  1. His quote in the LT at the time was that he had to "calm the owners down". I havent had time to watch this latest podcast yet but at the time he gave the impression he actively discouraged them from investing further.
  2. Just a bit, last Friday it was all doom and gloom. Rudy and Suhail were the devils' incarnate. One really good win and one promising looking signing on the right wing later and all of a sudden Travis was always crap and this new strategy might actually be the way to go etc. etc. And the plastic snake manufacturers will no doubt have a beano in November. I mean, we dont even know if Travis's replacement, Baradji, is fit , or out for a lengthy period and if the latter, how long for. The fickleness of the football fan. It works both ways.
  3. Yes - with the benefit of hindsight immediately after the promotion but even without hindsight definitely after the first season back in the Championship. Several completely wasted years followed.
  4. How long before Amorim comes under pressure? Talks a great game, been allowed to sign some good players but............
  5. Touche' ! Fair enough. If things were going well/ everyone was happy with the ownership, you probably wouldn't hear a dicky bird (relatively speaking) from anyone between games. Oh to be in that position.
  6. 6-0. He is the gift that keeps on giving isn't he?
  7. You probably won't like this post as it's me but if you're meandering towards the point where you're just happy to savour the match day experience regardless of what happens on the pitch - is there much point in it any longer? Surely it's all about winning and losing and trying to achieve success no matter what day of the week it is. Not having a go at you, I know there are a lot of supporters who seem to have that mindset. it's just a rhetorical/philosophical question.
  8. Clearly he didn't as he didn't press the owners for investment when promotion was a possibility. There's no other way you can sugar coat that. Any other manager would want the best squad or X1 humanly possible at his disposal. It was his job to win football matches not manage the finances and finish 15th every other season.
  9. Not quite, they think they are replaceable cheaper. I agree with many of your other points, there is a argument to be had that these players have had their chance and not taken it I agree. I think its a loser's mentality which has pervaded the Club for many years rather than the individual players. Big Sam - target certain games and forget others. Just do enough Bowyer - Arm round the shoulder - development is the main thing not the results Lambert - Im only here to get my career back on track You can sell Rhodes if you like I couldn't care less. Coyle - Let's have a game of ping pong Mowbray - promotion? No thanks - Im only here to top up my pension fund and look after the players who are already here. For me there's only JDT and Eustace who have ever shown any ambition. VI - we'll have to wait and see but the fact he's willing to go along with RG's scheme doesn't fill me with any confidence.
  10. Judging by the insanely high turnover of non playing staff, the Club would seem to be a fairly toxic environment to work in. I think Id rather take her word for it as someone who's worked there rather than any of us on here who haven't. Think it was Glen who said employees aren't valued at the Club and there's little opportunity for pay rises or advancement. Similarly with Head Coaches and playing staff, Suhail doesn't seem to value in the least anyone who has done particularly well for us. The attitude isn't "We need to keep hold of this fella at all costs" it seems to be "We'll just get someone else in and we'll probably be able to get them to do it cheaper".
  11. Nothing he hasnt freely admitted himself in the past. Man of principle? Do me a favour - Which manager doesn't try his utmost for the Club he's working for? (Apart from him) Too many people fooled by the old "Jumpers for goalposts, lemon drizzle cake" routine.
  12. Bloody hell ......but it's ok for the manager to come out in Public and say "Trav let us down" but not specify a reason? Talk about double standards!
  13. If he's that annoyed about it - why doesn't he say why he thinks Travis has let him down and say ""Lewis has let us down because he did X,Y,Z" etc etc then everyone can make their own mind up. Bit of a coward's trick to chuck a hand grenade in and leave it at that.
  14. I think anyone who uses the word "aligned" from now on should be fined Β£10. Money to go to charity!
  15. Agree...... but I thought this particular article was fair and balanced. Don't think the author is "falling for" any of it.
  16. Why then would he still be listed as an employee whereas Waggott is not? This does need clarifying. One poster on here suggested he'd had personal issues to deal with.
  17. My thoughts exactly. Wrong way round. Travis always put it in for us on the pitch. Buckley didn't.
  18. Any fee mentioned? Best of luck to him. Great servant.
  19. The never ending journey ........whilst managers/head coaches, agents and Senior Executives pocket a small fortune.
  20. It is lunacy on the face of it BUT we are where we are and if it were to take a couple of seasons to succeed and come to fruition then that wouldn't be unreasonable nor would it be for this year to be one of consolidation and improvement. (I dont think that will happen for the avoidance of any doubt, I think the whole thing is completely bonkers and entirely cost driven)
