  1. Dack was playing a completely different role when he came on to what we have seen in the last few years. He spent most of his time yesterday working in our half closing them down and getting challenges in. In all honesty I was surprised when he came on as Garrett would have been more suitable for what Dack was doing. If he did start I don't think he would be asked to play so deep so judging him on yesterday isn't fair in my opinion.
  2. If it is Walsall then Tomasson should be made aware that the pitch there is considerably smaller than Coventry (Walsall is 100 x 66, Coventry is 105 x 68) in case it might influence team selection or tactics. Yesterday we got in behind Hull several times but on a pitch which is 5 metres shorter the opportunities to do that might dwindle.
  3. Although the scoreline doesn't really reflect it I was never unduly worried (unlike previous matches when we are defending deep) and today was as comfortable a 1-0 win as you can get. Another very good team effort with lots of 7's but not many 8's of 9's. Since day one Tomasson has referenced the team and the importance of it as opposed to individuals. We are seeing a lot of evidence now of how his ethos is being integrated into the players and club and whilst performances aren't great the work ethic and togetherness are and in this league these traits can take you a long way.
  4. The sending off would have been a consequence of giving the penalty.
  5. It doesn't matter whether we were good enough or not. We were done by three big decisions when we should have had a penalty, they go down to ten and the clearest foul on Kaminski which resulted in a goal. If they are given correctly then the game takes on a different complexion.
  6. We owe this lot big time. After the Boxing Day farce (engineered by them in my view) when thousands of us were hugely inconvenienced and the subsequent rearranged match I really want to put one over on them by hammering them. On the night of the rearranged game they had a new owner parading around the pitch which undoubtedly gave them a huge boost and a referee who got three key, match changing decisions wrong.
  7. I know a few who are due to travel down by train on Tuesday, stay overnight and come back on Wednesday.
  8. It's incredible really that four days before a scheduled match in one of the biggest leagues in Europe there is uncertainty as to where it will be played. In the recent past Coventry have played home games at Northampton, Birmingham and Burton so who knows where this match might end up if the Coventry Arena isn't available. If the game is to be played elsewhere what about fans who have booked transport, arranged time off work etc. It really is our and frankly unacceptable.
  9. The bit in bold goes a long way in the Championship.
  10. On the back of last Saturday in what thought was an impressive performance at Ewood last week Birmingham are currently beating QPR 2-0. Their high press and intensity is working really well and suited to play against these teams who like to play out from the back.
  11. Is that Move On Up from Curtis Mayfield or Moving On Up by M People? 😁😁
  12. And yet he was pilloried by some for walking away. The errant ones reneged on a promise and a principled manager knew he couldn't work for them as he pretty much couldn't trust them.
  13. It looks like Coventry could be in turmoil again and there is a suggestion our game there on Tuesday next week might be moved. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/63427703
  14. A really good interview from Howard who has lots of praise for Rovers and especially the fans.
  15. I couldn't find an appropriate thread for this article so I put it on here and hopy Rovers fans can read what I think is a feel good story. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lancashire-63401327
  16. One thing Hanley can always be relied upon for is recklessness. Burnley undoubtedly have some skilful, tricky players particularly out wide but in truth how many good chances did they create? At one point they'd had nine shots and only one of them on target. I honestly can't recall any real opportunities in the penalty area. In fact you could argue that Norwich had the better of clear chances.
  17. He was but I thought he was a touch naive and hopefully he will learn from situations like this. Jutkiewicz got up slightly before Phillips and pinned him down. Hopefully this has been picked up by the coaching team and being worked on.
  18. I'm actually pleased he got the job because now I won't have to listen to him droning on in radio commentary on 5 Live. 😂😂 That said they'll just wheel out another ex pro who is condescending to listeners.
  19. Have a look at the BRFCS Nostalgia thread on here. There is some great footage and photographs of the old Ewood Park.
  20. I really believe it's a natural trait as he swivels his hips and drops his shoulder. His ungainly running style probably helps him in this respect as I think opponents just don't know which way he is going. So reminiscent of Damien Duff in my view.
  21. Some different angles of Adam's goal on Saturday. I didn't appreciate how good the drop of the shoulder and little shimmy were at the time.
  22. Wolves fans vent their fury on Scott Sellars. I have to be honest and say I didn't realise he was at Wolves let alone in a powerful position. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/newsbirmingham/scott-sellars-felt-fury-of-molineux-as-wolves-collapse-against-leicester-city/ar-AA13hG7y
  23. I can't answer your question as to why he wasn't sent off. Being truthful I can't remember it but that has no bearing on the correct decision to send Robinson off today for violent conduct.
