But it would be 14k with 7 thousand Barcodes so the bean counters are covered....

Interesting draw we've an ok record up there, should take a few this time depending on price/tv hopefully we play without fear. Would think the suits at Ewood will be hoping for a draw so they can charge top whack in a replay, get tv coverage, fleece the Geordies, open all the ground then sit back and moan when it's nowhere near full !
-
Visited Elland road many times but not been there for 6 years and it was 34 quid on the day then to be treated like penned in cattle so i'll never go again unless they get sensible or do some sort of cheap ticket deal. 25 poundsish would've seen two thousand or so go over there but be lucky with 500 at that price it's more about the principle than the actual money for a lot, being blatantly ripped off doesn't sit well. Football is on its arse with clubs getting away with stuff like this how is it supposed to attract and keep new or lapsed adult fans ? Their home sections will be more or less full but a few years ago they'd have been a third empty, I guess it's ok when you've a catchment area of about a million people to call on though. Rest of us average sized clubs are stuffed !

I like Downing he's never really let us down since he arrived aside from the odd stinker they all have but i'm not sure he's good enough to command a regular place. Good back up man though but some are just destined to be that, does he put pressure on Mulgrew/lenihen for a starting place should one of them founder ? Doubt it so there's no real competition for places there, there's back up options but that's it.

Huth would have been good a while ago just the right type we have been missing ages but not now no way we've moved away from busted flushes on big contracts hopefully. Just not worth the risk like Wes Brown wasn't. Spend a few quid and get a good hard centre half with something left in his legs who'll serve us fir a few years, preferably not one who puts country before club if he's any kind of international involvement anywhere and over 30. Build from the back

Fury did say he wasn't fighting in England again although he talks shit all the time and his credibility will have gone up a notch with that he might even be able to sell out 19 thousand seats in the Manchester Arena at long last. Would imagine that the rematch clause if there is one states it'll be in the US I don't think Warren had many bargaining chips when agreeing this fight other than the name and profile of Fury off the back of the Klitschko win, all the other shit will have gone against him. To be honest if it's in the US and soon I expect Wilde to get the job done next time although he'll be losing on the cards again. I said he was too light for this a bit more behind those punches and i'm not sure Fury gets up.
-
It certainly wasn't a robbery on the Canello v GGG scale and plenty experts sat there afterwards and called that either way. I wouldn't have complained if they'd scored it for Fury but can also see how they might go draw taking the fight and whole scenario start to finish around this matchup , makes the rematch more interesting and kind of guarantees it. Protects both guys unbeaten records and keeps the belt with the Yank, boxing still stinks and that's before we state on drug cheats who shouldn't be allowed to fight again.

Including the knockdown rounds which he was probably losing but won Wilder won another couple and there were several close rounds. Makes me laugh this when everyone suddenly tunes into a one of big fight and suddenly becomes a judge or an expert... Add in the fact it's in the US and Wilder is the most protected champion ever it really was no surprise IF it got to points something like that would happen hence why Joshua would've been mad to go over there with all those belts ! I think if you read the post I said Wilder was outboxed that doesn't make Fury superman everyone outboxes Wilder he's technically rubbish he's just powerful for his bandy 15 stone frame and very agile. Old man Ortiz schooled him more than Fury but ran out of gas and when the similar onslaught arrived he was done and couldn't get up. Irony is here it was the British judge !
-
Two knockdowns and a few close rounds so probably right result, always had suspicion it would be a draw if they were both standing at the end so backed it at 33-1. There's been something of a pantomime about this from start to finish so no surprise the draw really it was always going to lead to a rematch if scorecards were involved. Certainly no questions about Furys heart or desire anymore but no big deal he outboxed Wilder virtually everyone does..... but not many get up !
-
If he starts about once a month Conway could probably produce like that also TMs management of Graham in recent weeks bore fruit today. What a pity there isn't another similar to him in the squad to fill in......

My predictions for today are as follows. Evans & Smallwood will sit deep and afford Weds the middle of the park. We'll concede a bad'un We'll score a good'un One half will be dog poo the other a bit better Brereton will come on as a sub sometime through 2nd half whatever the score, formation, tactics We'll moan afterwards if we don't win Enjoy !

