That *was* the January Window

Far too many players have been in poor form recently so it's difficult to single any individual out. I saw enough of Moran before we tanked to see his qualities. -
A few days before an important Championship match and no match thread so I thought I'd start one. The Hawthorns has been a decent ground for us in recent years with a mixed bag of results. We will be looking for our first double of the season having beaten them at Ewood of in the first game of the season. With three wins, two draws and a defeat in their last six games it will be a real test although goalscoring has been a problem for them. They will be missing arguably their most creative player in Diangana who is away with DR Congo in the ACN. Maja and Phillips are also out but Dike made a goalscoring return from injury recently and will be a real threat. Hopefully at least one of our injured players can return to strengthen us.

We got that money last season along with a few hundred thousand for numerous TV appearances. We didn't see any of it. According to Swag at a Fans Forum it went back to the owners to help service the debt.

Look at the map and where someone in Wrexham thinks Blackburn is.

It was in the Lancashire FA under 18 Cup. Any win against that lot has to be savoured so today is no different. The game didn't scale any great heights at a freezing cold Brockhall but beating them gave me a warm glow

I thought I'd read he was from Cork hence the 'new Roy Keane' tag.

It will be billed as Bollywood v Hollywood. Man boob onion Bhaji will be desperate to ingratiate himself on a couple of A listers so maybe he will put in an appearance. After all he turned up for the Queen.

Personally I think it's the best draw we could have had. At home, good chance of going through and a decent crowd. S4C should cover it and there will be lots of media interest given who owns them. Keep the prices sensible Swag and reap the benefits.

Waggott approved contract extensions for the likes of Smallwood, Mulgrew, Bennett and Evans with at least two of them on big money. And by the way the Mulgrew one paid dividends as he went out on loan a short time after and had a foul of games in between loans didn't play again for us. The two extremes of doling out contracts to mediocrity and not tying down assets sums up Venkys and also Waggots tenure here. -
I agree entirely. Surely there will be CCTV covering the back of the Riverside where it appeared to come from. There should be a proper investigation done involving the police and as you say it was just luck that nobody was injured.

Our most recent policy has been to increase the value of players and let them leave for nothing. Ludicrous decision making which has come back to haunt us. -
Precisely why I doubted it 😉.

A big part of the FFP issues have Waggotts prints on them. How many players have walked away after letting their contracts run down? How many average players were given three and four year deals under Mowbray? How much was spent under Mowbray on under achieving players? Waggott was the de facto Director of Football for several years and financially the club was a disaster and in many ways paved the way for the ridiculous situation of loaning players out to bring new ones in. And lets not forget it was him (aided and abetted by some of his cohorts) who tried to sell Brockhall, one of the jewels in the crown from Jack Walkers time here. I have said many times that Waggott is under qualified to run a professional organisation but is happy to take a huge salary.

I don't for one minute think the club will release the numbers of tickets sold digitally before 9 am yesterday and paper tickets sold after this time. I'll wager a months earnings though that it was a ratio of at least 3:1 in favour of the latter. Hopefully they have learned a lesson but somehow, based on previous wacky schemes I doubt it.

In our five cup matches this season there have been 31 goals. Now that represents value for money. -

That was scarier than Leo going for a cross 😂. It certainly made us jump and there was confusion for a minute or two. Was it thrown from outside? -

It wasn't his hamstring. He got a knee to his glutes and was running normally after a few minutes. -

It sounds like some are disappointed we have won but despite winning the knife is being plunged deeper into Tomasson which I find staggering. I enjoyed the game today. Seven goals, some good play and in the draw for the fourth round. It wasn't perfect, defensively we made mistakes early on but once we got our noses in front we grew in confidence and absolutely bossed the match and could have scored more. I was pleased when I saw the team and we put out one of the strongest sides we could have done and it paid dividends. We are in the hat for Monday's draw and I would absolutely have settled for that at 3 pm. To score five was the icing on the cake. -
The six second rule is still in Law but, like a lot of others has not been enforced allowing keepers to abuse it. I can't remember the last time I saw it enforced.

All roads lead to Pune for pretty much everything that has decimated our club. The Travis situation is the latest one which is causing real consternation amongst the supporters. The playing budget has been cut to the bone which means we can't afford to be paying somebody who is not actually playing so Travis is the collateral damage as in an ideal world Tomasson would keep him and effectively tell him to fight for his place. It's a ludicrous situation that something so ridiculous has to be factored in. And the 'excuse' we hear is because they can't send money over as they are being investigated by the Indian authorities for some alleged corruption, one of many corruptions we have suspected since they got their grubby paws on our club. I wish they would just cut us loose from this never ending nightmare and let us start again.

The overriding factor in all this for me was that Travis wanted to move. He knew he couldn't displace Tronstadt and wants to play. I understand that and don't blame him at all but equally I don't blame Tomasson. It suits both parties. Good luck to him, I hope he gets a medal if Ipswich get promoted but first he has to get in the team ahead of Morsy of Luongo. -

How many would he have started if we had Tronstadt then? It's simple. Travis wants to play in a position in which we have a far better player. He wants first team football so has asked for a move - twice. If I was a manager at any football club I wouldn't want an unhappy player particularly one who is the captain and a strong character in the changing room. I'm pretty certain that if those circumstances prevailed at any football club then the result would be the same. My issue is not selling him and being able to use the money to replace him. And the answer to this conundrum lies several thousand miles away. They are, once again the real villains of the piece. -

I don't believe he is wrong and I give him credit for almost going rogue and telling the truth. We all know how he was mislead and let down. I personally don't think the club could have done anything else with Travis apart from selling him. He wanted out and these are facts we should be told.
