  1. Good old stretch ??‍♂️?️ This season's talisman for sure and no more than we deserve so far.
  2. Oh with all the young players now needing games adding to the usual rotation etc. It's sure to be a season of real fun and games on that score.
  3. Very lightweight looking at that bench, no game changers or point savers but aside from when Arma starts on there its been that way since promotion. Another thing that's held us back a bit, oh well it is what it is. A point or 3 would give us all a great boost going into it. COYB !
  4. Does nobody with half a mind think the money left from January hasn't been used up in the lockdown ? Didn't Waggot even say we've about a million in the pot that will go towards helping tide us over ? Even if not how many budget surplus in normal life gets carried over to the next one in my experience it usually just gets absorbed.
  5. If you are paying several good players 15 - 25k pwk, some average on c10k pwk and have quite a few good young players on less than 10k making up your annual football wage bill does that automatically mean you should be worse than other clubs who may be paying a load of bang average players 10 grand per week but have a bigger overal wage bill because their squad is bigger ???? No of course not the wage bill thing outside of the huge payers and those on real peanuts can be misleading. You don't base all your aspirations on that clubs jumble up the natural pecking order all the time. Seems it's replacing FFP now as the go to excuse for going nowhere. I'll repeat for the umpteenth time how many clubs outside huge turnover clubs in this division could afford to pay Graham, Mulgrew, Evans, Dack, Holtby, Johnson. Or recruit Tosin and Downing ? The wages we pay half the team isn't a natural reflection of it being 16th in the league.
  6. Don't worry when we are in the mid stages of these 7 or 8 games without a win runs it's remarkable how these with only rose tinted glasses alter their views.
  7. Great posts by both Revidge and Paul M, very emotive, both clearly passionate about OUR club. Lets keep the balance and leave the favoritism to the manager.
  8. We go with what we have ! The team with that defense have got us results before in games so they can again it's just not well equipped enough for the long haul. Hesitancy and dithering with not strengthening has cost us before, badly once and frustratingly at other times. We have a very frustrating manager though so it's just a reflection of his methods. Still i wouldn't bet against him landing a promising loan or two he's been good at that a few times. Lets just hope the myriad of box tickers back him before the window shuts.
  9. They aren't reporters just commentators with the aim of just keeping everything middle of the road instead of asking real questions and questioning the answers. Basically just fill your airtime and columns as quickly and easily as possible.
  10. He's a league 1 wide attacker imo. Maybe even a decent wing back at that level. Defensively one on one and position wise at this level he's very poor. Not really the improved a jot but then again too much in and out of the team.
  11. Under someone like Allardyce he'd use it to get him winning free kicks in the final 3rd as often as possible. Trying to use anything and everything to gain that extra inch on the opposition and win games. Take what a player is good at and flog it to death, fit it into a team and leave the weaknesses for the training ground and extra work with the coaches. Matchday is all about getting points.
  12. How long since Blackburn Rovers bought a good defender ? It's beyond ridiculous.
  13. Was it Ternant who said Burnley fans want to buy champagne with beer money ? Sometimes looks like our lot in charge would rather drink supermarkets own branded piss even when they've enough change to buy some decent branded bottled lager. All whilst waiting for the home brew to be ready but having no real idea if it's lager or bitter !
  14. Interesting one that as the LT at the time ran with us not being able to match his Toon wedge of c20k but offering a 4 yr contract on c15k. Sounds about right and enforces even more what bullshit Mowbray was spouting about Bauer as you are not telling me they suddenly found that kind of money for a 4 year deal when they couldn't compete for AA. Tripped himself up badly there which is why i find some of this windows guff a bit far fetched. To me it resembles Bowyers last summer when the taps had gone off and FFP had us very limited to where we could shop. Why don't they just speak the bloody truth fans might be a bit more accepting then.
  15. Sharpe and the rest don't 'know' anything they are just going off what they are being told so until something happens it has to be taken with a pinch of salt. What goes on and actually happens and what gets spun is often very different. How many times was Ben Marshall having his medical at Sheff Weds ready to sign ? I hope Roves start billing these players agent for the medicals that'll soon put a stop to the pissing around.
  16. No idea if this is relevant to the rovers scenario but players often have several medical procedures to go through before signing. If find it hard to accept a string of people are coming into the club having full medicals here then bolting off to sign for someone else at the death. Perhaps 'due in for full medical and expected to sign' is being mixed up with been in then ran off.
  17. Rothwell is probably now being coached to run sideways direct forwards runners are becoming rare in this sideways world.
  18. Swaggo telling us his 'fleece what you've got first' methods.
  19. Preston away for one that's without even thinking about it. He'll have had to have made significant progress on the training pitch to be a decent center half, sorry but that's looking at it as it is without positive spin. He's a back up man over the course of a season imo.
  20. Basil Rathbone - now there was a left back ! I was only a kid but from what i remember he'd be a superstar in this ream. I remember Sulley better and he was better than anything we've had now for a long while.
  21. Why pay someone 15k pwk when Williams will stay and he's on 10. That's the top and bottom of it same as last season when Mulgrew came back, well lets try him again and if not Derek is now a centre half anyway he tells me. Lax, unambitious, easy street, skint or just plain scared of upsetting the lads. Either way it's groundhog day then when one of both 1 st choice get injured it's panic and heart in mouths time as the kids step in. Play offs ? You're having a laugh.
  22. Textbook Mowbray Now tell me how serious they are about some of these defensive targets ? He never really wants to change anything unless he has to.
  23. I think it will suit him down to the ground the kind of keeper he is playing it out from the back quick etc. Top class club and set up and he has a chance there although it might take time. 25 no age for a keeper and he'll get some European exposure there probably so if it doesn't work after a few seasons he'll go abroad.