Disgraceful price at Leeds but another club who'd seemingly rather have 500 there paying that 1500 paying a more standard price. They don't want visiting customers but when you are guaranteed the TV money they seem to get every season now then no wonder ! Up yours EFL and your big club love in, every season it becomes a bit more like the Prem.
-
I think somebody is now advising them to only spend big on the Brereton types and we'll have a great team in a few years worth 100 million it seems the type of advice that would get their juices flowing again. Nothing wrong with that if you let the manager mix and match a bit to give a good team to blend these so called exiting youngsters into with the aim being promotion not to make money another way. If he eyes a good 28 year old centre back for a few million who might not really increase in value but will give good service for 4 years let him get him in !
-
Ne needs to be able to recruit to build a side for promotion as he sees fit not just follow a remit of we'll give you money if you spend it on young U25 Englishmen who should double in value quickly if you fit them into the team. Some of that should be good of course but it shouldn't go unnoticed by the powers that be that the potential best player and value increase here is a sub one million pound buy from league 1 sourced by TM and the other two best and most reliable brought in by other managers were experienced pros with desire still left in the tank with a bit of pedigree picked up on frees and decent wages.

THE derby might be back on the menu soon, good job we weren't handed our arse by them like the PNE game.....

The manner of the defeats and performances at Preston and Wigan have cast a bit of an unexpected shadow on a good start to the season and quire rightly called into question some of his methods. Had we drawn one lost one or lost both at least being competitive there wouldn't have been as much reaction but we do know he and his squad are better than that so hopefully those games are a lesson to all of them like last seasons Southend, Donny and Oldham games. Get back to basics, get a settled team that gets a few results and leave it alone for a bit if possible. To me Mowbray is all about being a steady eddie and that'll proved the case over the season again his methods are bizarre at times but proven. Think he'll need to get some more attacking quality in before he gets bolder so he needs windows and backing for that but I really really would start looking at that defence if I was him a solid back 4 who know what they are doing and have a couple of commanding figures in gives those in front licence to be a bit more attack minded and maybe just maybe one day we'll end up with a Rovers side that doesn't need two non creative deep lying defensive mids every bleeding game ! I'd hate to see the team in another 2 seasons time almost the same as it is now.
-
Good news although i'm not sure i'd have been throwing out a 3.5 year deal so they'd better back him now, hopefully it's not just to keep him sweet if they start selling players again !
-
It seems more of a gesture to regular buyers rather than an offer to drag a few more in, at least I hope that's what it is.

An offshore tax haven for an Indian conglomerate ,,,,,,,,,,? -
Should have another good target man in the squad to come on a replace him then things aren't being forced to change every time he goes off !!!!

It would have bought a few good defenders that's for sure, never increase in value significantly like forwards though........... -
Wigan V ROVERS 28/11/18
tomphil replied to blueboy3333's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
That's how I felt about the Bell signing I thought he had potential and was quicker and would naturally take over as first choice LB, surely that's why we chased him, hung in there and paid a fee etc. Again nothing against Williams but i'd also see him as handy squad man rather than main man, Bell has been messed about a bit though especially when he first came so if you don't get a run then it's hard to nail down the spot. Personally now i'd be after a decent LB who's main attribute is he can defend and get rid of one of the other two it's time to dispense with this silly wing backs or 3 at the back as anything more than a desperate in game option. Neither full back out of the three of them ate good enough for it we've seen it time and again and when we go three at the back Mulgrew is all over the shop and Williams can't get to grips with knowing whether he should be left centre or left back ! -

Lack of width is another one especially with the two defensive mids as when they win the ball they should be slipping it quickly out to the wings to counter attack, that has actually served us well at times against the right opposition even though we've no proper wingers. Only works in certain games though so most of the time there is zero created or many good forward passes coming from centre mid. -
He mentioned things to that effect recently when he said about studying the opposition, do you put a strength against their strength or put a strength against a weakness and try and expose it. If you have a steady defender you leave him in this is the Championship not champions league they should be able to deal with what they come up against you can't be swapping them around every week because one opposition winger might be a second quicker than the one last week or the one next week is an inch taller so you swap again ffs. What bonkers is that how did the likes of Alan Wright ever have a career, there are also some slow full backs around but if they read the game right and have good timing they cope fine.

We went down with more or less the same defence, ok they got us back up but we are back to them struggling again at this level which is what a few of us feared might happen. Build from the back or in our case rebuild from the back, Mulgrew is about the only genuinely big guy we have yet he's not a robust type defender and he struggled with the muck and bullets of this league last time. Good footballer but not a commanding enough presence he needs a Hanley beside him and we need to forget about wing backs and get a solid back 4 who know and do their jobs in tandem. Then again the two deep sitting defensive mids who are supposed to protect the back 4 was a problem last time as we got overrun time and again in the middle at Champ level, Evans & Lowe has become Evans usually & Smallwood. If they aren't winning balls and protecting the back 4 they aren't much use because they don't create a thing or control the tempo. That's exactly were i'd start, at the back !
