  1. I think it's fair to say that Herbie6590 stands out in a crowd 😂.
  2. New Season, New Fanzone? It looks like they are creating one on the small car park adjacent to the Blackburn End.
  3. It's a strange announcement. Apart from two there is no mention of whether the games are home or away or kick off times. I know they are BCD and supporters won't be able to attend but it just seems vague.
  4. The only change to the original list is that Hull away is now a 12.30 kick off but still on the same day. That only applies until the end of September though. Changes to any games up to FA Cup third round day will be announced before the season starts.
  5. It could well be mate as it was a late decision to screen it. If it is it seems a bit ghoulish to me.
  6. Nobbers are playing Liverpool on Sunday in a friendly. It will be a sell out crowd and amazingly it is being screened live by ITV1, STV, ITVX and STV Player. That will be a few quid in the bank for them.
  7. They have a nice wedge coming in soon as the loan deal for Flemming became permanent when that lot got promoted. It's rumoured £7m.
  8. A BRFCS team - now you've got me thinking.
  9. Chorley are looking for teams to play in friendlies. As yet we there is nothing scheduled for two of these dates. Somebody should tell the Punekars. A local derby and a chance to get an appearance fee. The players could drive there so no money wasted on fancy coaches. Chorley FM could cover the game. What's not to like? 😂
  10. I'm sure Rovers would point to the number of youngsters who have signed extensions as a success but the reality is these kids would have been easy to deal with as, in the main they just want to be professional footballers. Dealing with established players is a whole different ball game and Rovers have been found wanting. I would imagine that is why any negotiations for potential new signings seem to be so protracted. I just don't believe we have smart enough negotiators in situ who can get deals over the line. I really think it will get to the point where the players and their representatives just say 'sod this' and are either sold or let their contracts just run down.
  11. Normally apologies are sent in advance of meetings so if that's the case they should have an idea beforehand but I don't know how these meetings operate in respect of normal protocol. I'm sure I've seen pre meetings mentioned in the past too but maybe that was only for FF members.
  12. Do you get to know in advance who is representing the club?
  13. Another low in the last fifteen years. What a way to treat people. Shame on you Rovers.
  14. I would imagine the Sky lawyers are already rubbing their hands if this happens. The greedy clubs won't be too pleased though. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cy0wpvqwdw9o
  15. As you know the vast majority of PL clubs are globetrotting for big bucks. Four are playing in a Premier League cup competition in America and Man Utd are playing Leeds in Stockholm. If they do play a lower/non league team they send the kids. I was at Chorley on Saturday against Wigan and there were around 2200 on. They play Nobbers tomorrow and expect a similar sized crowd. To a club like Chorley that is a God send.
  16. I would say it appears that they have learned from their mistakes. They have grown the fan base and there is now a waiting list for season tickets, pledged to build a new Sports Quarter, meet the supporters in local pubs and can zones before each game and are investing wisely in the team. Remember the 'we will absolutely respect the legacy of Jack Walker' pledge on their first day of Rovers ownership? That lasted a few weeks.
  17. A parent of a first year scholar told me officially they shouldn't have but they can get boot and clothing deals. This person had already had offers.
  18. One of the new intake at Rovers was recently featured in a national newspaper article bedecked in a brand of sportswear. This was arranged by an agent who was hoping to ingratiate himself to the lad and his parents for the future. But having an agent at 16 is against the FA rules but, as ever these people find a way of circumventing the rules.

  20. I have been told that Waggott had done some preparatory work in getting a game at Ewood on August 2nd and was looking at some established European clubs. Whoever has picked up the slack in his absence has gone to the Punekars and told them what the appearance fee would be and they aren't prepared to pay it. Instead somebody has had a brainwave (probably thinking we could charge an appearance fee) to play abroad on that date and they are frantically searching for a team to play. It was said that the money from the Everton friendly would finance the trip. Let's see what happens but right now there is no game scheduled for August 2nd.
  21. It was strange that he wasn't announced with all the other new scholars several weeks ago. I'm guessing but perhaps he was being hawked around by someone (strictly speaking players aren't allowed to have an agent until the are 18) and it didn't materialise.
  22. He was interviewed by Sodexho for a waiters job as a back up. Two birds, one stone. 😂
  23. Alex Baker had awful luck. After coming back from a cruciate injury sustained in a bad challenge he damaged a hamstring and sadly wasn't offered a new deal. He looked promising whenever I saw him play but unfortunately his injuries did for him.
  24. This is from June 20th. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2025/june/20/ticket-news--accrington-stanley-v-rovers/
