  1. Quite often when you want them off the wage bill but there's no takers on a permanent basis.
  2. So why dont they play him in their own side if he's that good? Let's see if it happens anyhow. You can be linked with anyone but it's irrelevant unless they actually end up here. Im calling BS on that particular one with the mock up of him in last year's kit as well.
  3. Yes but generally to Clubs below us/them who think the loanee could improve them. Are this Club so far above our level this guy could make a massive difference on loan?
  4. Maybe with the second one, first one, just play him in your own team then! Until it happens as with all transfer rumours involving us I'll take it with a lorry load of salt. If there's any mileage in it though, not for the first time this summer we seem to be seeking a deal completely different from what the selling Club want. "Β£4m ? How does Β£1.5m sound?" "We know we agreed a deal but our medical has uncovered a minor problem that might flare up in future. We'll offer a pay as you play arrangement." "You'll ONLY willing to let him go out on loan? Can we have a loan with a view?" Creates the impression of activity I suppose.
  5. I wasn't overly concerned when Weimann left but the point with him is that he did chip in from time to time and prove himself a very useful squad member and he hasnt been replaced. I was concerned about the prospect of Dolan leaving and he hasnt been replaced either. 14 goals and two senior bodies down from a squad that wasn't exactly freescoring in the first place
  6. Story sounds fake. Why would the selling Club prefer a loan to a loan with a view? You'd have thought it would be the other way round.
  7. The point with Wharton I think is that if we had not been so desperate to shove him out of the door to keep the lights on when we did, there would have been a lot more interest the following summer and we'd have achieved a much better fee. Β£18m was ludicrous given the general state of the market both then and now.
  8. I thought Batth was brilliant for us but a fully fit Wharton is our best CB imo. Would have loved to have seen them play together. Anyone saying Batth isn't a big loss is just being silly imo.
  9. Looked it up. -18.34 %? That's quite a lot.
  10. What's the percentage reduction over the year?
  11. I can't tell whether you're being serious with that post.
  12. This obviously isn't the case here though as we're allegedly trying to get him on reduced terms. I have to say it all sounds a bit smoke and mirrors like to me to create the illusion we're doing something. If Im wrong and we end up signing him, fair play.
  13. Absolutely, with no replacements for Weimann or Dolan either.
  14. Less hassle for them and the local Police? Certainly seemed to be Waggott's MO and the trend hasnt been reversed since he left.
  15. I dont think we were ruthless enough in mopping up all the support in the region when we won the Prem. Then again, no matter what figure we'd got to, we'd have lost most of it again over the last 15 years.
  16. Please dont spoil chaddy's "Everything is great here, everyone else is shit" narrative with facts!
  17. It didn't sound like the newly reconstituted role consisted of much more than overseeing things in the hospitality areas on match day tbh.
  18. Even if we did hire a female CEO, that wouldn't detract from what they've done to the women's team in the slightest. In fact it would be even more embarrassing for her to defend it. "As a woman what do you think of the decision to....." etc etc
  19. It's not just lack of cover thats the problem, the first choice options dont have many if any goals in them based on last season's performance.
  20. A mistake I can accept but there was definitely something off there. There were rumours that Ashby had been shall we say feted by Ferguson and Man Ure over the years.
  21. Wasn't that the game where Gerald Ashby decided "That won't do" and decided to send Berg off and award a penalty to even things up?
  22. It's probably about the time we need VI to "do a JDT or Eustace" and threaten to walk out if there aren't any serious attempts at recruitment. Sadly I'm guessing he's not that man, indeed in public he's been professing his happiness about how well things are going and the state we are in.
  23. Yep, if only we'd have made no signings whatsoever in any position, we'd have been so strong we'd have romped the League by 10 points!
