Hospitality at Ewood is an enormous rip off. Think we paid over £150 in the premier suite vs pne last year or year before. Ticket, an average 3 course meal, match programme and maybe a “free” drink. At the time we couldn’t understand why northcote would put its reputation to the stuff we were eating. Worked out we could have gone to the actual northcote for 6 course meal (£85), match ticket in the jw seats (£35) and still had £30 to play with.

Don’t remind me. Stuart law was not out in a month of Sundays. Worse still it was that chucker that got all the wickets.
-
The curse of the £7 million donkeys. Brereton, grabbi, Davies.
-
The problem as I see it is for Mowbray is we have 20 players all much of a muchness so he’s trying to keep everyone happy as a result he’s dusted off Bowyer’s tombola machine and out comes names at random going into positions at random.

Travis was so much better.

I wouldn’t have sent Williams off for what he did. But if I was a referee as a rovers fan I’d look to send him off at every opportunity to benefit the team.
-
If this game has shown tony anything it’s that we’re better with 10 men than with 11 including Williams. Bennett as well let’s get him off and see if we can push for an equaliser with 9 men.
-
Been better with 10 men.
-
Spurs away under Kean was probably worse. Not by much though.
-
Re the sending off. He doesn’t get the ball or the man for me. Had Williams stayed on his feet sure nothing would have come of it but once he flails around Fletcher was always going down which then give the ref a decision.
-
The only consolation is it’s only 1-0. The mistakes everywhere are just hideous.
-
Had a decent minute there. Small victories.

Can’t watch much more of this. I really can’t.

We’re all over the place here.
-
Pathetic from mulgrew there.
-
This is awful.

We were shafted there. Boro were deducted 3 points in a game they would have almost certainly lost. But in the rescheduled game it was a draw so effectively we were 2 pts worse off than we would have been and boro 1 point better off than they would have been. 23 years ago so no doubt I’ll get over it soon.

There are words people with strong Lancastrian accents pronounce such as kewd/owd/nowt/owt or the dreaded buzz instead of bus. Then local phrases like cracking the flags but sometimes there’s words I thought were nationally standard until people from different areas challenge what I’m saying. I thought mithered/oined were universally standard words but apparently not. Pop (fizzy drink) is apparently a northern phrase. Those maiden things for drying clothes are called something else down south. Not even sure if this one is from lancs but I call those hard bits of skin between nail and finger stepmother jags but heard them called hangnails.

Blackpool but a strong Lancashire grouping for me. Got the mrs to do it she was all over the country.

Exiting conclusion in South Africa. Perera 153 not out in 2nd innings to win by a wicket is very impressive. Particularly in a very low scoring game. Stunning really.

First time this series we’ve been ahead. Makes a difference having a bloke who consistently bowls 90mph and a few at 95mph.
-
Out of interest who would people of that vintage consider to be the greatest ever Blackburn born and bred player?
-
As for this St Lucia test Jennings is simply an atrocious test player. The sooner he’s back at Lancs the better for both England and Lancs. Having been dropped twice on 3 playing the same drive. He had a thrash at another then got out to the exact same shot next ball. Quite pathetic scenes really.

It’s nice to win anything for sure. For me personally it’s all about test series wins, particularly away ones, and the ashes as the crowning jewel. I appreciate this summer winning the 50 overs World Cup would be a more noteworthy achievement than beating Ireland in the one off test but personally I’d take another 2015 debacle or the 2014 t20 defeat to Holland if it meant regaining the ashes.
