  1. I read they will have a new stand built very quickly like Blackpool did when they went up. They also have to improve media and disabled facilities.
  2. Congratulations to Luton. It's a fantastic achievement for a club with quite meagre resources but they make up for that with a spirit money can't buy. Their manager seems a good sort but as much as I dislike Nathan Jones some credit has to go to him. I'm looking forward to some of the big time millionaires in the Premier League seeing the facilities at Kenilworth Road.
  3. He was the best despite his aberration at Palace.
  4. The Championship play-off final has been a Select Group one referee for some time now. I suppose the logic is you want the best referee on the game with such huge rewards. And Oliver is the best in this country by a long way.
  5. Credit to Robins for a brave half time substitution and a change of shape - that's what good managers do. His better players got on the ball and deservedly equalised. It's up for grabs now and it could hinge on a mistake though fatigue.
  6. Luton are calling the shots in the first half. They get the ball forward early and at every opportunity and put the ball into the penalty area for Morris and Adebayo to get something on it. Pretty simple but effective with hardly any risk taking just to retain possession. Robins has his work cut out and the encouragement for him must be that they aren't more than one down.
  7. I haven't read that anywhere on this board so I assume you have posted it to offer up some veiled praise for our owners. Or just being provocative and looking for an argument.
  8. As far as I can see he isn't underperforming in their eyes. He was boasting recently about reaching his target on season ticket revenue so I assume from that they see him a performing rather than asking why we have thousands of empty seats, why we ran out of merchandise before Christmas and why four players have walked for nothing (amongst a whole host of other issues). It's the perfect storm for him. I can't stand Waggott but I see him more as a symptom of these awful owners.
  9. Radio Rovers was ground breaking as the first of its kind I believe. It was the ideal pre match build up with interviews across the whole range of match day people included Steve Patrick, the then groundsman. I remember a section entitled Rhythms of the Blues when players and staff would do an interview and it was interspersed with some of their favourite songs. We had Wendy reading the teams out an hour before kick off. And Rovers TV was excellent and featured a wide range of topics which actually appealed to the majority of fans. Now it's too much trouble to actually have a camera on the pitch at half time when we have special guests being interviewed. Rovers TV even used to cover the half time draw so it could be seen on the big screen.N Another example of the dumbing down we have endured under the errant ones.
  10. I wish Pedersen would have told them about Anderson when he was running riot at Ewood. And Kean. And Shaw. And Agnew. And Singh. Ad nauseam.
  11. Big Sam couldn't lose with this Leeds job. He will get a reported £3m bonus for keeping them up but if not be will earn more in a few weeks than a lot of people will do in a decade. Such is the crazy world of football. It will be interesting if Leeds do to down. They have lots of foreigners who won't fancy the Championship but they aren't really worth much if they are sold. They also have egotistical owners who have proved to be loose cannons in the past.
  12. If that is true why are the owners not questioning the role of Waggott, Pasha and if Broughton was there at the time him too?
  13. Did his agent write that? 😂 The man is a professional blagger of which there are too many in football but there are still gullible people running football clubs who fall for it.
  14. It was said in commentary the other night that they will have to spend £10m to get their dilapidated ground ready for Premier League football. This includes better facilities for disabled supporters and the media. I was told that Rovers would have had to spend several million too had we gone up.
  15. I agree. He is probably the most considered and insightful summariser at the moment. I refereed him a few times and there was no edge to him at all. He was pleasant, articulate and had an understanding of what my role was.
  16. Isaac Whitehall was the most promising youngster from his group but unfortunately injury has curtailed the best part of the last two years. Hopefully he can get fit, stay injury free and fulfil his potential. It's good that Rovers are offering him a deal after his injuries too.
  17. I wouldn't be too happy with Ferguson if I was a Peterborough fan. Don Goodman summed it up in commentary when he said they needed to go long, back to front quickly and get the Sheffield defenders turning. Instead they insisted on playing out from the back and played right into Sheffields hands. I guess he is one of the 'principled' generation of managers who don't want to play and other way to get results.
  18. I liked Ayala and thought he was our best defender when fit but his release comes no surprise to me. A big earner with injury issues isn't and good to us anymore as the wage bill is driven down. I also think there is an element of Tomasson wanting to build his own squad and neither Dack or Ayala fit what he wants. There are echoes of last summer here when we lost three players for nothing (albeit two have not been offered terms) and my wider concern is still that Tomasson doesn't get the backing he wants and as importantly deserves.
  19. Bradley Dack was a really good fit for Rovers when he signed. Although he was a slow burner to start with he soon enjoyed a great partnership with Danny Graham which brought us lots of goals. He had the X Factor, that extra but if class that could win matches, doing things no other Rovers player was capable of. I really enjoyed watching him and his terrible luck with injuries undoubtedly hindered him and is one of the prime reasons for him going. He will get fixed up and hopefully comes back to Ewood one day to receive the acclaim he deserves.
  20. Which makes no sense at all when he was still training with Forest on the afternoon of January 31st. He was allegedly told of our interest, got showered and changed and hot footed to Manchester. If it was set up beforehand why was he even training on deadline day.
  21. Here is a novel idea. Get the transfers and deals done earlier, don't leave it until the last few hours. If you get knocked back early in the window look at the next target. That is what we have a recruitment department for.
  22. Hopefully they were adult tickets so Waggott's wages for today are covered.
  23. He has a financial target to hit and knows that the loyal 8-9000 will buy them so for him it's mission accomplished. In my view he is lazy and just doesn't seem to be interested in growing the club by increasing our fan base. It's a really selfish way for a Chief Executive to go about his business but as long as he is allowed to them he will. The real problem though lies several thousand miles away.
  24. I was told some time ago that Blackpool's preferred choice is Pete Wild from Barrow.
