  1. I have checked all the local news outlets and there is no mention of any negotiations with Brereton and his representatives about a new deal. Every one reports on the twelve month trigger but nothing about a new deal. I'm not saying they haven't but normally the club would make mention of it especially as the extension was so newsworthy. It was only in early May when it was announced about his extension leaving me to believe it wasn't confirmed to his representatives until shortly before that.
  2. The demographics of the sale of season tickets would be interesting. Waggott was quoted in a recent interview of a £4m season ticket sale target. If we sell more than last season it would be peddled as positive by the spin doctors but, as an example a friend has bought each of his two grandchildren a season ticket for the first time at £60 but to counter that his adult son has given his ticket up which would have cost £459. It would be interesting if a Fans Forum member could ask about sales and the revenue from them.
  3. You are right but when he proved the majority of us wrong by January new contract negotiations should have been the absolute priority.
  4. It looks like the Hartlepool friendly will go ahead as ticket information has been announced. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2022/june/27/hartlepool-friendly-ticket-information/
  5. I read it as a general expenditure comment like 'probably another £100k' on top of the other things.
  6. If you read the article Waggott says £100k is being spent on the pitches. Why would he say that if it's not true. That is my research - reading what the CEO tells the local media. It's not a figure I dreamt up, Waggott is quoted as saying it. So is he being untruthful? And by saying pitches I assume this is for Brockhall too.
  7. They got all that done for £100k? https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/20235418.blackburn-rovers-ceo-losing-lenihan-rothwell-nyambe-free-transfers/
  8. He doesn't come across as very bright. He boasting 600 new season tickets, the sales are roughly the same so what about the 600 regular ones we've lost. Also he says he understands people can't make every match but at £17 per game it's good value. That £17 goes up when fans miss games, particularly night matches. Interestingly he talks about £4m being the target through season ticket sales. Being a bit more creative on pricing and selling more would have achieved that in my view with the added benefit of more bums on seats. I really don't think he was prepared to gamble on the off chance it backfired and he would be questioned by the errant ones. As it is he can say sales are the same (he is actually saying he is encouraged) and blame the cost of living etc. Time to go Swag. Hand over to someone who knows what they are doing.
  9. I think we sold our original allocation and asked for more. Stanley put out a message for any of their fan's who had bought tickets in two blocks of the Studio Stand to contact them and be relocated to another part of the ground. As the game is two weeks away and JDT's first I would expect us to sell out. I have actually bought tickets through Stanley and would expect other Rovers fans to do the same.
  10. The way I see it is we either tie him down to a new deal or sell him but whichever way it has to be before the window closes. If it's the latter the money we get simply has to be given to the manager but either option wouldn't bother me. We can't risk another situation where an asset walks away for nothing by letting it drag on. But at the snails pace things move down there it wouldn't surprise me.
  11. I fear this new wage structure will be tested to the limit when (or if) they start discussing a new deal with Brereton. My real fear is that we could be talking about exactly the same thing this time next year. As someone pointed out earlier everything is last minute. Player negotiations, season tickets, incoming players and approval above a certain level of spend. It's a appalling way to run a business.
  12. We did at Morecambe when we played them and Stanley but they were both full games of 90 minutes. One memory of that day was the excellence of the Morecambe catering. Knowing fans would be there for around four hours they had a great choice including pasta.
  13. I heard similar and for me it sums up the dysfunctional way we are run. The manager and CEO see real merit in bringing some money in for a player who they knew would leave for nothing only for that to be scuppered by Pasha who in turn advised the owners accordingly. Mowbray himself said he had two players lined up with the Rothwell money and who knows, that could have got us over the line. That's why I sincerely hope that Broughton is given his head with no interference otherwise I think the most promising thing to happen to us for years will end in tears.
  14. I'm pretty sure they are exempt as it's not wages and transfer costs. If you remember Waggot bragged about a new Desso pitch being installed last summer at a cost of a few million which the owners reneged on leaving him red faced. As it wouldn't have impigned on P&S it threw the 'never refuse to sign a cheque' theory into serious doubt. Disclaimer - I'm not blaming Waggott for this 😃
  15. How does a message board equate to a work place environment? Despite the dross we endured under Mowbray how often was the match day environment negative? A few boos and 'Mowbray sort it out' chants? for context this is a message board of which the vast majority of Rovers fans won't be aware of let alone the new manager.
  16. Obviously we didn't but you said 'Even if we had got fees for the three of them, we would not have seen any of it for replacements.' like you knew we wouldn't have spent it. This implied you knew for sure.
  17. So a few supporters being critical on a message board might end up with the new manager leaving? I actually know some of the 'doom mongers' who very rarely miss matches and support the team. It is what it says on the tin a message board.
  18. Could it be conceivable this season that Preston and Burnley will have sold more season tickets than what our average attendance will be?
  19. Thanks, that's the one I couldn't remember.
  20. I quite like the idea myself. It gives Rovers and Stanley a great opportunity to look at lots of players and formations, it's perfect for the players to have an hour of decent intensity given it's the first game and as spectators we get excellent value for money. Great thinking from JDT, can you imagine Mowbray coming up with something so novel. 😂😂
  21. Particularly if you factor in the season ticket holders unavailability through work, holidays etc. For example I called to see my youngest brother yesterday and he said that due to pre booked holidays he is missing three home matches before the World Cup hiatus. I'd love to see the figures of everyone who uses their ticket 23 times against those who don't. I would desperately loved to have seen some imagination in this season's offers but 'twas ever this under this shower.
  22. He actually used the word 'pitches' which implies to me that included Brockhall too.
  23. It emerged at the end of last season, given the various offers that it worked out cheaper to pay for individual matches than to buy a season ticket on direct debit. There was also another fact about season tickets vs match tickets but I can't remember it.
