  1. Charlie Austin is to be released by Southampton.
  2. Having missed very few games since the 60s, including disappearing from a family holiday in Spain to watch Rovers, I’ve just found out the old man is returning to ewood after a 7 year absence. He said he wouldn’t be back until both Kean and the Venkys left so he’s not too thrilled about going but peer pressure from his grandson took its toll. Trying to explain to a 6 year old about terrible owners who took over before he was born wasn’t cutting much ice. By and large I don’t like the 90 mins drudgery (particularly home games) but the little uns enthusiasm for match day is infectious. Could be more the fact in his mother’s absence he can drink coke and eat junk food but he does enjoy the day. I fondly remember going with my grandad and dad so in the bigger picture hope he takes the same memories.
  3. Can’t believe the saviles lost to Wigan. Ha. Staying down my lord staying down.
  4. Oh no Big Ben put his jumper back on. What might have been
  5. Travis seems to orchestrate things. Might be reading into it too much but for his age looks impressive.
  6. Don’t know how it went in. Even of a pen tempted to say dreadful keeping.
  7. Trent bridge is class. We debated about a day out in Nottingham or loftus road today. Not sure how the latter won. In a lot of ways for all the money thrown at the redevelopment the ground is worse.
  8. Changing at Harrow and Wealdstone. Then think getting underground to Willesden Junction then from there to Shepherd’s Bush.
  9. Bit of a mission on the trains today. 4 changes to Shepherd’s Bush I think. Not so bad going down but coming back after an all dayer could be problematic.
  10. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t routing for anyone to win other than him. But I do have a begrudging respect after 4 knee ops, 3 back ops and spinal fusion. Still dislike the bugger. Once again I thought the coverage was horrendous. Basically a homily to woods before he hit a ball. Then a few times cut away from other golfers shots to watch him basically walk between green and tee.
  11. Davies hurt his hand in the field on day one. I didn’t go but few of the lads went Saturday and said: “It was apparent how together the lancs team was. Maxwell was geeing everyone up constantly and talking to the likes of bohannon and jones in the field. Just what overseas players are meant to do.” So encouraging signs. Not that I think it’ll be a problem getting promoted with 3 going up.
  12. Tremendous win for lancs. Positive cricket all game against probably the strongest team in the division. Livi to come back in as well once he’s finished pimping himself out to the IPL. First win at lords since 2006.
  13. At the moment Grabbi with his mighty 2 goals is pele compared to this bloke. That being said I’d be tempted to start him up front in each of the remaining games. Hopefully one ricochets of his shin or something and he gets some confidence and looks like a £7 million player. My gut instinct is in 20 years time people will be talking about him as the worst signing in the clubs history.
  14. I’m hoping after Tuesday Mowbray has seen the light. Let’s not worry about what the opposition can do let the opposition worry about what we can do to them. We might lose but I can stomach defeats easier if I feel we’ve tried to win. I just hope the Evans/smallwood partnership sitting in front of the back 4 has been consigned to the ash heap of history. Suppose it’s a little too much to hope Bennett doesn’t get a start (no 10, rb so he’s probably due a start on the wing)
  15. Think I’m right in saying he scored 113 runs for the entire of last season at an average of 9 so already gone past that. I must admit I thought he was a one season wonder hopefully he’ll come good. If he does though he’s got the England opener position nailed on if he doesn’t he’s no good for Lancs. So it’s lose lose for lancs.
  16. Easily to hammer a bloke after a defeat so I think I’ll say after one of the best performances of the season I don’t think he’s the man to carry us forward. Crippling lack of sensible investment in the summer/January is one thing but why it took them so long to basically do what fans have been saying they should do is worrying. We could all see it for months so why they couldn’t worries me. Eternally grateful to Tony but with the massive job in the summer I dont think he’s the man for the job.
  17. I kind of feel like for months all we’ve wanted to do is win the lottery and it finally occurred to the management to buy ticket.
  18. Well well well. For once picking a team that had the potential to go on the front foot and we win. Hopefully he’s seen the light. It’s not like haven’t been saying it for months. I sometimes wonder what these experts are being paid for when it was blindingly obvious to a bunch of bozos on a message board.
  19. I’ll have a gentleman’s bet that irrespective of the match situation we’ll make substitutions on the 66th minute, 75th minute and 83rd minute.
  20. Who knows one day he’ll see Bennett for what he is.
