You stated that this squad we have now, is weaker than the one relegated, personally I don't agree. The one major improvement is in the manager, who seems to get more out of players. As for the league being tougher we will have to wait and see. I honestly think that we will have enough to compete at this level, but that is only an opinion.

I should think, same as most systems, it will depend on what the manager thinks of the opposition.

Personally I think he has improved, that does not make him a good player. I see his major asset as being his recovery after a mistake, he has to learn to cut the mistakes out in the first place.

The strange thing is when I was kid, most people grew up playing numbers 4 and 6, as left or right half backs, it seemed a natural and easy formation to play. The only prerequisites was that the half-backs needed to be fit, have a good football brain, could pass and could tackle. Players not gifted with outstanding pace or skill loved playing half back.
