Don't think "the incline" would have stretched anywhere near as far up as the the Dog Inn and Revidge. Maybe part of the way. There's a mild incline from Leamington Rd up to St Silas's Rd then it gets a lot steeper the other side of St. Silas's Rd. I had a quick look at that again last night and found a 2008 LT article from Andy Nield saying the "deal" was off with someone purporting to be Williams saying Rovers wanted too much money etc etc. At the time there was no trace whatsoever of Williams or his Company or any of his business activities on the Internet nor any photos of him, the only photo purporting to be him was that single College graduation style snap. Nield's article said that Williams' partners would have been a Connetticut based venture capital Company called Plainfield Asset mananagement. A search of Plainfield Asset Management now on Wikipedia shows that that it is a defunct Company started in 2005, was wound up in 2012 and by 2008 was "93% illiquid" with Customers barred from withdrawing their investment. I thought at the time, and am even more convinced in light of the above, it was a complete hoax, if anyone thinks different, that's fine.

It's a bit like convicting someone of murder on the basis that they said they were going to do it 12 months previously with zero actual evidence they eventually followed up on the threat. In any event, even if we did start in a white kit, we know we did swap to blue and white halves so it seems the founders must not have liked the white and swapped to the blue and white halves as a nod to their old school colours. We dont know if we played in a white kit at all, for a week, a month, a season, or just as a temporary measure because the blue and white ones weren't ready. We do know we were in blue and white halves by 1898 (Edit: Sorry 1878!) and of course they could have been in use for some time prior to that so if the white shirt ever existed at all, it must have proved unpopular (with the founders) and been an extremely short lived thing. But hey, let's use it as an anniversary shirt 150 years later.

Nixon's piece de resistance has to be his unwavering support for an American taking over the Club pre Venky's by the name of Dan Williams, a seemingly fictitious character who it's far from clear ever existed. Someone was pulling his chain big style with that one.

If you're on about that Kevin Maguire fella, I wouldnt put him in anything like the same bracket as Nixon. On the whole I think he is reasonably well informed, fair and balanced.

Realistically I can't see the Forum members themselves proposing a vote of no confidence in anyone. You'd hope though that the individuals in question would have the decency to do the right thing and fall on their swords and resign because as DE has correctly identified above the Forum is now a) a complete waste of time and b) is complicit in the Club manufacturing a false narrative of events.

Terrible comparison. Alf knew the system he wanted to play in advance and chose his players to suit the system. He merely swapped Hurst for Greaves. Vi started with a system which didn't work and was forced into a change of system due to injury. Doesn't really matter if we keep winning using the new system however though.

Thanks for these. If these minutes are accurate, what an absolute disgrace those responses from the Club are and it just highlights what a farce the Forum has become. My main take outs were: 1) They seem far more worried about who might have leaked any info about the kit situation rather than any substantive issues like "Is it the best deal for the Club/the development of the Club Shop and/ or the Supporters?" £80 for a shirt? Holy Cow! 2) Particularly puzzled by Lynsey Talbot's response that work on a drainage sleeve was "planned for that week" What week? The week of the Portsmouth game? Ipswich game? The same week the Forum was held? Was it ever completed? If so, we've heard nothing whatsoever about it. Is it the standard "we're looking into it" scenario? 3) RG treating people as absolute mugs by claiming we've signed "ten players" when in real terms we sold more than that. (Did no-one pull them up on why Hyam was sold in the last few hours of the window without a suitable replacement?) Also desperately disappointing to see that the resolution of the Court case in the owners' favour won't impact the budget in any way. RG again insulting everyone's intelligence by making out we're working to an agreed "budget" which implies a positive net spend when in reality we were about negative £2m net spend in summer plus presumably substantial wage savings. If the owners have allegedly upped their annual contribution to £20m p.a. - and we've slashed wage costs on players - and made a trading profit in the summer which won't be reinvested in the squad - and it's not being spent on the ground - and it's not being spent on the women's team - where's it all going? 4) They clearly seem to be planning on operating without a CEO going forward or at least leaving it as long as possible. 5) No contrition whatsoever about the fate of the women's side. 6) No acknowledgement whatsoever that the "150th celebrations" have turned into an absolute embarrassment.

Think you've cracked it there, more or less spot on Id say. If the Club did own a substantial plot of land beyond the far side of the pitch stretching up in the direction of the Dog Inn ("the incline") that could have provided a very impressive natural "Kop" for the purposes of watching the game. The only thing is if you had to enter the ground through gates nr the top of Leamington St/ Granville Rd it would have been a bit of a ball ache getting everyone in and out to and from the far side. Not really too different to everyone filing into the Riverside at the Blackburn End and walking down to the far end though I dont suppose.

Feast or famine with this fella. Seven points from ten games then nine points from three. Im still far from convinced but odd how he's now managed to pull out a consecutive run of victories twice when the situation looked absolutely untenable on both occasions.
