  1. Have you ever read such a disheartening load of bullshit in your life? The manager must be beside himself. "Try" "aim" "hope" it's always jam tomorrow (which never materialises) with this chancer, never "We will" or "We can" do anything. Instead of all that flowery prose signifying absolutely nothing he might as well have just given us the line he spins to the Fans Forum - "We're looking into it". Looks also like it's going to pan out as I predicted yesterday. Couple of cheap short term signings to cover the recent injuries and the original priority positions which will cost more money to fill will be conveniently brushed under the carpet and forgotten about.
  2. Not shooting the messenger but 22 days of the window gone and we're only just "stepping up our interest" in a player with 3 League games out of 4 already lost this month. We are so unprofessional.
  3. Tend to agree. That one isn't setting my pulses racing.
  4. I doubt he has any information of his own, he's basically only rehashing what Paul Mani said on here a couple of weeks ago.
  5. I took it as a somewhat tongue in cheek comment in light of the new injury situation rather than hard info tbf.
  6. I wouldn't call them thick but they certainly seem to think enough of the fan base are to get away with it. Obvious examples that spring off the top of the head recently are Waggot trying to con everyone about the sale of the training ground, the incorrect narrative that sprung up from somewhere that the V's had to pay "double" if sending money over and Rudy trying to crack on that the reason we couldn't spend money was we only received incoming fees in installments.
  7. I actually thought of you when posting and wondered whether you should be cited as someone who shouldn't be allowed to write it. On this particular occasion and of course no offence intended. Lol.
  8. That would tend to suggest new bodies are needed even more urgently than before the injuries occurred . And they were critical to our chances even before that. What do we reckon - more cheap short term deals or loans to plug the gaps caused by injury at RB and midfield whilst the original "priority" positions of pacy winger and striker ( which would entail shelling out decent money) are conveniently forgotten about and remain unaddressed? Followed by much crowing about having made 4-5 "new signings" on Feb 3rd?
  9. That's rubbish. Even if we perform like Southampton, we'll take the £100m + thanks. Would put the Club in a much better position.
  10. Yep, never known it so quiet on the rumour mill. The lack of actual links, from anywhere be they credible or downright bs, would tend to suggest we're not that active. Most tellingly, having seemingly been told there was some money to spend originally, the manager seems less and less confident about it, and more and more deflated about the situation with every interview which suggests even he no longer believes there'll be any worthwhile incoming activity.
  11. I think you two are splitting hairs somewhat. You can be a fan of "Rovers" (The Club that has existed since 1875) and want the best for it whilst simultaneously not being a fan of "Rovers" (The Club, ownership and management as it has operated for the last few years) Imo.
  12. Good idea. Would need to be strictly factual with no name calling or insults for maximum impact. Herbie would probably be the best one to write it.
  13. The punch was OK. When the ball comes back in he has a decision to make, come for it or stay on your line. If he stays on the line he has an easy save. If he comes for it he HAS to get there first. It's no use starting to come out, only getting half way then dong "the starfish". That might work in a one on one when an attacker is bearing down on goal but not in that situation.
  14. Apart from the bit where you allege Broughton had nous I entirely agree. Great post. (After the permanent deal for Mcguire was pulled he did negotiate a cracking loan deal with an option to purchase for about £7m though)
  15. Entirely your prerogative. Five points from seven games since Travis has been out and Tronstad played in six of them.
  16. One of our better players imo. He'll be off though as we won't offer him a reasonable deal to stay.
  17. He cost us the game. Horrendous error for the first goal. Had barely anything to do first half but when he was finally called into action, sadly on the night he let us down. Can't be easy sitting on the bench all season then being thrust in suddenly but you'd hope he'd be able to come in and at worst be unspectacular and do nothing wrong.
  18. So despite assurances it looks fairly certain there'll be no backing for the manager this window and that yet another golden opportunity has gone begging. Furthermore the current approach of selling off any talent and not reinvesting any of the proceeds in the playing side is obviously not sustainable for much longer and frankly I feel we are one poor managerial appointment away from oblivion. Is it not time for the Trust to ballot its members on re-evaluating its stance towards the Club?
  19. What was the catchphrase under Mowbray? "If we win the next 3 we'll only be a point or two outside of the play offs!".
  20. He's sounding more like a defeated man at the moment. As I mentioned earlier on another thread you've been able to hear the enthusiasm that anyone decent is coming in draining out of him more or less by the interview recently. He's probably thinking about now he's done more or less all he can here. What's the point?
