  1. Give over. How many games has he genuinely missed this season due to injury and not Mowbray thinking he's Pep Guardiola? Picked up one nasty injury in a challenge that could have happened to anyone. Was available again sooner than expected. Other than that relatively injury free this season
  2. Great Post. Mowbray chose not to bring in a back up striker by his own admission - the inevitable happened and BBD got injured - the tinkerman returned and started playing people in positions they were not comfortable with and the players seemingly lost belief in what they were doing.
  3. " Couple of surprise additions" on there as well. Lol. Am I right in thinking people actually now pay him for that shite?
  4. I agree with roversfan99 on this, we don't even have a vacancy until the Club announce he is going. I hope Mowbray will reimburse anyone who has placed bets on the next manager market should he agree a new deal this week having previously insisted on several occasions he will be leaving. Almost definitely, well probably, well I'll wait and see what they have to say. Never say never.
  5. Looks like Nixon is talking through his backside as per. How can we have compiled a shortlist of 6 if we haven't decided what type of coach/manager we want. ?
  6. A statement which way? Does Sharpe still think he's leaving then? Edit: Will be Aldi Champagne for me if it's announced. Might even stretch to a second bottle.
  7. Pretty sure that that was rumoured to be another wealthy Indian chap who was connected to cricket in some way. There's nothing whatsoever to suggest the Issa brothers have any interest in the Club.
  8. As Norwich Leeds and Watford were in a higher division than us season just gone..... No!
  9. Well, whether by luck or by design, thank god he was kept in the dark in January, otherwise, he'd now be sat happily on the balance of a new deal with no-one, (not even yourself by your own admission) wanting him to stay! I don't know what it is you're complaining about, you're arguing against yourself.
  10. They have been (and continue to be) led a merry dance by various charlatans imo (The bringing in of John Park for example, good grief) and of course if they're not keeping a close enough eye on what's going on on the ground then of course the buck stops with them. All I would say is that the financial contribution combined with the apparent determination not to sell us any time soon indicates am element of good faith on their part as opposed to being malicious. I just don't think we're top of their list of priorities in terms of their overall business empire unfortunately. Will that improve or change going forward, who knows? It's not looking like it just yet despite promises to the contrary 12 months ago. However a stellar managerial appointment would be a major step forward and might indicate the start of a shift in attitude.
  11. I don't know anything about Cocu's background but you might be right. Not sure there's any real evidence he's in line for the job here bit that might only be down to the fact he's not with the right agency. It would be just as bad for me if we end up with another HSH dud ( of which Mowbray is one).
  12. I'm not sure why you're on one with me just recently. I've never pretended their record as owners has been good. I merely note that they have made and continue to make a massive financial contribution to the Club. To which Im sure you would say - "It's the least they can do it's entirely self inflicted" to which I'd agree BUT in an ideal world the best way forward would still be to combine their financial clout with a top class manager and competent personnel running the Club behind the scenes. If they continue to refuse to do that (I.e. by re-hiring Mowbray and retaining Waggott) then it doesn't matter how much money they plough in, it will continue to go to waste.
  13. Not sure exactly what point you're trying to make there? if he gets a new deal, to coin one of Gav's favourite phrases it will mark a new low in their period of ownership for me
  14. Just looked it up 2013/14, 8th with 70 points from 46 games. Only 2 points behind Brighton in 6th. They've been on a somewhat different "journey" to us since then. They've found their way onto the motorway whilst we're stumbling down a dead end country lane like a man in a blindfold. Still, "slow builds" are best, eh?
  15. The arrogance of the man is utterly breathtaking. By February we needed to produce relegation form.in the second half of the season to somehow avoid the play offs and he duly obliged. That proves beyond a shadow of a doubt it was the correct move NOT to dive in with both feet at Christmas and offer him a new deal. Yet he's got the bloody nerve to moan about. it. The owners will probably be naive, gullible and stupid enough to give him a new contract on improved terms now anyway after he's played them like a fiddle in the press over the last ten days with his "woe is me" routine but that's a separate issue.
  16. On the plus side I don't believe there is any sell on clause in Brereton's contract. On the downside, given he currently only has 12 months to go (at best) our hand may be forced.
  17. Only took over at Wednesday on 1st of March 2021 and was unable to stop them from going down but I'm sure you knew that. Wonder who else that sounds like? Don't recall you blaming him for that here!
  18. Yep. It's important we don't sell Phillips imo. BBD I'm a bit worried by. Didn't show much in the second half of the season. I'm normally dead set against selling any of our best players no matter what the cost but I'd be fairly ambivalent now if we got £20m for him.
  19. Never saw £3m quoted either but fair enough - I thought the figure mentioned was a derisory £1m. The owners were quite correct to turn it down at the time imo. Imagine if Rothwell had gone on to star for Bournemouth and we'd have dropped out of the play offs. We did anyway as things turned out but no-one could realistically have predicted Mowbray and the team would have performed so abysmally in the second half of the season. Hindsight is a wonderful thing sometimes.
  20. Does that mean by process of deduction the other two will be staying? Excellent news if true. Good luck to Rothwell. Largely mismanaged by Mowbray and should do well under a different manager.
  21. Never saw any suggestion Bournemouth were offering £4m?.
