  1. Your problem is you answer a perfectly straightforward question with a statement that is completely unrelated to the question. As for the second paragraph your view that they will only go when they are ready and nothing else will persuade them is not factual, it's purely a matter of opinion. Finally as I stated at the time, and not that I have to justify it, my attendance at the Millwall game was a one off due to meeting up with friends. I voted with my feet about 3 years ago but would have no problem with attending the occasional game in similar circumstances just as I have no problem with anyone still attending or refusing to boycott. It's a matter of personal choice. A boycott clearly isn't for you and that's fine. But in the circumstances I dont really know why you contribute to a thread specifically dedicated to the organisation of a boycott or to this thread where people have opened up about their dissatisfaction with the Club. All you do is pour cold water on it saying it won't work or suggest filling the ground instead which is the exact opposite of what the organisers of this ONE OFF event are trying to achieve.
  2. Not surprised at the opinions they hold in the slightest. Bit taken aback at the level of vitriol though.
  3. He was one of my favourite ever players.
  4. That sounds like complete BS. If as alleged all along we have a legally binding option to purchase, what is there to discuss?
  5. You dont like giving a straight answer do you? Are you/were you a politician in your daytime job? Maybe they'll be "ready" a little sooner if they have to contend with some sustained criticism. We'll never know unless others try on our behalf.
  6. Don't suppose we mind, it makes us look like we are doing something.
  7. I thought he was poor here. Was it under Coyle or Lambert?
  8. And he was shit even back then. That would be a new low in the barrel scraping.
  9. Im surprised at the level of vitriol they have towards supporters with a different viewpoint and this site in particular. Imo it merely reinforces the point that I was having a Mrs. Merton style "heated debate" with Matty about. There's absolutely no point trying to win the hearts and minds of everyone, some supporters just won't agree. However to my mind if a boycott has SOME success it's job done. Similarly if the Coalition feel a boycott and/or subsequent protests are the right thing to do they must press on regardless of whether some disagree. If anyone else wants to formally present the other point of view about why most of us on here and the Coalition are completely wrong then of course it's always open to them to do so. Tbf to chaddy he seems to be doing his best to emphasise everyone should respect everyone else's point of view on there.
  10. Some familiar names on there. Take it Drog is thenodrog formerly of this parish and goozburger was formerly a reasonably regular contributor on here although he had a hissy fit with me at some point as I recall. Who's Old Darwen Blue - how dare he call me a lefty!🤣 I was also wondering where chaddy had gone but those particular posts seem to pre date his most recent posts on here. Maybe he's trying to work out how all the meticulous planning he said we'd done hasnt translated into signings yet.
  11. Abso-bloody-lutely. So what news of these two strikers VI allegedly wants? Im not interested in yarns about loans for young wing backs from Villa or back up keepers until those are sorted.
  12. Not really surprising - I literally wouldn't accept one as a gift. It's an insult. I'd either give it away again or chuck it in the bin. Even if you're not as opposed to it on principle as I am - then there's the price. As with engraving the wrong date on the replica FA Cup it's hard to see how the Club can seemingly get everything SO wrong. Unless they're doing it deliberately to either wind people up and/or drive them away.
  13. Ive heard the phrase "I want a Club to be proud of" a number of times from Herbie and others on here recently. I dont think I would even put it that high. Id like to see a Club that is TRYING. Everyone makes mistakes and doesnt get everything right. Nor is there a divine right to success. However if I thought I saw a Club that I thought was once again acting in good faith, TRYING to win football matches, TRYING to be successful and didnt appear to view it's supporters like something they'd just stepped in on the pavement................... Id take that compared to what we have now.
  14. You didnt bring anyone down with your beautifully written post. I suspect for many the thread has also provided a valuable outlet for a cathartic outpouring of grief.
  15. Do we need all these keepers at different levels? (Genuine question as I dont know)
  16. I respect your opinion but for £5m + Id be starting the car now. Maybe even £3m - £4m. I can't see even our lot selling Toth AND Pears. Hopefully we manage to offload Pears for around £1m and can bring in either a capable deputy or a young prospect whose career is on the upgrade.
  17. How much do you think Toth would fetch if sold then? Edit: Not the most reliable guide I know but Ai and Transfer Market have his estimated value at £700 k. Id say that's a bit low but I wouldnt pay silly money for him.
  18. On either the loans or the Academy thread thought I read we had 1) Toth 2) Pears 3)Michaelowski 4) Goddard 5) Jack Barrett 6) A lad called Khan? (May have the name wrong but no-one seemed to rate him) plus maybe even one other? Apologies if Im wrong.
  19. Not going to argue with anyone who says he's better than Pears and he's improved since he first arrived but imo he's not that good no. "Shit" is your term looking for confrontation not mine.
  20. Makes sense. I think we only have about six keepers already on the books. As always linked with non starters or cheap squad fillers and never anyone who will actually significantly improve the starting X1. Edit: tbf just checked and he seems to have been out for a while having sustained an ankle injury during the play off finals. He wouldnt have to be particularly good to be an upgrade on either Toth or Pears.
  21. I dont actually think it's a priority to challenge the non response to the letter, the longer it is ignored, the worse it looks on the Club. In response to your second point, I hope the boycott is a huge success from your point of view, but even if it is, I doubt it will achieve much in itself frankly. Sustained action over an extended period of time however might, and it all has to start somewhere and this is an ideal first step.
  22. You've summed it up perfectly there in three and a bit lines. For me there's simply no point in wasting time and money actively following a Club whose only goal is to be "sustainable" (Pasha) or which says in February/ March when you're in the play off positions that the goal for the season was never actually making them but planning for the following season. (Gestede) All allowed by owners with no interest who couldnt care less.
  23. So what's your solution? Give up and do nothing?
