  1. I really don't know why you come on here then. People have different views, that's the way of the world and nobody should take it to heart. Its no different than sat watching a game and listening to comments around you. Some you agree with and some you don't. As far as transfer speculation goes all there is to go on is snippets in the media and in the fullness of time we'll know how true they are.
  2. With the current bunch I would say out of the bottom three is my expectation. A few decent signings could change that but given the players we have been linked with I honestly don't hold out too much hope. I say this having fallen for Mowbrays 'top six' talk at the end of last season.
  3. I think that's a fair assumption given Mowbrays interview in the LT yesterday and the news of Brentfords interest. Personally I believe that Raya simply isn't good enough so selling him isn't a big deal for me. I still believe though that we need two centre backs who can hit the ground running and provide competition for Lenihan.
  4. Namibia lost 1-0 to South Africa last night and Nyambe played the full game. I only saw the first half but once again he looked comfortable in the middle of a back three.
  5. I have it from an impeccable source that Anderson was big buddies with Shaun Harvey and that lots of the goings on at Bolton were covered up. With that and the botched TV deal I got the impression that Harvey jumped before he was pushed. As I understand it the sale/takeover of Bolton still hasn't gone through.
  6. It's not about judging where we are now or at the end of the window. This debate was started because Mowbray has seemingly done a U-turn on what he saw as an absolute priority in March on the strength of a few dead rubber games. If you aren't alarmed by his comments that's fine but the majority are. Were you not concerned by our defensive record and felt we need different types of players to what we have?
  7. I think the lack of ability to pass the ball quickly is, with a couple of exceptions lacking throughout the squad. You have correctly identified several defenders who can't and In central midfield none of Travis, Smallwood or Evans can do this. Other players such as Bennett also fall into this category. We are far too ponderous when we have the ball and easy to play against.
  8. I think it was at the Supporters Consultation that he really sounded off about how poor we were defensively and he actually garnered some support as at last he seemed to have woken up to the fact that defending is our Achilles Heel and some faith in him was restored. That interview has done him absolutely no favours in my opinion.
  9. I think Mowbray is dumbing down expectations before a ball has been kicked and my take is that he simply didn't get what he was expecting in terms of his budget. My view is that the Indians have tightened the purse strings and Mowbray is working with that. His interview in India where he talked about 'having to sell a Bradley Dack' and 'polishing up' cheap young players was telling to me.
  10. But only a few months ago he did.
  11. So, so strange. He says that the decent defensive form in the last few games forced him to change his mind. The centre back pairing was Williams and Lenehan during that period and Mowbrays comments lead me to believe they will start. Similarly Leutweiler was in ahead of Raya, will he be number one now? Since Mowbray came we have needed some big, dominant centre half and it was almost as if he suddenly realised this towards the end of last season when he said as much. To vast majority welcomed his comments but now he is back tracking on the strength of a few dead rubbers. It's another disappointing interview from a manager who more and more are beginning to doubt.
  12. I was told by one of the ticket office personnel yesterday that 1000 is the initial allocation and subject to demand more would be available.
  13. Mowbray speaks with forked tongue. He should be reminded of previous articles by his media team before each interview he does.
  14. The lesser spotted Gladwin was not mentioned. I know he is injured but not even a word about him.
  15. I can second that. They are a local business who won't judge people because of some minor misdemenour in the past.
  16. I was really happy when we got Payne in last time after he was terrific in our league game at Oxford. Come the end of the season I was disappointed with his contribution but I don't think he played coming in from the left where he was so effective. It'll be a low risk signing for me but if he is to force his way into the team he has to be used correctly.
  17. Is that not the definition of a squad player? By the way the 'oh my God' line does you no favours. I don't mind disagreement and debate but in all honesty that comes across as condescending.
  18. I'm baffled by (arguably) Mowbray chasing a player for so long to be a squad player. Wharton, Magliore, Platt or Grayson could have made the numbers up as squad players. Any player worth his salt know he has to work hard, it's what good professionals do. I don't think Bauer would be any different and if you know football like you purport to then you will know that no manager would guarantee a starting place. Sharpe saying this was a complete red herring in my book. I have my own suspicions about what Mowbray thought he was going to get to spend and what he has in reality. In my opinion this is causing havoc with his A list of which I think Bauer was one.
  19. The fact we chased and spoke to a player for a considerable amount of time to be a squad player is what I don't get. If that was Mowbrays intention from day one that's fine but surely he would have moved to bring in another 'squad' player once Bauer became unattainable in either August '18 or January '19. My belief is that Mowbray was confident of bringing him in so he didn't bring in a centre half in January when the consensus was we were desperate.
  20. He will have been constantly monitored and watched by Mowbrays scouts. If Mowbray knew how much he wanted he must have spoken to Bauers representatives. And even after finding that out he spoke to the player recently. That all takes time and effort. Something about this just doesn't sit right with me.
  21. Chasing a player for that length of time to be a squad player is a waste of time and resource. Do you think he would have been on Mowbrays a, b or c list? Given the endeavours I would suggest the first and if that only equates to a squad player then heaven help us. If Mowbray hadn't said anything about being a squad player and he signed would you have been suited?
  22. Why would you vigorously chase player for a long time for him to be a squad player? That is the point you seem to be missing. To me it indicates that Mowbrays random transfer policy.
  23. Your first sentence is absolutely correct but telling a player he will have to play his way into the team is nonsense from Mowbray. Everybody should start the same and it's how they shape up in pre season and friendlies which should determine who starts the season. It's just more garbage from Mowbray who is rapidly dousing any hopes I had after his big talk at the end of the season. And didn't Mowbray say to people at the end of the Supporters Consultation Meeting that Bauer wanted between £40 & £50k a week? Then he speaks to him in the summer about signing for us. It looks like Mowbrays halo is slipping.
  24. He played well in his debut against Wigan and handled the thug Garner really well. At Wednesday he was part of a rancid team performance when individual mistakes (not by him) cost us at least three goals.
