  1. Dowling did his stuff as needed. Hugely impressed by the Doncaster manager. His team are fit disciplined brilliantly organised and tactics spot on. He deserves a chance to work with better players.
  2. Whitman neat holding position well, good accurate passing and one phenomenal tackle upfield which should have made a goal. Nerveless penalty too. But in a game like that too quiet to be potential championship promotion material. Bauer out muscled and out jumped for Doncaster second and utterly AWOL for the third. No thanks.
  3. Good to see Bury survive until their next crisis. Watched Pompey v Sunderland in back ground last night. Both clubs woefully short on quality. Sunderland several players short of what will be needed to survive if they go up. Ref extremely lenient with the cards also.
  4. I spy with my little eye.. Leeds 2 Derby 4 Have to say there is justice in Leeds getting bombed out at Elland Road. Felt all season that Leeds were a manager without a football squad to match his talents. Any Prem club sniffing around could do a lot worse than taking him from Leeds.
  5. Play-offs had been missing that magic ingredient this season, until I switched on my phone after arrival last night.....
  6. I am proud supporting a club which looks after its players so well and so considerately. I am not in football but I know in business when a relatively small considerate and generous gesture gets known about and helps in perception as a place good people want to go to work at or do business with.
  7. Huge well done and thanks to one and all!
  8. When will we know when we are in it?
  9. Fylde former accountant pleaded guilty for defrauding the club of £250k over 30 months to pay for gifts for his model girlfriend. I bet Accy would notice that sort of money missing.
  10. Celtic reached the UEFA Cup Final after knocking us out in 2003. Celtic didn't survive the qualifying rounds for the Champions League this season. 20 years ago, teams in the Scottish Premier used to beat English Premier League clubs in the UEFA Cup but now outside the Glasgow Old Firm, I very much doubt any Scottish club would be much above mid-table in the Championship. Old Firm clubs are about Burnley level.
  11. Media bigged this up to be a 48,000 sell out. I wonder what went wrong?
  12. https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2019/may/10/great-english-football-moment-champions-league-forged-overseas?utm_term=RWRpdG9yaWFsX0d1YXJkaWFuVG9kYXlVS19XZWVrZW5kLTE5MDUxMQ%3D%3D&utm_source=esp&utm_medium=Email&utm_campaign=GuardianTodayUK&CMP=GTUK_email
  13. I jinxed Baggies good and proper!
  14. Nothing, it is lost to English football and the qualifying stages are arranged for another club to get in to the League stage. Valletta FC are rooting for Chelsea....
  15. Parker's last four games include 3 wins after losing 5 on the bounce. Suspect he good be pretty useful with them in the Championship. Meanwhile my tip of Baggies to come through the play-offs going OK so far.
  16. Rodwell still a possibility. Sounds like curtains for Gladwin, Downing might be bought by Doncaster. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17621814.jack-rodwell-could-stay-at-rovers-despite-italian-interest/?ref=ar Raya number 1 keeper going forwards https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17621809.raya-still-rovers-no1-as-mowbray-explains-leutwiler-run/?ref=ar Mowbray finished player talks- some contracted players might get offered out. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17624330.rovers-boss-concludes-player-meetings-as-retained-list-nears/?ref=ar
  17. David Conn‏ @david_conn Football support a modern, growing phenomenon in England: EFL declares record attendances at clubs across its 3 divisions, total crowds 18.3m, highest in 60 years, since 1958-59, an era before TV coverage.
  18. Became clear in January players we were chasing were unavailable on price and wages in our plan. Issue now is still finding quality on the right terms, either on loan or purchased. Not expecting us to us our full 5 loan places but one or two of high calibre are highly probable. Rovers are in a much stronger position getting top quality loanees than we were 12 months ago. If you are feeling envious of signing Graeme Shinnie, good luck to you.
  19. I am happy with the current format. Agnelli proposals sound horrific.
  20. Given the amount of body art, perhaps we should just play in skins?
  21. Loans are going to be mission critical. Abraham has made a huge difference wherever he has gone. Which players on the fringes of PL clubs should we be looking at?
  22. Still expect either Chelsea or Arsenal (or both) to mess up tonight. But if we see two all English European finals, worth remembering that perhaps only 6 players in the starting 44 would be available for selection for England and all the Managers will be non-English.
  23. Crazy bonkers. Ajax cut open through the middle by Spurs pace and determination too often to survive for all their brilliance.
