  1. The 4th official they dragged out of the crowd is holding his own.
  2. It’s a good job millwall are crap because we’re terrible today.
  3. Nuttalls second touch is a tackle. 7 million doesn’t buy you a lot if Brereton can’t get in ahead of him.
  4. Let’s just have an attempt at goal.
  5. In spite of the Burnley dialling code going to the white swan. I suspect with its Michelin star prices up portions down. Also I’ll be interested to see how it now compares to northcote.
  6. I know what your saying. I also like rangers because after our uefa cup match vs Celtic we went into a rangers pub. In the years since none of us can remember the name when it comes up but it was close to Celtic park and plastered in rangers memorabilia. Honestly I’ve never encountered a more hospitable bunch than those drinkers in there. Still just young enough not to look ridiculous in a football strip there was no mistaking our allegiances and we literally couldn’t put our hands in our pocket in spite of trying throughout the night to reciprocate the generosity. The locals took pity on us having watched one of the most one sided games of football ever seen ending in defeat.
  7. As being both a proud Englishman and proud Brit I have a soft spot for rangers as the quintessential British club. Of course that’s more to do with them being in a different league and pose no threat to rovers. Dingles aside there aren’t many clubs I hate more than Celtic. The whole poppy business is the tip of the iceberg.
  8. Australia followed on for the first time in 31 years at home. Then went off for bad light which seemed odd as appeared to be broad daylight. So at least the any excuse not to play mantra is consistent and not just something we do here.
  9. Thank god for that. Didn’t think we’d get anything before the game didn’t think we’d get anything at 2-0. But at last some points to show for the festive fixtures.
  10. 7 mins to go plus injury time. The only question really is will they win 2-3 or 2-4.
  11. At 2-0 it was 10/1 on double chance draw or wba win. Surprised wasn’t odds on
  12. Is their keeper the lads from Shrewsbury who had a hissy fit? Name rings a bell
  13. Need to be at least 3-0 up to have a chance. Although even that didn’t look to be enough vs stoke at times.
  14. Yeah can get back into Manchester. We’ve then booked a taxi from Piccadilly to home. Think my mate said it was £50 which isn’t so bad between us but it’s a bit of faff.
  15. For anyone thinking of going to this on the train I have been told there will be no trains coming back from Sheffield after 2pm due to industrial action on the 29th. Looked at the Trainline app and seems to be right. So might have to make alternative arrangements if thinking of going via the train.
  16. Apparently if games finished at half time we’d be 6th and Norwich would be 18th. So they get stronger and we get weaker.
  17. Must admit I’m astonished shifted more than 1,000 to this. Great effort considering its £40 and the trains don’t run. We are a funny old fanbase. I remember in the same week we took 4,500 to feyenoord then 400 ish to Everton. Sadly over the years the latter is more common. As have a fair few Leeds fans as mates I’ve enjoyed Leeds away over the years. One thing they hate is the very comparable honours record. As proudtobeblue&white mentions leagues 3 vs 3, fa cup 6 vs 1, league cups 1 vs 1, European honours 0 vs 2. I know I have them on the ropes when they start including a European cup for some reason they feel entitled to (forget why). Little old Blackburn rovers vs the mighty Leeds United. I’ll defo bring it all up again. Then I’ll get well you lot won loads in 1800s (as if in some way they don’t count) to which I’ll say lucky for you there wasn’t a European competition back then as we’d have had 6 European cups as well. Nonsense really but gets them going.
  18. How does it all work now? In the highly unlikely event that England don’t top the group am I right in thinking still make the playoffs by virtue of this nations league stuff. Must admit lost track on how it all works. Also seem to recall they’ve increased the number of teams qualifying so pretty much every man and his dog qualifies now anyway.
  19. I enjoyed that fight. I really did and still want to hate the guy but over the years I find myself warming to him. I will bow down to the knowledge of folk on here that seem to know their boxing on another level. But from my only interested in watching the big fights vantage point it seemed to me wilder got outboxed. Wilder has that wild over head flail but didn’t have much else. Fair dos he put fury on his arse twice and had he not in the 12th surely fury would have won. But fighting a yank in the USA and wanting a favourable decision is like playing at old Trafford in the 90s and wanting a penalty. Watching that I don’t think Joshua will be too bothered about wilder, fury on the other hand...
  20. After qpr I was eyeing up the top of the league and thought 7-9 pts vs Rotherham, pne and Wigan. 1 point later and that team I was worried. What do I know. First time won by more than a goal in the league I think. ps. Who hit our last hat trick?
  21. To me this is little more than a geographically close game and to be fair I can’t speak for all Prestonians but the ones I know also see it that way. We have Burnley they have Blackpool. But I would say, like all the local Lancastrian clubs, they all seem have that mid 90s envy of us. Also living in Clitheroe and places over this way you tend to come across dingles but you rarely see Preston fans but for the rovers fans living/working in places like Chorley, Leyland, etc they will probably never see dingles but see plenty of Preston fans. So for them perhaps it’s a big game. Either way all the local clubs will forever live in our shadow and they know it.
