  1. Does anybody know if the new kits in children's sizes will have the Totally Wicked logo on them? I have had a quick look at what is and isn't allowed but I can't find anything specific to vaping products.
  2. Bloody hell mate don't apologise 😄😄. You have done some sterling work which I'm sure has been appreciated by everyone.
  3. The other side of the coin is that in a year he is a free agent and any suitors wouldn't have to pay a fee for him. Any agent will tell you this is Manna from Heaven for them in getting an exceptional deal for their clients. It's a difficult one but my choice would be not to run the risk of this and try and sell him now but him and his representatives have all the aces here.
  4. I have a feeling this one might end in tears. As you rightly say he needs to be offered a deal that can keep him here for another couple of years (with caveats) straight away as if this goes beyond the Summer window and he hasn't signed his value will drop alarmingly. I worry about this 'wage structure' (which came to light last season) could really impede any negotiations and he walks for nothing next summer. My personal view is cash in now and don't run the risk of blowing a potential £20m sale especially when you consider we have already lost two (possibly three) players in similar circumstances.
  5. Until last Monday Carvahal and Farke would have absolutely been my preference but right now I'm glad we have JDT over them. There is a freshness to him, an exuberance that I haven't seen for many years. His meeting of all the employees was a masterstroke and immediately got everything off to a positive start. If course he could crash and burn, it goes without saying but right now I'm more content about the football side of our club than I have been for a long time.
  6. I really don't think we will be shifting any players out (with the exception of BBD) until our new coaching team have thoroughly assessed everyone and their suitability to play the way JDT wants to play. I think these pre season games will tell us a lot about the new managers ethos and requirements from players and anybody not able to comply will go, perhaps in January. It really is something I'm excited to see evolve over the next few months.
  7. What an iconic picture this is. There is something evocative about a black and white photograph. The concentration shown by Ronnie Clayton is terrific. Probably my favourite Rovers photograph. Mind you the Liverpool manager might have asked a question of two mahogany four of his team were marking nobody.
  8. What really sticks in my craw is somebody down there only needed to read this thread (or speak to fans) to get lots of ideas and initiatives they could have considered. Things like an 18 (or whatever) game ticket for shift workers and schoolchildren with an option to buy individual tickets for the extra games by giving the club notice of their intent. And priced accordingly. Similarly giving the club notice of non attendance and their seat could be sold. That amongst many other suggestions would have increased revenue in my view but more importantly the club had nothing to lose. But instead we got a 'price freeze' offer which stunk of laziness. In fact since then they have pushed the deadline date back twice and introduced the new family ticket which appears to have gone down like a lead balloon. No imagination and no foresight in such an important income stream.
  9. And keep them in situ (which in itself then begs a question - why). From what your saying Pasha must be complicit and happy with the incompetence or is he of that ilk too?
  10. And the real worry in my view is that they really do think it's an exceptional gesture.
  11. I think we are broadly agreeing here. Of course I want us to win in an exciting way but most of I just want to win.
  12. I remember years ago seeing a Norman Wisdom film which was made in Darwen but it seemed to disappear off the face of the earth. I found this five minute clip though and any Darreners will recognise some of the buildings.
  13. Winning surpasses anything else in professional sport. Success on the pitch (or lack of it) pretty much dictates everything that happens elsewhere in the club. The feeling of winning in any manner massively outweighs the feeling of playing nice football and not winning. However each to their own.
  14. Thankfully somebody used common sense and got rid of the £30 surcharge (why on earth is it there in the first place) as they sense a surge of interest following Tomassons appointment but this is effectively the second extension of the deadline. Once again questions are quite rightly being asked about the suitability of people down there making decisions. I personally don't think they will ever learn.
  15. I was thinking about this today when it came to me in a flash of inspiration that they actually have done refunds before. In the Covid effected season anybody who bought a season ticket was offered a refund minus the cost of watching each game on iPlayer (£230). The refund was deducted from the following seasons price of a season ticket.
  16. Stanley are asking their own supporters who have bought tickets in two blocks of the Studio Stand to contact the club for our friendly there. My guess is there is such a demand from Rovers that Stanley can't accommodate them all and are moving their own fans to another area. The JDT effect is upon us.
  17. Most of the posts about refunds (I think many from people who have already bought them) is a discount for next season rather than some actual cash back now. Another suggestion is a voucher for the shop, free shirt or leisure wear. I do accept that anything radical now would be a gamble but it's one the club have to take. Whichever way the club can't continue to bury it's head in the sand and needs to do something sooner rather than later. It would be great if somebody at the club did something along these lines and said sorry we got this wrong. That, from a PR point of view would go down really well in my view.
  18. I was going to say similar Gav. It's packed full of quality British actors and actresses and the storyline is gripping and turning into a real whodunit. On a similar theme one of my favourite films is still Brassed Off which, whilst being generally a comedy has a serious undertone to it. Coco the Scab still makes me laugh. Early on in my refereeing career I was at Rotherham who were playing Chesterfield. Sporadically during the game I heard chants of 'scab, scab' directed at the Chesterfield fans. I asked one of the locals after the game and he explained what is was about with the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire miners not going on strike. I heard it many times subsequently and even in the recent Sheffield United against Forest playoff game.
  19. Listening to JDT in his early interviews it sounds like he wants to give us an identity, something we have been lacking for a long time now. I sincerely hope he is given his head in the transfer market and his judgement backed. Pre season is going to be really interesting and hopefully as we get closer to July 30th we can see things developing. It's only early days but after five years of Mowbray droning on it's good to see our manager actually smiling.
  20. If he really is from California he could buy a season ticket and donate it to someone if he thinks they are reasonably priced. Let him out his money where his mouth is.
  21. California dreaming!
  22. Some serious ability there.
  23. I think he makes some salient points. Over to you Swagster.
  24. I'm not keen on the word 'project' but it's hard to disagree with anything else he says. And he said "the fans pay a lot of money". He's on board with us already. 😃😃
  25. Oh I will change when I see evidence of it with my own eyes and until that time I will curse the day they came. Do you recall the opening statement from Desai about respecting the legacy of Jack Walker. I wonder what she would say today if she was challenged about it.
