  1. You make it sound like it was all his fault. JDT for all his pleasing attributes definitely WAS taking us down. Eustace managed to stop the rot and kept us up.
  2. Two keepers would have been struggling to get anywhere near that.
  3. Derby did nothing whatsoever wrong yesterday nor has there been anything whatsoever wrong with the vast majority of referees we've had this season. Im now convinced Exiled is on quite a clever wind up, moaning about the referee and our bad luck the minute we walk on the pitch every week and seeing who bites. He had me fooled for ages.
  4. Why is it lazy analysis? You can be as tricky, exciting, or fast as you want as a winger but at the end of the day unless you're either creating chances for others or scoring them yourself it's all for nowt. Incidentally I thought Grealish turned into an absolute parody of himself at Citeh. Everytime anyone gave him the ball he just gave it straight back. Anyone could do that and take zero risk. Pep got most of the flak for that for instructing him to play in a certain way but even he must have got sick of him eventually as he initially left him out then moved him out of the Club.
  5. I've mentioned it before but I think they're pretty fortunate to be as high as they are in the table. Without all those late goals earlier on in the season they'd be in a right predicament.
  6. I use it with sarcasm because it's a modern buzzword designed to hoodwink people into thinking all is well when it's clearly not i.e. "We're all aligned" (therefore by definition everything is clearly going to be ok despite all obvious signs to the contrary etc) Or we're "on a journey" (Mowbray) or we have to "trust in the process". There's another couple. Id have thought we'd have a lot better chance of success if rather than have a Head Coach completely on board with pursuing a disastrous policy, we had an ambitious Coach like JDT or Eustace completely at odds with Gestede and Pasha begging them to spend as much as possible on the team.
  7. And that would have been before the improved new TV deal for the Championship. Edit: MP beat me to it.
  8. What absolute tosh. Eustace (I think) had Birmingham in the play off positions when he was sacked there, had us in the play off positions when the management forced him out here and already has Derby within striking distance of the play offs. There's a bit of a pattern there........ I get the rivalry aspect but personally Id save the derision for ex coaches who were crap for us. So by the same token I guess you'd say we should have been waving plastic snakes (if they made them in those days) at Furphy, Lee, Smith, Kendall, Mackay, Dalglish, Hughes etc?
  9. When I've seen him on TV in the past he's generally looked bright but I thought he wasn't quite top class in that there was a real lack of end product in terms of final ball and/or scoring. Thought he looked the real deal today though. How long did Salah get a new deal for? With the benefit of hindsight that looks like it could have been one of the most expensive mistakes ever. I'd be trying to shunt him off to Saudi pronto in January.
  10. What would you have preferred he said just before an important Cup tie? "Well yeah (y'know) frankly I've had enough of working for these tossers, I want clarity on my own future and those of our key players and have had no joy so far. If I can't get it then I think my long term future would be better served by moving to Derby." I can't believe you're so hung up about him telling a white lie. If anything you should be annoyed at the Club for allowing him to stay in charge for that particular game as they clearly had no intention whatsoever of acceding to his wishes or even attempting to meet him halfway as "Project transition" was clearly in the offing.
  11. Completely agree. Terrible decision. I think there's a argument to be had that the law should be that if you're stood in an offside position you're off but unfortunately that catches someone stood on the far side of the pitch etc. So I've no problem with the law as currently drafted and as such the goal should have stood.
  12. I assume that all the new signings will be on a lot more than a 12 month contract and doubt they would have agreed relegation Clauses down to League 1 levels so I'm in the camp that losses would be far larger if we went down. I would have thought the "plan" is to spend the minimum possible whilst just about staying up.
  13. Eustace has only been at Derby less than half a season yet his career there is already mirroring his here. Saved a Club that looked doomed to relegation then next season has them in and around the top 6. Meanwhile, our mon is taking us in the other direction. But we're better off apparently because he's "honest" in interviews as one diabolical decision after another occurs with his blessing, and doesn't say "y'know" a lot in his pressers.
  14. Well, thank God they're all "aligned" or we might end up losing nearly all our home games or something. Oh errr..... hang on! What do you define as "it succeeding"? Cutting costs but going down? Cutting costs but scraping up in at best 19th? I'd define "it succeeding" as cutting costs yet still managing to maintain a similar League position to last season. Imo there isn't a snowballs chance in hell of that happening, they can be as aligned or onboard as they like.
  15. It's not quite in the category of putting Sam Gallagher on at RB then hooking him again 20 mins later but it's not good. What must the young CB's at the Club think when they see stuff like this happening? Wonder if they're in line for a hefty pay increase if they make a senior appearance?
  16. He's never quitting, he seems full square on behind the "transition".
  17. I mean even if you didnt know anything whatsoever about the history of BRFC anyone with half a brain cell proof reading that should twig that couldnt possibly be correct. As I said in response to Paul reporting no pies in the Riverside for the first time ever, no-one gives the shiniest shit down there.
  18. Spend the least money possible and finish 21st would be the ideal season for Pasha. Dont suppose the owners are that bothered either way. They might care if we lose the £8m p.a. Championship TV money though.
  19. Im going to buy you and Exiled one of those "Pears" mugs for Christmas.
  20. Lol. That'll be the team that's won 5 on the bounce you're on about.
  21. Unnecessarily abrasive. Why arent you having a go at people ridiculously blaming Pears for the defeat today? Hedges is shit. At least Im consistent in my view and dont change my mind back and forwards every 5 mins whenever someone has a couple of ok games. But if you like him at CB or anywhere else for that matter, knock yourself out - it's a game of opinions.
