  1. The Craven Heifer on Pole Lane normally run a bus. Just call the pub and ask if Shaun is running a coach.
  2. I used to joke with Faz that he nearly got a few Rovers fan's killed because of that goal. I had to explain to him why but anybody there that night will understand. He found it funny at first, by the tenth time I told him he was bored 😂😂
  3. A good manager would deflect any perceived pressure on to himself away from the players. This bloke keeps heaping it back to the players by talking about it in lots of interviews. It's strange he didn't mention it when we won ten in eleven earlier this season.
  4. I was going to try and have a couple of Mowbray free days but after just seeing his interview I feel narked. He refers to pressure again and the players not handling it too well over recent months. He really should look in the mirror as, based on the evidence of the last five years he doesn't handle pressure too well. His death spirals (of which he has overseen several) are real evidence of this.
  5. Well, well, well. Where did that performance come from? On the evidence of the last couple of months I doubt anybody, including Mowbray and the players, was that coming. It was full of intensity, pride, purpose, attacking and positive play, four qualities we have been glaringly lacking for some time. I'm still glowing from the performance but as the players came over at the end I couldn't help thinking that tonight could have been a promotion party and what a way to have done it. Highlight of the game for me was the goal from Travis. The pass to him, his touch and finish made me happier than I've been for a while at a game. It changes nothing for me though in my thoughts and opinion of Mowbray and his staff. Throw Waggott and the owners into that too but for the next couple of days I'm going to bask in what I thought was the performance of the season.
  6. Another pearler is that if you used the direct debit scheme then you have paid more than you would have done had you bought individual match tickets.
  7. I'm hearing that the best right back at the club has been dropped in favour of a centre half who isn't really a good right back. If that decision is in the best interests of this club then I will plait piss.
  8. I can't recall a time when I was less enthused about watching Rovers play. The way our season has crashed and burned is scandalous. The malaise around Rovers right now is getting to an all time low for many and something needs to happen to address this. Getting new owners who actually seem to give a toss would be great but as that's unlikely then sacking the whole cabal of Waggott, Mowbray and the coaches will do for starters. I honestly don't know what to expect from us tonight. I really want to beat this lot otherwise they will be crowing again in their green eyed way. Although still mathematically possible I really don't think the playoffs are realistic so some pride from the players will do for starters. I don't want to see Mowbrays sloped shoulders, hands on head and all his other annoying traits. In fact let the players take charge as the did for the second half against Derby whilst Mowbray sulks.
  9. Somebody with their finger on the pulse told me that if you bought individual tickets for the last five games it would have cost you £90 but Rovers had this super 'final five' offer on for £99. Absolutely brilliant!
  10. The cloud that could be Burnley staying up could be tempered by the silver lining of Everton going down. That's a win/nearly win for me. 😁😁😁
  11. What about giving three and four year deals to players who were 30+? And contracts awarded for simply doing their jobs like Evans and Smallwood? He has cost this club millions in wages on injury prone and cross players
  12. He has certainly reverted to type in this respect. On our winning run it was essentially a settled side, system and way of playing. Now it's baffling what formation we are playing and most of his substitutions necessitate several positional changes for the players. And then it's real head scratching time. I would settle for the type of performance and result when we beat them at Ewood. We were strong, energetic, resilient and did the basics right.
  13. A good quality, ambitious manager would look at several things, some of which we will hugely fail in. Firstly the players he inherits. Well at the moment with the loans and out of contract players going back we couldn't really name enough to fill the bench. And the ability of some of them leaves a lot to be desired. He will want guarantees on budgets both for wages and transfers. With the talk of a 'wage cap' getting in established Championship quality players will be difficult. The transfer budget will no doubt be curtailed by P&S although other clubs don't seem to be worried about it like us. The facilities we have would appeal to a decent manager as would the Academy, particularly if he has a history of developing youngsters. On the other hand desperados like Coyle and Grayson would jump at the chance to get back in the limelight. They are cheap, will toe the line and be completely subservient to the owners. If Mowbray does go I believe that is the market we will be in.
  14. There is hardly any positive incentives to renew and yet Waggott and the owners charge the same price and want to sting any new applications with a surcharge. Given that inflation is running wild and there is huge pressures on families how on earth do they expect lots of people to renew let alone attract new ones. Factor in the poor form of recent months and a huge scaling back of the squad then what reasons are there to existing and potential new season ticket who to commit a fair chunk of money? Had they been on sale in February when we were flying high with an early bird type incentive then we might have shifted a decent amount. That ship has sailed and once again we will be looking at a record low number of sales only this time Waggott can't hide behind Covid.
  15. The inconsistency just makes it worse for me. I saw half hearted challenges, not tracking back and idleness. Man United players have been rightly criticised for their attitudes recently and to me Southampton were equally as bad. And the fact that several hundred fan's made an arduous journey to support them sums up their poor attitude.
  16. I'm embarrassed for Southampton. Several hundred fan's travelled from the South coast and the players are tossing it off.
  17. I have only just noticed this is a 7.30 kick off not the usual 7.45. Personally it suits me and I think lots of others will welcome it but once again Sky are pulling the strings.
  18. In the months before my retirement John the real difficulty was motivation for me. As I got closer to the day the harder it was to show any enthusiasm. Perhaps Mowbray has been on this 'journey' too.
  19. And maybe I'm reading too much into it John but aren't Warburton and Bruce out of contract at the end of the season too.
  20. And how many of our youngsters might be coerced into signing for Sheron as their agent? The stench currently coming from Ewood and Brockhall is horrible.
  21. Being a dull Darrener Andy I had to read it twice but nearly wet myself when the penny dropped.
  22. The letter at the head of the article blows the 'badly advised' myth out of the water. They were told by the then incumbents at Ewood that what they were doing contravened FA regs. And the signatories ended up leaving as Venkys and their 'advisors' ruined our club. Bastards the lot of them.
  23. I have been reliably informed that they are indeed cousins and that Dave Sheron is still very much pulling Suhails strings.
