Because I have seen Hirst and Markanday play, neither deserve to be anywhere near the first team.

If JDT thinks that Hirst is worth a first- team squad place, that is his perogative. I will not be wasting any more money on the Rovers until we start picking players on merit.

From what I have seen, Hirst is much worse than any of those you mentioned. They had poor application, Hirst has shown no redeeming qualities what-so-ever.

I prefer to have my game-changers on the pitch, rather than on the bench.

If Markanday was to be played through the middle, he might have a chance, as he has a good shot on him. If he is played wide he will do nothing.

I would keep Tomasson. I hate making knee jerk decisions. It is only halfway through his first season, and although a lot of performances have been poor, we are third. Earlier in the season, people were asking our young players to show loyalty to the club by signing contracts. Loyalty works both ways.

Phillips doesn't need to be the direct replacement for Ayala. We also have Hyam, Wharton and Carter.
