  1. They have been the owners for fourteen years. What about Singh, Shaw, Agnew, Hunt, Senior and Silk? They were up there in the incompetence stakes with Waggott. Whilst Waggott is useless he is just the latest in a list of useless appointments by exactly who? It's all on them and if you can't see if admit that then posters will draw their own conclusions.
  2. Absolutely Den. My point was about silver tongue Broughton insulting our intelligence with his 'met our valuation' crap. He was always going to go at some point but the owners nefarious business dealings meant we sold him at the first opportunity. And it could be argued that selling our most creative player was a huge nail in the relegation coffin.
  3. We'll never know for sure but I'm convinced we would have beaten Millwall and Plymouth if Eustace hadn't played a back five. Today, the Middlesbrough game and the second half at Swansea was the best we have played under Eustace. The common denominator was a back four.
  4. I have been told that Ian Silvester will be 'retiring' at the end of the season.
  5. That was another aspect of the Broughton interview that annoyed me. He said that Palace met their valuation of Adam. However that didn't mean we had to sell him but they got him on the first train to London the following day. There was no clause about clubs meeting a certain fee, it was Rovers and Rovers alone who decided to sell him. And right now that looks like a decision that will pretty much cancel out the fee given what the cost of relegation will be.
  6. Whilst I was hugely disappointed to lose I actually thought we were good tonight and on another day would have had three points. But the stark reality is that we did lose and that is the most important thing. Our situation is becoming precarious and this drawing and losing sequence will see us relegated. In truth Ipswich got lucky tonight in my view. In the second half of was pretty much one-way stuff although we didn't create as much as we would have liked. I haven't seen the goal back but Pears looked horribly at fault. We were chatting and reckoned poor goalkeeping has cost us at least twelve points this season. Relying on just one man to score isn't too good either. We simply have to start winning games but really were are these going to come from. As good and important as Szmodicsas been this season I wish he would do more to try and stay onside. My real ire tonight is aimed at the referee who gave by far the worst performance I have seen in a Rovers game for some time. He really tried to give the impression that the game was beneath him as he strutted about with an aura of arrogance. . I saw the disallowed goal back pretty much straight away and to penalise Scott Wharton for a foul on the keeper is shockingly bad. What made it worse was that he waited until we put the ball in the net before blowing. The decision lacked conviction and summed him up. Luongo and Morsy got away with persistent infringement as they broke play up and committed general shithousery to stem the flow of the game whenever we were gaining momentum.
  7. The body language of the Leicester players after going behind was shocking. Out of the current top three they might be the ones to miss out on automatic promotion.
  8. If you are driving there is a road closure on the A59 on the way to Blubberhouses with a diversion in place. We got caught going to Middlesbrough a fortnight ago and the diversion added half an hour to the journey time. The roads will be busy enough anyway with it being Easter Monday. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c724evry766o
  9. There is no pay on the day unfortunately. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2024/march/12/ticket-news--sunderland-v-rovers/
  10. I really think that under these owners transfers are done too late in the window. With them apparently having to sign everything off and their penchant for mind changing it's a bad combination. I remember Samba and Nelsen, two of our best ever signings coming in on trial in the first few days of the January window. Under this lot everything is late or delayed.
  11. Playing Carter after a lengthy absence might be considered too much of a risk. I don't know if Moore will start after his midweek exertions but he clearly represents an aerial threat which we will have to cope with. They are in the top three for goals from set pieces so we will have to be wary of that. I'm convinced if we keep a clean sheet we win the game.
  12. It's disappointing that Scott has come out with this. It seems to me that his grievance started with not getting in the team for the Burnley match (which Tomasson screwed up in) and the good form of Hyam and Carter coupled with his individual errors meant he wasn't picked. That's football and to bleat about it now doesn't do him any favours. It will be interesting what Eustace does when Carter is fit.
  13. I thought Broughton said it was a transfer that didn't to through. To be honest I can't be bothered listening again
  14. Broughton actually said another deal nearly happened but didn't. He name checked our CEO as agreeing the deal with a club where he has contacts. PerkS would and that to the catalogue of errors and undermining which caused Tomasson to leave. Broughton must have felt usurped undermined too with that and the Fleck deal.
  15. He talks about the Watford game as a turning point when we were one up, relatively comfortable but doesn't mention why. Our keeper threw two into his goal costing us badly. This is a keeper who has individually cost us more than any other player. Who signed him again?
  16. He did an interview on February 3rd last year accepting full responsibility saying 'the buck stops with me'. He also said he didn't think we would win an appeal but, at great expense we went ahead with it anyway. I believe he gets too easy a ride primarily because of his media friendliness. https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/football-news/blackburn-rovers-transfer-news-broughton-26150989
  17. In the game and a half Eustace has played a back four I think we have played the best under him looking tight and compact. In the other games whilst playing a five we just haven't really laid a glove on the opponents midfield. I personally don't think he will play a back four but will bring McFadzean back.
  18. I haven't heard the Jackson interview. I thought Bayes had a good line of questioning but could have been more forensic on the McGuire debacle. For example why was the deal left so late in the window particularly after the fiasco late in the last January window and what changed for it to be on/off. He also said categorically after the last January window that all processes would be reviewed to prevent another O'Brien and Brierley situation yet another transfer fails and brings shame and embarrassment on our club. He was quick to accept responsibility last year but this time it was 'human error'. Once again there are far more questions than answers.
  19. Having seen Ipswich several times I think their central midfield two of Luongo and Morsy are so important to the way they play and their success so far this season. We simply have to match them up here or risk being outnumbered and overrun. To do that we have to play a back four and keep two banks of four as our main shape. Scoring first will be key in this match I think and I would set up to play on the counter attack with our emphasis on keeping them out and limiting the number of chances they create.
  20. I've always thought of him as a blagger, a man way out of his depth and this interview reinforces that view to me. His cheesy grin doesn't help but I could put up with that if I had any faith in him. The McGuire situation wasn't nearly covered in the level of detail it should have been. Why wasn't he questioned on why the deal changed so much whilst the player himself was in mid-air and why he ended up in a hotel in Sheffield ready to sign for Sheffield Wednesday. His answer about the regression this season question was that of a politician as he insulted our intelligence. And, for legal reasons he couldn't to into the Tomasson situation. He has clearly been told not to. His boast about young players signing professional contracts is misleading to me. With a couple of exceptions they pretty much all haven't been near the first team. Most are happy to sign to become professional footballers and are on poor wages. His boast about 24 years in professional football sums his ego up. Pretty much nobody has heard of him and likely never will.
  21. Should add a few quid to his transfer fee in the Summer 😁.
  22. I wrote to Waggott in August and suggested to him exactly what he has actually done ie charge Leeds full cat A prices but discount the tickets for Rovers fans at Elland Road. Although he didn't completely rule it out I suggested to him that the tone of his replies indicated he wouldn't do it. And I firmly believe if it wasn't live on Sky and we got a few quid for this it wouldn't be happening. I have kept the emails too.
