I saw the third part of the documentary about Wrexham last week and their ownership runs much deeper than the football. Their work in the community is another big factor in the story. For example a Wrexham fan was approaching his 100th birthday and one of the two owners (Rob I think) turned up at the guys house to wish him happy birthday. He stayed for a natter and a brew. He was then introduced to the fans before the next game and they have him a 100 second applause. There were other plans they had like redeveloping areas of the town. I vaguely recall our lot promising something similar with regard to the community. Just another empty promise.

For the third season running we go into the last day of the season with something to play for. It's rarely boring being a Rovers supporter.
-
They will have Blackpool instead 😂. Wigan and Bolton too.

I heard on Radio Lancashire on the way home that Nobbers haven't won away from home on a Saturday all season. Be afraid..... 😂

v Watford (h) - 26/4/2025

At half time in the Sheffield Wednesday game I honestly don't think you would have found a Rovers supporter who would have thought we would be going to Sheffield United on May 3rd with any chance of being in the playoffs. But I really believe (I said so at the time) that something radical happened in those fifteen minutes, something that has seen us come back from two down in that game and then to win four on the spin. Against an angry Watford team today we showed again that we can play (as demonstrated by the goals) but we can dig in and scrap. The real quality moments ended with two goals with arguably our two best players scoring them but excellent build up play leading to them scoring. Once again Ismael went to a back five to protect a lead and once again it worked as we defended resolutely after the winning goal. No nonsense Sanderson seems ideal for these situations. Every player played their part today and hopefully this winning habit stays around for a while longer. Even an inept referee who allowed himself to be bullied by Watford can't rain on our parade this evening. -
Luton are really struggling to create anything against the man Coventry much as the struggled against us a fortnight ago. The are putting plenty of crosses in for Morris but Coventry have been untroubled by these.

Coventry have had Latibeaudiere carried off on a stretcher and Dasilva has been sent off.

I saw that and wondered to myself if Bury will sell more season tickets than us. And they will be playing in the NPL West Division. -
A draw between Hull and Derby would put Hull above them and Derby within two points of them. It's going to be an interesting day 😁

There are two huge fixtures today involving teams in the relegation mix. Preston are at home to Plymouth and Hull at home to Derby. Preston are really struggling for any form as two points from the last six games illustrates whereas Plymouth have ten points from their last six. Nobbers saving grace might be that their goal difference is significantly better than the current bottom three. It would be hilarious if they did get relegated though. As it stands there are eight teams who can still go down and for supporters of these today and next Saturday will be squeaky bum time.

Gestede wasn't naive when he refused to play for us at Wigan because he wasn't in the right frame of mind. He got exactly what he wanted. He insulted every one of us with that incident and is continuing to do so as one of the owners lackeys.

So for the majority of their tenure you have been a season ticket holder. Through Kean, Anderson, Singh, Agnew, Shaw, Coyle and many, many more. And now you are taking some kind of moral high ground? I certainly won't take lectures from you about 'burying my head in the sand' and 'the long term future of the club' -

How on earth do you deduce that from me praising the players and manager for winning a game? Haven't you until recently been a season ticket holder? -
Let's celebrate promotion by threatening Sheffield United players.

Thanks.

This is the Sunderland thread in case you hadn't noticed and Ismael deserves credit for his changes as he did against Luton. I didn't mention any other games so you, once again in you haste to be critical have jumped the gun. I am happy to win a game anytime likewise unhappy to lose. Your hyperbole of misery doesn't reflect well on you. -

I'm not clever enough to come up with something like that but does the fact Coventry play Middlesbrough in the last game have a bearing on it?

I too was on that train. It was the first match after getting promoted from Division Three and there was a wave of optimism so the train was full. Oh for the days of 'Specials' again when several hundred like minded supporters travelled together.

Another nice journey home after watching Rovers claim their third successive win with a solid if unspectacular performance. And once again Ismael gets some praise from me as his changes were exactly what was needed to see us over the line. Sunderland looked like they were going for the record number of corners in the first ten minutes As we didn't see too much of the ball but we patiently played our way into the game with some good passing and movement. Scoring first is always important and Dolan with a smart finish out us ahead and gave us something to defend. And once again we defended as if our lives depended on it as we blocked and tackled with great commitment. Toth once again proved he is a better all round keeper that Pears and only conceding one goal in three games should ensure his place for the last two games and further opportunity to establish himself. All the defence and midfield worked exceptionally hard as did Dolan and Ohashi. I really don't believe that, despite it still being mathematically possible that we will make the playoffs but this winning feeling certainly beats the depression of losing and long may it last. -
This needs investigating immediately. https://news.sky.com/story/chelsea-fans-criticise-unethical-ticket-resale-platform-which-club-chairman-invests-in-13352484

Poor choice of words there. If you couldn't give a toss fine but I suspect around a thousand Rovers fans are travelling in the hope of a win and lots more will be watching on TV hoping for the same.
