Championship 24/25

Anyone see the Sheff Urd lad getting sent off v Coventry? Very unlucky I'd have thought. Would have given him a yellow and the Coventry scumbag a red. -

Lashing down with sleet/rain this morning. Wouldn't be at all surprised if we're called off due to a waterlogged pitch. -

Yes. I meant "A lot" relatively speaking in comparison to the pitiful number I'd imagine they'll shift. -

Ah OK - thanks. Mental, if they came into effect immediately they'd be far better value and they'd shift a lot more. -

When does the Half ST kick in? I assumed that since it was being advertised now it was available immediately which would obviously make a big difference as we still have 15 of the 23 home games left to play by my calculations. -

Waste of space - need to get him off the wage bill if we can ASAP. -

In devil's advocate mode the Club website claims that starts at £20.75 per game for the BBE/Riverside etc. Pro rata, was that a big difference from the price of a full price ST? -
John Eustace - our head coach

I do find it a bit worrying that nearly every time a Championship vacancy pops up, Eustace is mooted as one of the front runners. That would seem to indicate to me he is (unsurprisingly) somewhat unsettled here or that it is common knowledge within the industry he has some sort of release clause which makes it relatively easy for a rival to poach him. Edit: Hopefully, like Plymouth, Coventry are dazzled by the stardust they think Lampard can bring to their Club and they go down the foolhardy road of appointing him instead. -

Is this one of your inspired predictions like Manchester United are going bust? Who on earth is Gautam Adani and does he have the slightest connection or relevance to Blackburn Rovers? Also, saying that the owners won't be pumping in £20m a year from now on isn't exactly the boldest prediction in the world given we've been surviving on the net proceeds of transfers for the last 15 months. -
John Park head of recruitment
RevidgeBlue replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Chaddy, Park's loyalty to Mowbray didnt extend beyond the lure of another pay cheque when Waggott came calling in summer. I can't detect from your matter of fact tone whether you regard this amount of upheaval as perfectly normal, nothing to see here. Would you concede that it is indicative of a Club in crisis behind the scenes? -
John Park head of recruitment
RevidgeBlue replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Not overly bothered by Park leaving per se although I did think the recruitment in the summer was a lot better than under the Egg. Indicative of an unhappy camp behind the scenes though. And as the latest adjournment of the Court case provides a ready made excuse not to spend in January, how long before Eustace tires of the circus I wonder? -
The England Team - all the news, views…

Hopefully this puts an end to the renewed "We should have given Carsley the job" and "We shouldn't have picked a German for National Coach" chatter which sprang up in some quarters after the improved performance Thursday night. Let's get Tuchel in, give it a Gary Bowyer style "right good go" with the best available man for 18 mths, and see if we can get another gold star on the shirt. -
I think Howard is Jack's stepson. Russ or Ross is his natural son. Not that it is of much relevance these days.

As a side note after fourteen years it seems like we might be in exactly the same boat as regards the owners as we were in the latter stages of Walker Trust ownership with them refusing to put any further money in - only a division lower, with a decimated fan base and the Club technically £250m in debt to said ownership. Fourteen completely wasted years and that's putting it mildly. -

They have actually guaranteed the same in the accounts stating that they will fund the Club for the foreseeable future even if Bank facilities are withdrawn etc etc. Of course whether that Guarantee is worth the paper it's written on is very much a matter of opinion bearing in mind the events of the last 15 months or so. I'm guessing that if pushed Waggott and the owners would concede that they now want the Club to wash it's own face as far as possible but make out that wherever necessary the owners would step in to keep the Club running if needed. Whether or not any comfort can be taken from that assurance is doubtful given that it appears they are currently able but seemingly unwilling to provide the Club with any funding for anything over and above essential day to day running costs such as transfers etc. Remember us being told originally they could ask the Court for money for essential day to day running expenses but not transfer funding? Having learned a little more about it and with the benefit of hindsight that now all seems like a load of hogwash. From the poster who says he was "lucky" enough to have have had a conversation with Suhail recently it appears clear that they now seem to view the Court proceedings as more or less an irrelevance. Perhaps they are committed to funding the Club as required because otherwise that's an extremely naive and complacent view point. NEWSFLASH: There isn't an Adam Wharton round every corner - there isn't even a Szmodics - maybe a Carter currently who is worth around half a Szmodics so unless they are willing to start putting money in again Herbie's scenario of us being unable to pay our bills and the Footballing authorities over here starting to become involved won't be too far away. -

In the meantime worth the gamble on £300k p.a. plus a massive annual pension contribution. -

So according to that they're prepared to put enough money in to keep us afloat even if Bank facilities are withdrawn but seemingly aren't prepared to put any money in currently. Hmmmm......... Noticeable that "the model" now relies unashamedly on player sales. Lots to look forward to for the next few years! -

Do we have any proof that they actually have to lodge or have lodged a financial bond equivalent to any monies sent over? Because that's not really what the Court judgment which was reproduced on here says. Either way, be it a financial bond or personal guarantees, the net effect is the same, they don't seem willing to do it. -

What a surprise. Another transfer window will go by the wayside. As mentioned by other posters Waggott needs specifically challenging on his previous assertion that there is "no impediment" to the owners funding the Club as normal. To boil it down to it's simplest terms, this can't be correct as if it were, why would the owners be bothering to go to Court at all ? The accounts also state in black and white that liquidity has only been maintained to date thanks to cost cutting and player sales which again contradicts his previous proclamations on the subject. Don't suppose anyone will actually be able to extract a confession out of him that the owners don't want to fund the Club whilst they have to furnish personal guarantees but we should certainly try our utmost and it should be satisfying seeing him squirm in the meantime. -
