 1
  5. If i recall so slapped was Steve's arse he pulled his son out of the academy at Rovers and possibly deprived him of a career here.
  6. He might need managing differently and he might struggle with intense day to day training but there are ways around that. Some are not taking into account he isn't 'just' back from injury he's played last season, pre season and in games this season. He's had some good spells, scored the odd goal and set up goals. He's fit enough to play but he is being completely ignored and whilst yes we are doing well there is still desperate need for a player of his ability to be involved. So this goes far deeper than just being a post injured player so it's about time there was some real honesty.
  7. Has anybody ever seen a huge old tanker weighed down with baggage gliding past a speedy compact punchy little sports car ? You don't know what you've lost until its gone Tony lad !
  8. We or rather he (Mowbray) didn't sign a striker or forward last season when in second place and missing BBD and Dack etc Similar reasons given as in when they are all back someone won't have a place, goals will come from others in the team, it cost us a top 6 place iv'e no doubt. The 'real' reason we didn't sign one ? They don't play with strikers or centre forwards or target men. Modern managers are bonkers at times.
  9. Sunderland were so so similar last night to Rovers the season before last. That's not a dig either considering they've only just come back up they look very comfortable in 2/3rds of the pitch. A lot of youth though and a lot of naivety like us now although when playing his possession game we had plenty experience. Best thing that ever happened was getting rid of Evans and not keeping Holtby and Trybull on loan it gave us an exciting half a season because he had to change it. I can see him taking Sunderland down the possession route given what we saw last night but maybe it'll suit them if they have someone who can score.
  10. SHOULD see a bigger crowd on Sat. To be fair If that Sunderland game was on a Saturday and no tv we'd have been looking at around 18k, good old SKY always does for Rovers gates.
  11. We probably got away with one with the penalty shout but we've had a few turned down already this season. VAR might have given it but from the refs view at the other side it would definitely appear to be ball touched before man. He didn't seem to go out of his way to try and even it up second half.
  12. Willingness and ambition to work at it rather than bone idle taking the easy option.
  13. Get used to no strikers last night was the future under old Tone.
  14. A lot are doing imaginative ticket deals for odd games though and i know we do as well but at home to Sunderland on a Tues night in Oct was never going to be a crowd puller. It's also school holidays so a little imagination beyond 1875 and getting an extra few quid out of away fans might have seen a few more in.
  15. So annoying but again club actions don't help shoving the price up, 20 quid sounds better for a live tv game than 25 and i'm sure it put a few off.
  16. Ran himself into the ground for the team tonight, probably get rested on Saturday. Dack needs to be coming on in games like tonight to replace him and get a foot on the ball and stop wave after wave of attack coming back.
  17. Miles away from home, 1 nil up in the last few mins and 300 on a freezing terrace singing it, nothing better !
  18. Nearer 4k by kick off, about 10k home fans actually turned up i'd say.
  19. How long have some of you lot been attending Ewood ? We are on the countdown to playing Burnley for the first time in a few years so naturally there is something building. We are on tv and knocking them off top spot, watch them on tv and you'll hear constant anti rovers songs. You should also know if Rovers fans aren't singing about Burnley they aren't singing. Find something else to fucking moan about, tonight was a good night.
  20. Their strikers are out and they are saying they like TM using two wide forwards and a false night to cover for this. Think they better get used to it. Wouldn't be surprised if he puts one over us tonight though he gets a few good counter attacking systems churning out the odd good result away from from home. Just never liked doing it often enough here.
  21. I'd say the Welsh game has potential for more wide spread serious disorder than our derby these days. Some serious loons attached to both those clubs who also happen to be based in far bigger cities in the arse end of Wales.
  22. Maybe a certain number of starts or appearances triggers the year option so that's why he is in effect being frozen out. They might not want rid of him right now they might even want to use him but if they want his wages off the books in summer they can't. I'm certain something like this is at play rather JDT just not rating him he isn't that daft.
  23. 3 wrongs don't make a right. Pure profit vital to FFP to be had here even for one modest fee, it was a fuck up in the end to see all 3 in the same boat. No amount of trying to gloss it over and place blame on all three players with a one size fits all excuse will alter that.
  24. Those in charge realised that and that's why he was afforded the opportunity to try and get us up again. Alongside the biggest budget and best backing in the division by far as well as one of its strongest squads despite them relegating us. Had they brought him in maybe 3 or 4 games earlier we may or may not have avoided the drop but we'd certainly have given ourselves a better shot at it. People seem to take it as a given that he would have kept us up but that's hindsight there are no guarantees. However my point still stands his name was over the door and he didn't do quite enough to keep us up. I can certainly point to several games that were what we came to know were typically standard Mowbray and they could and should have been better considering what was at stake. Ultimately the owners running of the club was at the core of the blame but just like the manager then they have to get credit as well for their part in the promotion.
