Yeah I’m not saying things will be fixed because of this for all the reasons you mention and more but root as captain was a big problem. A lot like rovers root as captain was a problem overshadowed by the travesty of the ECB in the same way Mowbray is a problem for rovers overshadowed by the Venkys.

Not before bloody time. One win in seventeen. Fingers crossed for the unflushable turd Harrison next.
-
It’s not even the fact they show every single one of his shots then only really shots from other people that are either good or bad. It’s live coverage of him walking from tee to green. Since his final putt the only coverage has been him walking to the clubhouse, highlights of his round and a lengthy interview. At least I can enjoy watching the golf now the circus has left town
-
🙏. I’m hoping it’s true but an extra 30 minutes or so on his drive the baggies fans will be hearing about that in spades.
-
Can’t be doing with the tiger watch coverage. I bet 50% of all shots shown in total are his. If include practice putts even more. Even when he’s not on the course they show live coverage of him leaving and arriving. It was barely tolerable when he was the best in the world now he’s a middle of the road player on one leg it’s too much.

I agree imagine having a manager who wants what’s best for the club rather that what’s best for himself. Plus even without the rovers connection there’s more logic to appointing Ainsworth now than there was for picking Mowbray in 2017
-
Small things about the stupidity of decision makers. Firing the sprinklers up for 5 mins before ko in our half. 3 players slipped this half.
-
Foolishly listened to more Mowbray pearls. We’re up there fighting to get in the top 6 seemingly said without a hint of irony considering we were 2nd 2 months ago.
-
Yeah exactly. Think it was before either the Luton or Swansea game only 2 months ago and we were still in second. Out of 5 of us sat in the pub 4 thought there was no chance of the play offs and 1 thought they were a certainty as we’d need to go on a relegation form run for the rest of the season to drop out. He should have known better.
-
Incredible that someone at the club even plucked his name out of thin air or more realistically rewarded handsomely by sem. He had a good season with West Brom in 2007/08 then his managerial career over the 9 years from then until rocking up here ranged from rank average to unmitigated disasters. The stars really aligned for him. An initial warm welcome simply because he wasn’t Owen Coyle then his subsequent mediocrity glossed over because things are better than under Kean. I’m convinced without the hellish Kean days where the fans suffered a very public humiliating defeat to the owners I reckon Mowbray would have been hounded out years ago. Particularly when he started with his “not 1995” crap.

Strikers on the wing, defensive midfielders up front, left backs on the right wing. IF Mowbray landed a decent championship club and had a war chest at his disposal it wouldn’t matter one jot with his tactical prowess. He has the cult of Tony Mowbray here he won’t want to give that up lightly. I can’t see it ending well for him if he got the Stoke or West Brom job and his opening gambit was to tell their fans about how difficult and long his journey is with the implication they’re lucky to have him.
-
Absolutely. It’s totally disrespectful to those fans who have enjoyed parts of his reign and at the end of the day Tony fucking Mowbray has been given the opportunity to manage Blackburn Rovers. He should be so lucky. He’ll never manage a club with the history of ours again at best chesterfield might not turn their nose up at him this time round. Ps. I wasn’t personally happy with his appointment, I didn’t even know he was still managing, but I was over the moon at Coyle leaving.
-
I agree with him. There is absolutely nothing about his time as manager to take any pride in. Well the division 3 promotion in a bald man finding a comb sort of way.

When pretty much everyone on here pre match was questioning the merits of leaving our best 3 attacking players on the bench and playing people out of position. It’s then hard to give him any credit for rectifying his own cock ups when it’s what all us know nowts said he should have done from the start. Unless the game plan was to waste an entire half of football, go behind and then see what we could do -

Surely not this is a man who goes out of his way to tell us he doesn’t make excuses. It’s almost as if what he claims doesn’t match up with the reality of what he says. -
We were 2nd in February that’s the magnitude of this seasons death spiral.

He’s a man of honour. He told us that for years. Plus now there’s not much in his pay off he can be really honourable. The equivalent of people throwing their season tickets onto the pitch during the final game. -

54:45-54:54 Do you think about the possibility of promotion?” “It doesn’t cross my mind one iota.” Followed by a diatribe bemoaning the fact Robbins has it so much easier than he did. -

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0btbgjp Funny how he casually drops in how Robbins has done a good job from where they were. In other words where he left them. “At Coventry I just thought let somebody else have a go. Salt of the earth considering he’d not won any of his first 10.” “Do you think about the possibility of promotion?” “It doesn’t cross my mind one iota.” The arrogant dismissive bugger. Of all the things he says that irritate me one little thing that bugs me is the fact that he sounds like his voice is being played on an old crackly record player. -
