Protect Jack Walker’s Legacy
tomphil replied to Stuart's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
In that case it's clear they do not have the best interests of the club or fans or Jacks legacy at heart. Only interested in the club paying them advertising revenue. Ok, so they have to have a good working relationship with Rovers but they owe it to the readership to be impartial and show both sides of the story. Support the club and fans in equal measure. They do not do that. -
Kidd was a nice guy who tried to get the team playing football on the deck. It was too insipid, the defense was too weak and we couldn't create or score enough. He retained his job too long, result - relegation and the same shite at the start of the next season. Which in effect wrote that one off as well. Kean. Got it on the deck after Allardyces relentless percentage football. Tried to get the team playing a passing style. Didn't suit the players he had, fell rapidly down the league and only stayed up the last day. Got rid of most of the better players , continued trying to play his style, result relegation. Finished what he started the season before. Coyle, well more or less the same as above. I'm absolutely convinced if we don't drop this season and he stays he'll complete the job next season. Or do enough damage to not be able to avoid it again once he's gone. Seen all this before and how it begins, it's all shaping up to another disaster. Of course he's in denial of it all but the owners by now should not be.

I don't think it did i think it's all of Waggot or the whole trio's own conniving. That middleman though i don't trust one iota he's been a constant throughout and for all we know plays both sides to keep himself in a cushy number.

Brockhall STC - planning permission application ?
tomphil replied to Mattyblue's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
It won't because if it comes about through Vs leaving then there'll be a load trying to blame fans for driving them out. If it came about as a resullt of them placing us in it iv'e no doubts they'd buy us back out of it under a new company name. Then the circle would begin again. -
'Don't worry Tony, don't worry Steve Mr B said he'll back us again if we go down. Your jobs are safe he's too busy setting up Bala Enterprises Ltd with his new friends. Speaking of that, hows the land sale progressing ?'

That's what he's created here though just malaise where winning. losing or drawing it doesn't really matter. He said he was bringing in people like Trybull & Douglas because of their experience in getting to the top end. Hoping it would rub off on others i presume but for most part on the pitch their attitude has looked abysmal. Then we have Downing, chucked another contract when no one else took him on. Complete waste of a wage this season but knowing Mowbray he was just doing him a favour. -
I don't really remember Garner missing pens i don't really remember him taking many at all. Wasn't it Barkers job then Gayle ? Not sure before that but i remember him scoring when it really mattered, he stepped up to take 3 in that infamous Burnley game. Scored all 3 but one was disallowed. He seemed keen enough to take them that day.

Good or bad Friday depending on the result
tomphil replied to perthblue02's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I don't, going off some of the stuff he's said over the past 12 months and his demeanor. Working long hours doesn't mean much he's clearly the type who lives and breathes the game. So he watches as much football as possible, nobody makes him and it doesn't make his management any better. Unless he's staying behind at Brockhall every night washing the kits what good is it doing us ? He clearly has trouble walking away from the money and the kudos of it over anything else i reckon. Because he knows full well he won't get another gig or wage like here, that's why he's hanging on. He has no belief in himself or this team that has been obvious a long time. Hence the constant excuses and revolving team sheet/subs. -

Yet some still do the honorable thing when they know it isn't working. You'd expect one who self promotes his honesty so much to actually be honest at some point. Besides i'm sure he could get half his remaining salary via some sort of mutual consent. -

Garner always sides with the man in the hotseat then spends the next 90 mins scratching his head at what he's watching. -
It wouldn't surprise me if a plan B was pitched to them to raise funds at that time. And Tony just happened to know the right people for that plan but Vs tipped up a few quid and we got back up. Covid however and the Dack sale being scuppered by injury, along with the phone not ringing for Armstrong with enough 00's has firmly put it back in the pipeline.

To a large number of young fans who haven't really had many heroes Mowbray became one. Now judging by a lot of recent comments the tide has turned but it's all part of their football education. Being let down and realizing you were backing the wrong horse is a steep learning curve. And of course in todays silly SM lead world any staunch criticism is met by a hail of faux offence. They need to wake up and decide do they just want the best for uncle Tony and his bank balance - or do they want a team of winners and a club with serious intentions ? -
Summer transfer window 2021.
tomphil replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Thing is with Evans his stats have probably always been good that's why he's remained where he is. He should have been out of Ewood years ago imo but for what he does he's actually quite good at it. Going nowhere football taking no responsibility with the ball is Evans forte in blue & white. The number of times he touches the ball will be high, the tidy little sideways short passes and receiving will be high, interceptions ( picking loose balls ) or roll out from the keeper, high. 3 tackles per game, wins 1.5, average. He is a prime example of how stats can mislead but lame arse managers can justify these players inclusion and contracts. -

Yes the number of deadweights we've signed in the last 10 years, i'd like to think a stats based approach would have kept a good few of them from a contract. If it spells the end of ageing mercenaries eeking out last contracts due to old pals acts it can't be a bad thing. They'll just have to drop down the leagues and take big pay cuts like lads who haven't made the grade if they want to carry on.
