  1. Bloody hell Paul that's some pedestal you put yourself on.
  2. A friend was at the game and Kaminski wanted to come off. He said he was actually walking off and Mowbray shouted at him to get back as we had made all our changes.
  3. At Millwall he said a lack of confidence. For the Wycombe game he said his numbers were high and that he felt JRC would get forward. As I said Nick I have no problem with tactical or off form droppings but Nyambe seems to be hard done to in my view. Mowbray made some recent noises about a new contract for him, I think the negotiations will be interesting.
  4. I don't have a problem with any changes if it's for the betterment of the team but the flimsy excuses used for dropping Nyambe are poor for me. If it's tactical then Mowbray should say so.
  5. I was using the facts that Mowbray was quoted as saying for the reasons behind Nyambe being dropped. It wasn't a conspiracy theory.
  6. I think he is too. Late last season he was left out for lacking confidence (although he miraculously regained it for the next game) and this season because 'his numbers were high' amongst other things. I know Nyambe was poor at Watford but so was Lehihan who has arguably been our worst defender this season. I actually called it on Wednesday that Nyambe would be dropped pretty much in the knowledge that Mowbray doesn't need too much of a reason to leave him out.
  7. Four changes today. JRC, Douglas, Trybull and Williams in for Nyambe, Bell, Evans and Ayala.
  8. I can think of lots of candidates from the Decade of Decay who could be used as the Guy. Or maybe the lot of them.
  9. There is a balance to be had in my view but if weakening the team and lessening the chance of winning because of a situation that was out of Grahams control seemed harsh. And lest we forget Dack was close to being jailed because of misdemeanours off the field, in fact Mowbray spoke for him in court. I can't be certain but I don't recall him being dropped because of it.
  10. As I recall many of his goals came because of his partnership with Graham which is borne out by your figures. My point was that I believe Mowbray has had his favourites in his time here. I spoke to a player at Hilton Park after a defeat at Aston Villa and put that point to him. His wry smile spoke volumes.
  11. I found it really interesting that he said Mowbray and Venus have conflicting views on how we play the game. I don't think I have ever heard of that before. Coyle is the clown 99.9% of us knew he was and his appointment cost the club millions. He speaks fondly of Lambert.
  12. ??? Thanks for posting this Ian. A great occasion for everybody connected to Rivers.
  13. I just caught the back end of a news report that said the Watford squad will be tested for Coronavirus after playing at Derby with Rooney potentially being infected.
  14. This hasn't gone away yet. There is some interesting stuff in the article including an American company who want to buy 20% of the EFL. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54587893
  15. Yes I heard the Gingerbread Man from down the M65 mention that. Just imagine though if Rovers get some financial help and we get promoted.............and that lot get relegated. It would bring a whole new definition to the Suicide Squad ??????.
  16. I haven't read anything about that. Is that historic or future income and expenditure?
  17. I don't think this is going to have a happy ending. I read yesterday that there is a real reluctance from most of the PL clubs to hand over any money to the Championship clubs. Probably the most common reason was that too many Championship clubs are in the predicament they are in because of poor management. Reading were cited as paying something like 175% of their income on wages alone. There are many others too who are living well beyond their means. Another reason was that lots of Championship clubs are owned by extremely wealthy people and it should be incumbent upon them to bail their own clubs out.
  18. Despite my reservations Mowbray has brought in some much needed quality and more importantly in areas were it was needed. In many respects the hard bit is yet to come by getting a tune out of them and turning us into a consistent, cohesive unit.
  19. It's strange that all 20 clubs have accepted that the proposal will not be pursued or endorsed by the PL and FA. I would have expected the two protagonists to at least not accept it and vote accordingly. The real bigger picture though is that the two American owned clubs have made fools of themselves. The clubs from Leagues One and Two have done alright though. It will be interesting to see if the Championship begging bowl is topped up. Personally I don't think it will be.
  20. When the PL was formed it was known as the FA Premier League. The PL (under Parry) soon realised that the FA had served their purpose by supporting their inception and they couldn't bring anything else to the party so they dropped them. This country is the only one I know of where a league is more powerful than the governing body. If the big boys decide to go this would be an ideal opportunity for the FA to take control back and do what they are supposed to do and run the game from top to bottom in a manner befitting our football heritage.
  21. What is interesting though Nick is that the email says these plans have been approved in the close season by the Championship clubs. I haven't seen any mention of this from any club or until now from the EFL. Thanks for digging around with this. Maybe one for our local hacks to take up.
  22. I think the majority of true football fans would agree and say good riddance. Within this conglomerate are clubs that are more powerful than others and the weaker ones will be used and abused. Hopefully they leave and set up their own little league until the bigger ones think the smaller ones are dragging them down. Then a European, global and intergalactic league will be their aim ???.
  23. If I read that right the losses you are allowed (was it £39m per season over three years) will now cover four years ie approximately £10m per season.
  24. So true Andy. In 1969 the big FA Cup match against Man City was called off several times. Before one of the postponements Rovers put a call out for volunteers to help clear the snow off the pitch. Along with a few mates I went down, was given a broom and shovel and pointed to an area of the pitch to start clearing. There were wheelbarrows being filled and emptied at the side of the pitch. The problem was it was solid underneath and unplayable. To recognise the huge effort it was announced that the players were coming down and putting on a training session as a way of thanking us. We were allowed to stand pitch side and almost touch the players. To be so close to your heroes and hear them was something I never forgot. Quid pro quo and lots of happy schoolkids.
