Brereton still has to be paid for however it goes out the bank, the instalments will be a chunk of the next 4 years or so annual budgets so if it isn't increased or extra put in just for that when it's due then it's less money per year to play with.

So if you are busy people or maybe don't live together so only meet up a few times per week you can't go out on a Tuesday and do something nice because it isn't romantic ? I'm surprised there's any establishments open on that night then ?

Doesn't really matter if it's Wednesday or WBA on the 1st Jan the point still stands it's a decent fixture on a traditional football Bank Holiday so why not try and entice as many HOME fans to it as possible whilst there is the opportunity ? Instead they rely on a huge away following paying top price, the usual home hardcore plus a few extra's.

Can't help but agree although I think give TM 17 million to spend with the remit he has to spend in on four or so good players and I reckon he'd have a good stab at going to the Prem with Rovers. Tying big money up in one or two kind of goes against what he's been preaching.

Course it's a derby as is Bolton it's just not the fierce rival although the way some of the fans of both go on it might be to them. I've always had the hump with Preston same as some of them do with us, more so than Bolton to me although less than Burnley who will always remain a breed apart regardless of the other two being closer to me. Wigan, Blackpool, Oldham like Utd, City, Everton are just local games to me but Burnley, Bolton, Preston most definitely fall into derby category.

Great idea but Cheston and Waggot will see 3k plus Wendies paying top dollar as their priority ! Get the price down and get 20k plus through the doors instead eh ? Nice little test for you there boys, are you listening and are you serious about boosting home fans or just content to take the easy road and let visiting fans prop up the coffers forever ?????

Straight out of Bellamy's book that, he seemed to be a boyhood fan of all the clubs he played for except Rovers & Newcastle !
-
Well the DE lower was unreserved seating and was good for a few years before it lost its way again but it didn't get chance to revive itself this season and see if the feel good factor would increase its numbers a bit. I wouldn't be surprised if a good few of those regulars from in there aren't any more, not the way to go about increasing crowds is it in fact it's the polar opposite !

It's to cover extra staff in the ticket office for people rocking up before kick off ! 800x£3 = £2400 ------ Who's supplying the staff ? I want in the rates must be fantastic ! ?

What a muppet infested site that really is.... Rovers have Southern based fans but they're just w#an#ers who jumped on board in the 90's yet PNE have Southern based fans because they are people moved there from Preston. PNE have 2.5k wanting to watch them in the bottom tier yet John Beck steers them to promotion and 17k turn up v Northampton because they are a big club yet Rovers get a huge turnout v Oxford on promotion from league 1 and sell out (again) for a non tv game at dumpdale and it's because we are plastics only wanting to watch a winning team ? Mention the terms 'ironic' or 'double standards' in the liitle city and they stare blankly ahead and continue muttering about Sir Tom the only thing they are famous for ! If ever a player was bigger than his club it was him, but then again so was Sir Ron of Hilldersley ?

This ! It's a football stealth tax to rinse a few extra pounds out of punters, nothing more nothing less although the opposites and gullibles as usual toe the club spin line about getting in the right amount of pies or an extra bod at the window !

The 16k Prem gates in the redeveloped Ewood came in Hughes time after he'd just signed Bellamy etc, if i'm not mistaken they just stuck STs up quite a whack that close season.....
-
Thousands more walk ons than expected turned up at the last min, not sure why it wasn't all ticket in the first place though as was the norm back in the day when a big crowd was expected, many ST holders probably couldn't get in although i'm not sure there'd be many back then. Riverside was closed for rebuilding which meant reduced capacity plus Bradford brought a few, another classic Rovers crowd balls up, that would've gone down well on here had this existed ?
-
More touchy than normal tonight owd lad !
-
Pardon me for asking but which one are you ? ?
-
Or Anfield & City in't cup.
-
In order to be quicker I think they just serve you the tickets rather than asking for your name, postcode etc.

I don't think it would make a noticeable difference numbers wise if it was removed as like discussed it won't be keep thousands away and how would the club or anyone else know if people are making a decision based on that. What it does do is give a bit of bad press and it being constantly mentioned on here is an example of that, remove it and you remove another little negative vibe and it becomes good press. That's better in the bigger picture in terms of publicity and the 'listening club' line.

We are on about moving obstacles to encourage last min attenders re the surcharge not aiming that as a reason there's still thousands missing and as non descript to some the few extra quid is it WILL put a few off, dozens rather than hundreds but we want to encourage not discourage everyone. People from outlying areas probably won't bother too much but Joe Bloggs and his mates who go in the pub at lunchtime in Mill Hill or wherever in two minds just might. Alongside closing sections of the ground the way they have then the club has probably alienated 2/300 hundred regulars in recent years at a time when it's supposed to be rebuilding, repairing, re-engaging. That's not the way to do things with your hardcore support and neither is penalizing those who might want or can only make late decisions to attend home games however flimsy their last min choices may seem. Not everyone plans their day to day activities to the last move.

More the kind of stealth tax associated with Blairs Britain ! Thatcher would've closed football down by now....
-
It's just penny pinching at the end of the day just using another stealth method to try and squeeze a few extra quid out of non ST attending fans whilst covering it with the extra ticket office staff excuse. We aren't the only club guilty of it we've just jumped on board and thought 'why not'.
