  1. Only a raw kid then to be fair, how long's Derek been around now ? Nice to see Pompeys following a little more realistic as it used to be before their Prem purple patch and bus loads coming up with band and bell ringer.
  2. I think Mowbray tried to integrate him quite a lot last season but he's never quite clicked. Sometimes we have to look at the player and it's probably time to try something different than this lad.
  3. Good effort and not before time so any moaning at both manager and owners has been fully justified. Bowyers era got Duffy in and even Coyles reign saw Mulgrew signed so it's about time Mowbray & Swaggo delivered a decent defender so no need for squabbling, point scoring or i told you so's. Let's all get behind him and hope it was worth the wait.
  4. Exactly, there's no excuse for that whatsoever are the public not struggling a little bit more than the football club ? They are saving easily 1 million pounds on last season just by not paying Graham & Downing anymore. £25 to 50 quid fair enough but more than that is an ignorant piss take by the fat man.
  5. Sooner he completely lands on the scrapheap the better, still he probably has the right agents to end up a well paid pundit. Represents everything wrong with football that #### !
  6. Remember a load of us listening to the later stages of that at a mates house after 5 a side. He wasn't a rovers fan but we blagged him to put it on and all piled in when we were dropping him off. Everybody asking who's that David Dunn !
  7. For all we know his names being put out again and we are the bait to get other clubs moving. Hope it comes off but to be told we've missed out twice would be even more galling.
  8. Yes seemed a decent busy pub early/mid 2000's shame it bit the dust yet the others seem to keep going.
  9. The 'product' has gone way backwards since 2006/7 and the bullshit has trebled so not sure why it's being compared to then really. Rather irrelevant in the grand scheme of things the point is it's another hefty price rise in the space of a couple of years. Yes they might have been a bit cheaper in some areas of the ground than some other clubs but there was a reason for that it wasn't generosity. It's been clear since he set foot in the place Swaggot has looked around and thought right i need to get these prices up and around what some other clubs are charging as soon as possible regardless. He's paid several hundred grand plus benefits to drive up income and cut costs that's what he's here for, his wages and his resume for his next gig. Won't give a toss how he does it i doubt he'd give a stuff if we entered next season with 5k fans paying around double what it is now and all sat in one stand. Squeeze as much as you can out of what you have, it's not emotive to him just business.
  10. They aren't bothered at all like you say just figures on spreadsheets to the likes of him. The numbers go down the prices go up to compensate so it balances out and his wages are protected. Just read his less can be more type comments in that interview i posted that gives clues how he works, squeeze what you have to the point of popping. Just another corporate self serving over size suit more interested in rubbing shoulders with the corporates. All this whilst putting zero pressure on manager and team. Sad thing is he's the best we'll get whilst that lot run it we know how they trust agency people who say the right things over anybody with Rovers in their blood.
  11. Aye i forgot they'd done away with it, good move imo. Pens it is then !
  12. Extra time and pens after holding to a 1-1 in normal time. We never do anything the easy way.
  13. I'm in for a tenner as well. I'll pass on the Gallagher one though i think he might notch ten this season ! I backed him for that last season mind you but like the manager i believe in second chances. Unlike the manager though i'd only ever have him up top never wide.
  14. Not been in there for a long time the one i used as a local when i lived down that way is now a C0 OP ?
  15. If TM was in a burning building he'd jump in the shower believing he just needed to turn it on to be safe !
  16. I find it hard to believe they do that with everybody given some of the signings in recent years. Looks like it might be reserved for defenders and keepers.
  17. This managers sees no urgency in anything at all that's why we constantly end up hamstrung in certain positions. A few knocks or lengthy injuries and we are up the creek this season yet he slumps back into his chair with his cup of tea.
  18. Send out a team packed with youngsters and use it as a learning curve. Save the legs for the league.
  19. Hughes was looking for defence bedrocks. The non flash kind that can serve you well for years becoming the corner stone of your team. Now the emphasis just seems to be find one under a million who'll have resale value. Priorities are all wrong.
  20. You have to be out there looking and prepared to sign them. Not sifting about looking for cheap back up to what we already have. After your prime target has predictability snubbed you of course. A genuine desire to rebuild the back line has to be there.
  21. The Doc is the same brand of expert that Malaysian TV pundit was I reckon.
  22. The Bournemouths lively bowling green pristine surface seemed to suit Rovers on Saturday i can see them hammering a few sides on that. Iv'e always felt the higher tempo game suits our side far better than sit back sideways possession. We'd probably have lost with that approach anyway so it would be nice this season to just go for it in the majority of games. If the attitude is as it seems to be 'you win some you lose some' then why not make it exciting at least. Midtable either way so why not.
  23. He's looked like that for years so he's done well to hang on ? To me he just looks like someone who really isn't nor ever has been concerned about his position.
  24. Belting if we got him at the death, 2 weeks doesn't matter. As long as he doesn't make a habit of it !
