  1. It certainly ain't broke so it doesn't need fixing by 3 who've had next to nothing to do with it. WTF makes Waggot, Mowbray and Venus experts on how it should and shouldn't be in the future ? Where is their collective back catalogue for overseeing this kind of thing ? The only reason he can trot out the stupid '5 years behind Brentford in selling and recruiting' is down to rank bad, corrupt even, management from ownership downwards. Players have been sold for millions under Venky's, quite a few cost little or nothing. It is the way its been re-invested or not at all that is the real problem. How he's got the brass neck to come out with that when he shot 12 million directly down the tubes on just 2 forwards and expect fans to swallow it is beyond arrogant.
  2. We may as well just twin with Boro ! Then whenever they have someone they want off the books or a youngster who hasn't made the grade in we step. That's the recruitment sorted.
  3. Cost cutting ? I really fear that when people have heard of 'big changes' coming in summer it'll be this kind of thing. Chairs being shuffled around the deck rather than a change of management etc. I double fear more TM allies or HSH and affiliate filling the gaps. Losing someone to a club who's been on its arse for yeas is going to raise serious questions. Be no surprise to see them pass us in the next few years though if the present paralysis continues.
  4. In regards to Kean and all the rest of it at that time it took a hell of a while for them to get up to speed. However stuff was flying out from all angles so i think they'd no choice but to wise up once the penny dropped. They still didn't have the minerals to go after the rest of them though, which was a disservice to their readership. Don't make the same mistake twice.
  5. Get this printed in your paper and on your website you spineless yes men. Do your duty to the Blackburn public and Rovers fanbase instead of toeing the club/manager/owner line all the time. Anybody would think you were just a propaganda tool for the latest names over the door.
  6. I'll go Freidel first just for his consistency if nothing else closely followed by Tugay, we'll never come remotely close to those 2 again. Elite operators. Benni Mac, Nelson, Samba, Bert, Pedersen lead the follow up pack.
  7. Well it's happening for a reason and most likely been ordered by the CEO. Who else down there would think of that ? So i think we'll know which way it's likely to be spun.
  8. It's such a shame when it comes to that as in spells they can play some decent stuff. It just isn't suited to this squad if they want to do anything more than tread water in the lower half of the division. Some time back now just as i predicted Mowbray changed tack and wrote off a top 6 challenge in favour of banging on about the kids and journeys etc. He's an old hand at shifting the goalposts he's had enough practice when he's turned wine into water before. I don't like his brand of possession football it's too slow and predictable and it doesn't suit some of those trying to play it. Certainly not in the positions he puts them but he's been hiding behind the 'kids' line and having to rotate because of all the games for ages. He quite simply doesn't know the best 11 of his squad available to win games it's as simple as that. So he throws as many factors into every equation as he can in an attempt to blind everyone. Got to say its still working on a lot of folk so i reckon the overall reaction might be quite even. For me the football hasn't been that bad mostly but it just isn't effective and the proof, stats, facts or whatever anyone wants to call them are there for all to see. Results and league position. Not really sure the fans opinion matters much at all at Ewood though once you get beyond what passes for a boardroom. I wonder if this is someone trying to gather enough evidence to present a case for change ? OR if it's Waggots doing more like the opposite -- new contracts. I hope they were recording the calls !
  9. So where's it going wrong at Ewood then, the culture and feel or the data ? How much of those do you need to see people like Holtby and Ayala are unlikely to feature often enough. Or that Evans has been on a joyride for years ? Does the manager change his mind every game and several times per game or are stat sheets telling him he should do that ? Are the recruitment dept and stats depts pulling in different directions than the manager and what we see is a result of this ? The balance isn't right at this club on or off the pitch and we don't need a team of number crunchers to confirm that.
  10. Our mon would only do that if the oppositions left back had good forward running stats.
  11. Possession Stats 1 Blackburn Rovers 0
  12. Gladwin, Samuel, Smallwood now Williams. Maybe even throw Chapman in there, TM and co's football holding company. No wonder players like him it's all about them, might be nice if it was all about points and progress for a change.
  13. The thing here though is it as far as we know not down to them. It's being pitched and pushed by the present cosy little regime who won't or are very unlikely to be here in another decades time. We are on dangerous turf here being played to other agendas yet again. Broom needed.
  14. And football orientated structure in between instead of a squeeze what you've got glorified consultant and a part time accountant.
  15. 30k Stadium already in place ..... tick Ability to two thirds fill that stadium on average if product & price is right .....tick Large training center, still better than most in this division....... tick Academy site in and facilities & staff already producing champ standard kids........tick Very wealthy owners who, push the right buttons, will back their managers ....... tick now Lets look at what Brentford have already in place that we don't, what's missing off that list ?
  16. 6 years in the making 🤨 That'll put us 11 years behind Brentford but it would certainly see Tony through to his retirement years.
  17. We have to give him credit for that then to be fair.
  18. Just complete bull covering the fact he was getting fit for his move here whilst we were struggling for defenders. Must be 4 or 5 now under Mowbray who've been able to sort themselves out whilst still being paid by Rovers.
  19. Are they really still that numb in India to think he, his tactics, selections and signings haven't made a contribution to this dire season along with everything else ? What is this 'understanding' that they have ? And do they really swallow that selling half the training base and scaling down to the Brentford model is going to deliver top 6 ???? Or are they just not that bothered ?
  20. With the amount of bods we might lose i'm almost certain he'll try and keeps his pals first and foremost.
  21. I know it doesn't make fook all difference on a match day. Is there a whole dept allocated to study Boro players ? Amazing how their stats must be better than many others. What were Ayala's stats for the previous 12 months i wonder.
  22. Manager wants a certain type to fit into his system, scouts get the nod and go scouting. Scouts who know how the managers team plays. Now it seems they look at a spread sheet, A runs more than B but B comes on strong late on. C hasn't the stamina of either but his pass completion is better than both. Ok we'll try for C first then ! Might explain a lot of signing that seem scattergun and the unbalanced teams. Put your faith in the stats then if it doesn't work it isn't your fault. No wonder games and teams are largely full of robots these days. Fitter athletes than in the past mostly, better basic skills mostly but flair and character ? Its all but gone. Don't get me wrong some of it is needed and is good but as with everything tech related, it takes over. There'll be no need for managers soon it'll just be stat sheet v stat sheet teams faxed down from the stats dept. Cut out the middlemen.
  23. Just looking at the midfielders who's contracts and loans are up is eye watering. What's the betting this manager tries to keep Bennett, Evans and Downing then lets the rest go ? I fear next season will be a real struggle or another mid table plod at best, unless there is some proper ambition or nous from somewhere.
  24. The lip service Kean played about the Champions League is just the same as Waggot and Mowbray are trotting out about the Brentford model. Cannot for the life of me fathom why some still don't see through this shite. Contract extensions are the aim in between all that, just safeguarding their own journey. Only journey this team is on is a circular one.
  25. Yet so many wealthy people and corporate structures are happy to do so as long as they can afford it. So there has to be some kind of advantages in it alongside the ego trips etc. Although there are still a few Simon Jordans who eventually find they can't.
