  1. I think Reed is a pipe dream so TM should use him as much as possible so we can enjoy him whilst he's here, an inspired loan signing so far.
  2. Whilst it does detract from some of the main issues that want raising and i'm sure some at the club welcome his presence as a distraction from that maybe Mowbray wants to attend these things or sees it as his duty to do so ? We know the managers under Venkys are expected to have a hands on role and almost run everything then report back to them almost like a 'line' manager in their other businesses and it's taken years to get away from that a bit and them to realise that isn't how football at high level works. Just think it might simply be down to the all in it together approach from the staff on the ground these days, the shadow man/men will always be that they'll never be held accountable. Waggot to be fair doesn't seem to shy away from anything although that is his job after all.
  3. Only same as Bolton they always market the Rovers game as derby day yet to us it's just Preston or Bolton A Lancashire derby. Probably just because of our fixation with Burnley or maybe we are just miserable ?
  4. There was a lot of bigger numbers before that though before they shut the door for a brief spell and cashed in the playing assets instead hence why I thought he might be referring to average of 25 mill. At least he isn't doing the spin like the guy on sky of Venkys 'investing' 30 million every season into Blackburn Rovers that was routinely trotted out every live game not long ago, also he said keeping us going not 'investing' which sounds better to me.
  5. They wouldn't have flown off the shelves at 34 quid they just wouldn't but maybe the 2500 mentioned would still have bought them because they are one off attenders. Not sure this game is the best one for Waggot to be highlighting this kind of thing though as even way back in the day when crowds were tiny Rovers would take one coach to a midlands game but could still find 5 or 6 thousand to go to Burnley, often more than a home crowd at Ewood !!!
  6. Maybe he's just using the 25 mill per season figure as an average over the time they've been here as I thought the whole point in recent years was to get that figure down otherwise as costs fall there should be a good surplus in the pot now. Or perhaps that's just the figure that gets written off on the company books per year in India for the club ......
  7. If they are going to do things with more free tickets for schools initiatives etc get them in the BBE upper, you know that bit that used to be the family stand, not the bloody Darwen end next to away fans !!!!! Blackburn enders of the future learning our chants not away fans songs and abuse, little things like that show the lack of actual thinking sometimes.
  8. Nobbers I know aren't confident at all for tomorrow which is a marked contrast to the last few times we've played them, it has me slightly worried to be honest as I think Preston can still be a real handful when up for it although it does have a bit of a feel of the Lambert game over there to it so i'll settle for that result ! However we like a draw so... Throbbers 2 Rovers 2
  9. Finney was worth the extra couple of farthings.....is Dacky ? ?
  10. I have heard the tale from a dear departed PNE fan in his 90's that queue's used to form around lunchtime before the turnstiles opened that were heaving only for loads to turn away after standing there ages and go home before getting in if word went around Finney wasn't playing.
  11. Wharton is obviously not cutting the mustard at the moment that's why he's not getting in or maybe they have another who's suddenly hit form and is unexpectedly better. I've had issue in the past at Rovers were we.ve had loans in and just seemingly found them places in the team despite not really being on form but presumably we've promised their clubs a certain number of appearances so no issue with Wharton not playing although it's disappointing but the experience of being involved will still do him good.
  12. That's a fair point worth considering.
  13. Ask a PNE fan and he'll say no way are we drinking around Blackburn anyway as there is nowhere they are most likely to go somewhere else or start early in their own back yard and come straight to ewood then back. It's a flimsy excuse to move kick offs at Ewood all the time when our neighbours don't for similar fixtures. probably more to do with traffic than anything else though.
  14. When they are going retro on the kits i'd like to see them hark back to the late 80's or early 90's versions for a change instead of every few years these powder blue affairs. We know the history but it's more likely something to do with the suppliers and what they have to hand !
  15. Player development, it was in his blood I think he was applying the youth principles to the first team because he really didn't know any different. Also there was the Lowe issue which has been done to death but it was always going to be him they tried to build the team around. Marshall was another, right wing one week left wing another, number 10 then right back, pity Ben didn't have the consistency nor the mentality to keep his head up or he'd have been another big money sale on GB's resume. As would captain fantastic had he actually been any good, frustrating stuff at the time for a lot of us fans but looking back and using the words of a forked tongued reptile 'we could see what he was trying to do there'.
  16. Similar feelings on GB although I think his main instruction from above was grow a team in value rather than go all out for promotion. He did however deserve to be allowed to reinvest a bit of what he'd helped bring in after the fire sale started. Rumours he'd always fancied selling Rhodes then using that money to rebuild but that was never going to happen they just got Lambert in to be the fall guy for that one with the hope a few big loans would be enough to go up. eejits !
  17. Weekend only sale first come first served 1000 ten quid tickets in the Riverside for WBA ! Why not ? Or buy one full price get entitled to another for a tenner so that maybe those going and buying anyway bring an extra so nobody is losing out really.
  18. What a good idea that would be for a festive home fixture maybe like the one on NYD at Ewood even if it was just in one stand.
  19. Decent striker on loan with a few goals in him to help out up front = just the ticket but would prefer someone with a bit of presence and height about him.
  20. Yep the Academy seems to be the one real legacy of Jack they've truly respected and amid all the chaos over the last 8 years whoever has held firm on that and advised its continued funding deserves a pat on the back at least.
  21. On the other side of the coin he's also published the takings sheet from their home game v Barnsley to highlight how important visiting fans are to Stanley........ Don't think our lot need any encouragement on that front !
  22. Tesco = Middlebrook Asda = Wigan Post Office = Any one you can actually find these days !
  23. I'm sure I remember the trust completely writing off about 80 million in loans from Jack a few years after his death. Doubt Jack ever took a penny back himself although he may have looked after a few people/family via the club but the flow of money under Venkys is a whole different ball game i'd say in terms of where it all comes from and where some of it has gone. Doubt even they know !
  24. It's money they want to get rid of one way or another so leave them to it it's their name over the door so their responsibility. At least now some of it sticks to the sides instead of flowing straight through the pipes and the club not individuals seem to be benefitting and that's more like how it should be.
  25. We need a cinema thread..... Sat night I paid just under 20 quid for two adults at Middlebrook. Didn't book em though so don't know if they were offers or not I just paid, as you do ?
