  1. Some will, some won't. The wider point being made is that in the current climate Rovers cannot afford to lose any supporters but Swag seems intent on doing just that.
  2. How do you know that supporters who are Riversiders haven't gone because their stand is shut? Just because there are no posts on here about it doesn't mean that it hasn't happened. Your second and third have no relevance to the discussion.
  3. It's Sw4gg0tt@rovers.co.uk
  4. Lots of people are creatures of habit and want to sit in the same seat they have had for years. Personally speaking that wouldn't bother me but I fully understand and appreciate the supporters that do. And more importantly Swag should understand and respect that too. And once it's happened it will happen time and again for Carabao and FA Cup earlier round games. Swag doesn't understand people, particularly local people and their habits.
  5. I hope the funeral goes as well as it can do.
  6. Did you see yesterday's game to pass off your 'aren't competitive' comment? Several yellow cards, crunching tackles, good intensity and commitment. This is where players learn more about the game than anything else and looking at the Rovers players disappointment yesterday I can tell you that losing hurt them.
  7. Winning games breeds a winning mentality. With your stance we might as well not have an under 21 team. They will develop more playing competitive games rather than your proposal of friendlies and training sessions.
  8. I have always felt being respectful is a far better way to make your point. The fact he shows little regard for us is irrelevant in my book. I personally don't want to stoop that low.
  9. I don't think any emails should be edited, hopefully they are heartfelt and truthful without being abusive. If anybody wants to copy their email on here then they should do so. I just think it's pointless saying" I'm not going to go because he has shut the Blackburn End" on here. It carries no weight. At the very least he should be written to and give him some indication of the depth of dismay. It takes a minute or two. He will undoubtedly use a low crowd as justification for his crass decision so if there is evidence of supporters not going because of his decision the relevant supporters groups can use this.
  10. It had three points on it and I wanted us to win.
  11. It's a week on Tuesday not tomorrow.
  12. I don't know for certain but an educated guess would be that it's configured like that to deter anybody contacting him directly. If you see all other employees email addresses they are configured as jbloggs@rovers.co.uk so to contact somebody direct just change the name. I think Swag doesn't like us plebs being in contact directly with him hence the stupid email address.
  13. Can I respectfully suggest that anybody who isn't going due to Waggott's stupid decision at the very least let him know. He will use a low crowd as justification for his decision and, as usual disregard important truths. It will only take a few moments to email him on Sw4gg0tt@rovers.co.uk If you are contacting him please be respectful.
  14. He was neat and tidy in the first half but faded (as did most of the team) in the second half as he became tired. He looked confident and didn't seem to be overawed by playing against older players.
  15. Having seen Rovers teams score five goals over the weekend and not getting anything is really disappointing. We were cruising and two up at half time but came out for the second half full of mistakes, poor decision making and lackadaisical. Villa scored early and then two in quick succession killed us. Our keeper, Michalski was our best player as he made several too drawer saves. In fairness we really pushed on in the last the minutes and the Villa keeper made a couple of really good saves. The only player likely to be considered for Wednesday, Gilsenan had a good first half but faded badly in the second half which typified the team performance.
  16. I've just about brought myself to watch the goals from yesterday and what the f*** is Pears doing punching that cross when it's eminently catchable. I would even be annoyed if he got a decent fist on it but it's like his wrists are made of marzipan.
  17. Totally agree about Hyam and Carter. I believe Carter is our best centre half and when he steps forward and travels with the ball it gives us something different. In each of the last few games he has done this and got us into decent attacking positions. He should be encouraged to do this more particularly when other teams are sat deeper. Hyam is too safe on the ball too often. When we were 4-3 down yesterday he had several opportunities to switch play with a long diagonal out wide but he took the safe option to Pickering or Carter. So frustrating.
  18. Interestingly I was listening to several conversations amongst Ipswich fans on the train back to London and they pretty much all said he looked like a proper player. He did play well and looked a real threat as he went forward but was also diligent defensively too. If he can add some consistency to his game there is a player in there.
  19. Well where do you start with that defensive performance in the first half. Ipswich cut through us by passing through us, balls down the channels and balls over the top. Our kamikaze defending was incredible and I said after about half an hour I'll be glad to get in at half time 3-1 down because I feared for us. The way we were defending it could have been six. We could have made five changes at half time such was our ineptitude. Hyam, Carter, Travis, Wharton and Szmodics were miles off the pace and they, for me were the worst outfield players but others weren't far behind them. Hyam in particular was poor today as he has been for a few games now. He has been good for us overall but his form recently has fallen off a cliff. I haven't been one to call for Pears to be dropped but today was the culmination of his concession of soft goals recently. The fourth goal today was calamitous - just catch the ball rather than a limp wristed attempt to punch the thing. And this was after we showed some bollocks to get the score to 3-3 and at that point looking good to win it. I have just listened to Tomasson's interview and it's difficult to disagree with him. Scoring three goals in any league game should be enough to win the game but not Rovers. Tomasson has some big decisions to make before next Sunday. The normal first team regulars are the ones who might be at risk of the chop. It would be a hold statement from Tomasson but after conceding eleven goals, the majority of them 'soft', in four game something has to give.
  20. There is an under 21 match on Sunday. Normally I would have expected any unused substitutes from tomorrow to play but as they are likely to be involved on Wednesday then maybe he won't risk them. Personally I would play the likes of Tronstad, Wharton, Hill and Sigurdsson in both (or at the very least part of them) as they really need game time.
  21. If he is expecting 2000 (I think he is lying to justify his decision) then what is the point of opening the ground? By the time Cardiff have their cut, match day staff, match officials and the police have been paid we will probably be in the red for this game. He has caused this issue as he knows some Blackburn Enders want their seat in that stand and don't want to sit elsewhere. There could be some longer term impact here as some might just say enough is enough. And that would probably suit him down to the ground. He is a blight on our club.
  22. I thought Tomasson was tactically poor last night. I was amazed how high the Sunderland defence were, quite often on the half way line when our defence had the ball. I think a smart tactic would have been the occasional ball over the top to get them turning and try and get in behind.
  23. I think you are correct. It's fine margins sometimes. We'll never know for sure but had we scored first at Plymouth and last night I honestly think we would be six points better off now. The problem is clear for all to see and quite how you overcome it I don't really know. I was thinking earlier that, for all his weaknesses a younger Jordan Rhodes would have a field day, the natural goalscorer we are clearly lacking.

  25. I'm going against what seems to be a popular convention on this thread and say we are going to win. I saw Ipswich crab a win at Sunderland and last nights match at Ewood was similar to this game. Sunderland were better all over the pitch but couldn't score despite the plethora of chances they created. Ipswich have started really well and are exceeding their supporters expectations right now but they will hit the buffers soon. Hopefully it's on Saturday. And I really want one of our players to smash Morsey who has had the Indian sign over us during his time with Wigan.
