We have drawn Walsall at home.

The draw for the first round of the Carabao Cup is live on Sky Sports News at 2.30. We are ball number four. Hopefully a home game or an away match not too far away. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2023/june/22/rovers-to-be-ball-number-four-/

On the face of it Sigurdsson appears to be another good signing. Generally Scandinavian players have a really good work ethic and are easy to manage. Hopefully he has some real ability to go with that and we could well have a gem.

Not Premier League but fan power has won this little battle. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/65962426

Sam Szmodics-Your thoughts?

I hope he shapes up better on the pitch. 😂😂 -
The old 'mutual consent' reason. In other words we'll pay you to keep your gob shut.

I know I shouldn't be surprised at anything in football after 60+ years but that is stunning news. Just what do these owners want (I'm including the Bournemouth one too) when their appointed manager achieves their objective. Football really is like no other business and stupid decisions like today's confirm this.

There are only three scheduled games for clubs in October and November but seven in December. There are International breaks in these months plus another in September with a Winter break scheduled for January when there are only two league matches (plus FA Cup) arranged.

We did but lots of teams who were in similar positions reported an increase. As the report says many clubs came out of Covid into a stronger position primarily because fans were eager to get back to watching football and had some spare cash. We simply didn't. I recall vividly some dialogue I and several others had about refunds for the aborted season. These were dismissed out of hand by Waggott who felt that an iPlayer subscription would provide an adequate alternative. Lots of clubs reduced the price of season tickets for the following season accordingly and reaped the benefits. Again we didn't and that falls straight into the lap of Waggott.

From the latest report from Deloitte. https://news.sky.com/story/premier-league-leads-european-financial-dominance-but-championship-clubs-living-beyond-their-means-12902315 And an extract from the article. "Following the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions, fans' pent-up demand gave rise to record matchday and commercial revenues across Europe.

Why bring Wigan in as an example, why didn't you use Bolton? Personally I can't forget how they have damaged our club, the infrastructure but more importantly Jack's legacy. I won't forgive them for the twelve years of mismanagement when they bought the best run club in the country so I can't or, more importantly will not 'move on' like you advise. I will never be beholden to them for, as you put it keeping us afloat.

I've posted before about the buses which are privately used for every home game and depart from several pubs at the top end of Darwen. It's a thankless task sometimes to organise these but credit goes to the guys who arrange them. Rovers have absolutely no input into these and it's been suggested several times to the club that they could organise a similar scheme from outlying areas but once again this was rebuffed by the club (I might be wrong but my recollection is that it has been discussed at the Fans Forum). I can say confidently that quite a few who use this service wouldn't go if they had to make their own way and had to walk part of the way. We get dropped off at EWMC and picked up behind what was the Albion pub and it costs £4.

Jon Dahl Tomasson - Sweden coach

I recall a banner the Green Brigade held up the first game after he left. It said YOU TRADED IMMORTALITY FOR MEDIOCRITY. I wonder where that is now 😂😂. -
23/24 kit; is a new sponsor needed?
arbitro replied to alex l's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
With the exposure we had last season Totally Wicked certainly got their money's worth and if I was looking to attract a new sponsor that (along with the extra televised games next season) should be high on the agenda when negotiating. And surely the huge spend our owners must have with their suppliers should be used to bring in extra cash through sponsorship. That however means some of our people coming out of their comfort zones and actually doing what they get paid to do. -
It was at Millwall. It would have been interesting had he done it in front of their baying hordes 😂😂

Hanson Cup - Can you help?

Was your father a local man? Did he do National Service anywhere? -
As you rightly say it's a sensible decision. Hopefully the multi ball will be the spare balls on cones dotted around the pitch rather than young kids giving spare balls to players. Hopefully the referees have a unified approach to time wasting and add every second of lost time to negate the spoiling tactics of some teams.
