Well if you know someone else who (up until *months* ago at least) can put in £20m p.a. without so much as batting an eyelid get them in as you're so much smarter than the rest of us! ROFL. "Backed them to the hilt" - Yep always been a huge fan of Waggott/Broughton etc Better leave it there. Not too sure why you-re having a go at me completely unprovoked -I'm sure we're boring everyone else to death. -

Im not going to rise to the personal insults but again you-re talking purely with hindsight. Replacing Allardyce with an elite manager wouldnt or certainly shouldn't have been a problem. Replacing him with Steve Kean obviously turned into a disaster. "St. John" did a good job overall but was far from perfect and I don't think you understand my stance on the owners. If they're prepared to fund the Club up to the limit allowable under FFP, don't do anything illegal, stay in the background and employ decent people to run the Club then I'll take that all day long, charlatans or not. If they can't (or in this case wont) fund the Club then they're as much use as a chocolate fireguard and need to leave ASAP. -

It's all relative though. Easy to scoff now with the benefit of hindsight but the (not unreasonable) hope at the time was that they'd bring someone better in. They certainly had the wherewithal to bring an elite manager in. I didn't enjoy the Allardyce era at all. Walking down to the ground felt like a trip to the dentists. Prioritising certain games and more or less throwing others isn't for me and again imo you EITHER have to be entertaining OR winning matches regularly otherwise there's no real point. If you're winning as many matches as Kendall did, or Eustace is currently doing and are in with a shout of winning promotion or the occasional trophy that's great. If you're boring and going WDL all the time and are just about doing enough to stay up that's not really much in the way of entertainment imo. Again it's all relative and I'm sure we'd all take an Allardyce type now if we thought he could get us promoted. As we hopefully have with Eustace. -

Great post. -
Doesn't get involved enough.

Elliott Bennett used to annoy me no end stinking the place out on the pitch every week then giving it the big 'un after the match. Like most others though, for some reason I can't help but like Gueye even when he's had a shocker. Being Gallagher's replacement probably helps.

rIt's vitally important Travis stays fit for the rest of the season imo, he's developed into a fairly complete player, does the dirty work, drives us forward, niggles the opposition and is always in the officials ear. Notwithstanding that and the potential disruption any injuries at CB will cause I still think the priority acquisition is a striker who can find the back on the net on a reasonably consistent basis. If we have no injuries between now and the end of the season, we're just about good enough to compete in defence and midfield. If we have no injuries up front however we re still not good enough there. That's the key difference and the thing most likely to derail us. Before Saturday I would have said another pacy winger was needed but keeping Duberry fit could also be crucial. In an ideal world of course, we need cover or improvement at CB, midfield, and at least one if not two forward players who know where the net is but hey this is Venky's. I'd settle for one striker/forward who can register 5-10 goals before the end of the season. -

Talksport also said that paying compensation for Rohl would be a problem so you would hope the same thing would apply with Eustace. Knowing our lot however.......... -

Have to hope that's right. I saw an article online claiming he was under very serious consideration for the Wolves job. There must be some underlying reason other than the fact we're doing well that he appears near the top of runners and riders for virtually every job that crops up. Eustace CAN NOT be allowed to leave - at the very least not until the end of the season. The owners are allegedly multi billionaires, if they want to keep him at the Club, they can. -

Not sure how we're doing this, we've two strikers who although Gueye showed up well today don't look like they've got a goal in them between them and I didn't think we played all that well but it somehow translated into a relatively comfortable 2-0 win. Eustace is working absolute miracles with this squad. Thought Duberry was by far our stand out performer. It's a shame two of our best players (other one being Beck) belong to another Club. -

I was at the game today - Tronstad was completely anonymous first half and had a good second half. Overall he doesn't get involved enough for me. Merry Christmas to you too. -

Not going to disagree with your first statement but whilst Luton seem to have mysteriously fallen off a cliff this season I thought they acquitted themselves fairly well last. There was no end of times they managed to snatch defeat or a draw from a certain looking victory. -

Never mind Wednesday I don't understand what the the motivation of some of our supporters trying to take the goal of Gueye is. Not a difficult one for me, Gueye headed it, it brushed the top of the defender's head and went in. It was going in before it made contact with the defender's head so no problem. -
I was exaggerating somewhat to illustrate the point. But in all seriousness if they absolutely thumped us at home but we went up ** - who cares? I certainly wouldn't. ** Especially if they didn't.
-
Have to disagree on that! I look at it the other way round. If you could guarantee automatic promotion now but had to swallow a 0-9 home defeat by the Dingles I'd take it.

Im not really a fan but if he's anything he's a right sided offensive midfielder rather than a FB for me. -

His workrate always puts the rest of the team to shame imo. I didn't actually think it was one of his better games last night though. As I posted last night I thought a number of players were well off it yet we still won which hopefully is a great sign.
