  1. That's not the worst idea but the downside is that Mowbray would want to integrate them to his methods and workings and from previous history that could take a while.
  2. It's just another example of how badly run we are when we can hand out new contracts to the likes of Platt and Wharton who will never get near the first team whilst ignoring our major weakness. Mowbray has really gambled all his chips on no defenders getting injured and eleven games in it has bitten him on the arse. It's really poor management and a real gamble with the future of our club.
  3. It's like Groundhog Day again after Mowbray refused to bring in defenders last January and we almost immediately lost Lenihan and Mulgrew to injury. Although there is no word on Lenihans injury I noticed he is already on four yellow cards and one more will bring an automatic suspension. It also appears that Tosin is made of marzipan having spent most of his time here injured. Mowbray has once again dropped an almighty bollock.
  4. Lots of teams being picked for the Nobbers game but we have two important games before then.
  5. His tactics often reflect the level of bullshit he spouts in that interview. As you quite rightly say he over thinks things which often leads to over complicating things. I also find some of his interviews patronising almost as if he is talking to absolute novices.
  6. We noticed that too and really struggled to understand the logic behind it. It's another example of Mowbray trying to be clever. It was around that time that Bennett passed a note to Evans.
  7. I saw quite a few fans applauding at the end of yesterday's game. That infuriated me.
  8. Last season QPR were a poor side who generally played it long. Warburton has pretty changed their style of play with essentially the same players. There's another Championship manager who promised to do this but his name escapes me......................
  9. Eleven games in and I think it's time to evaluate where we are with Mowbrays proposed change in the style of play. Having seen every game I see players who appear confused by how they should be playing. We started the season by trying to play out from the back but that seems to have been dispensed with as we looked to go longer to Gallagher out on the right touchline. The majority of passes we do play are safe, short and invariably sideways or backwards. We are so easy to play against with our slow, sedate and safe football. For me we have gone backwards with Mowbray confusing fans and players alike with strange tactics and players being out of position.
  10. I have just seen the goals in SSN and they frankly are all embarrassingly poor, much worse than I saw live at the ground. There wasn't one player to come out yesterday with any credit. I noticed yesterday that Mowbray adopted his all too familiar head in hands pose several times as he became frustrated by elementary errors. In the second half he sat down for long periods and Venus seemed to take over the head coach duties.
  11. I honestly can't see Mowbray leaving either of his own volition or being sacked. Who is going to sack him? The guy that Mowbray vouched for? The lunatics on another continent? What about the invisible man Pasha? I think he is as safe as Kean was when he was effectively writing his own contracts. It's been well known that Mowbray likes to pick the low hanging fruit. He likes to bring players in who he knows and also coaches he knows too. His safe football is based around not losing or narrow wins. The post about us only coming from behind once to win a Championship game under him is damning and should be enough for him to tender his resignation. To reiterate what many have said he has taken us as far as he can and soon as will begin to regress.
  12. Just on the train back. Disappointed doesn't do it justice. Mowbray is all over the place now. It was summed up when I saw Bennett given a note by somebody on the bench. He passed it to Evans and he gave it to Lenihan. It was actually Evan's best pass of the game. It was like nobody on the bench wanted to speak to the players.
  13. I agree with you. At Reading I thought he had arguably his best game for us get on Tuesday he was anonymous and was rightly taken off. This inconsistency could well hold him back. That said his ability is beyond question and his record of 40 goals in 100 games is excellent. Off the top of my head I can't recall many chances he has missed in his time here.
  14. I'm not sure of your definition of being screwed over applies here. If that was the case then you could argue Venkys screwed Bowyer over because they have given Mowbray a lot more to spend.
  15. How did Gibson screw him over? I'm intrigued because he has a reputation as being one of the most supportive owners in football.
  16. I actually think it's a proper atmospheric ground surrounded by houses on three sides with an almost retro feel to it. The view from the away upper tier is on of the best in the league. When I compare it to some of these soulless edifices it is one of the most enjoyable grounds to visit.
  17. Football is about results at any time of the season. Winning breeds confidence.
  18. These stats are misleading in my view. How many of these accurate passes were behind or ahead of players or just not the right weight? I remember one pass from Bennett to Armstrong in the first half when he drilled it at him about chest high. It bounced off Armstrong's chest and an opportunity to spring forward was lost. It would be considered accurate because it got to its target but it lost us any chance of an initiative. I think managers hide behind stats and use them as excuses to mask inadequacies.
  19. I thought Travis made his mind up for him by standing off.
  20. I'd love to see a stat about how many times we gave the ball away last night. I kept thinking about the intense passing game that Mowbray spoke about in the summer. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I thought we were poor last night. The only glimmer of hope was when we played with a bit of pace primarily from Holtby, Rothwell and Samuel. The three players they replaced were by far our worst on the night. Hopefully Mowbray will have taken note of this and it influences his selection on Saturday.
  21. I felt that our passing tonight was as poor as it's been for a long time. We constantly under hit or misplaced passes which was infuriating. The tempo was ridiculously slow until Holtby and Rothwell came on and in that period we could have scored a couple. For all his effort I thought Travis was poor in possession overall and seemed to want an eternity. He gave far too much room to the Forest player who equalised. I'd like to see Dacks stats for tonight. Most of the time I looked for him he was static. Gallagher was really poor and looks anything but a big money player. I don't understand why Mowbray left it so late to make the changes. It was crying out for something different but in his cautious manner seemed reluctant to try something different. It's been a hugely disappointing few days with one point from two home games where the performances were generally mediocre.
  22. I'll vouch for that Andy. He was anything but quiet and could tear a strip of his teammates or the match officials.
  23. My real fear going into this game is how we will react to the result from Saturday. If the players are feeling sorry for themselves then it could be a long night. It's games like this when a good manager shows his real value.
  24. I am as sure as I can be that it was done as per the procedure. Clearly I'm not privy to the dialogue but from what I saw everything was above board and more importantly the correct decision was reached.
  25. I'm certain the conversation between the two was about whether Dack actually touched the ball. From the AR's position he couldn't tell and put the onus back to the referee. Again I'm certain there was no other dialogue between the other officials. Again I making an assumption but I wasn't convinced if the referee knew if Dack had actually touched it given the length of the conversation. The AR followed the prescribed process by standing his ground and not flagging. The correct decision was reached and by and large it was done by the book. In fact that incident aS better teamwork than anthem saw from Rovers.
