If the Ukrainian act comes out and blows raspberries for a few minutes they’ll win.

Nice to see a Lancashire 500 at skeletors lair. Potentially the first. 🤷♂️. Either way won’t have been many.

Bowyer wasn’t good enough. Mowbray wasn’t good enough. The next bloke might be worse than both of them but whatever comes next the fact remains the Venkys have still only managed to find substandard managers -
It is most definitely a Mowbray thing: Middlesbrough 2011/12 - 2nd at Christmas - finished 7th. Middlesbrough 2012/13 - 3rd at Christmas - finished 16th. Coventry 2015/16 4th at Christmas -finished 8th. Rovers 2018/19 8th and 2 points off the play offs in January - finished 15th Rovers 2019/20 7th and 3 points off the play offs at Christmas - finished 11th Rovers 2020/21 8th at the end of January 3 points off the play offs - finished 15th. Rovers 2021/22 2nd in February 10 points clear of 7th - finished 8th. Rovers plucked him off the scrapheap after average to disastrous spells at boro/Celtic/Coventry. He’s stayed well beyond his use by date. I seriously doubt he’ll get a job above Rovers so to speak and IF he leaves I’ll watch with curiosity where he goes and will see whether all this talk of journey and more family time was bollocks too.

Until it’s confirmed (by someone other than him) I’ll still think it’s a machiavellian scheme from Moggadon to get a new contract. It’ll be his masterpiece. Tell the world you’re leaving only to rock up with a new 3 year deal. -

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10772757/amp/Bury-FC-come-administration-fan-owned-takeover-buys-Gigg-Lane.html Good for bury. Glad to hear they’ve retained their history rather than some sort of bury 2022. I see this as Rovers future so at least all won’t be lost. -
I’m not sure if the Venkys/swag had more input that would change things for the better. But I agree a proper ceo given decision making power would solve a lot of problems. Out of interest with everything considered where do you see rovers natural weigh as? Even with Venkys/swag I see it as mid table in this division.

Couldn’t read it after the first sentence. I’m not having that finishing 11th-15th in the championship is punching above our weight. At the very least it’s exactly our weight.

It’s slim pickins. But back 2017 Mowbray was the slimmest of slim pickins. Absolutely no one I knew was happy with that appointment at the time other than delight Coyle was gone. Yesterday we were trying to think of who would be the equivalent appointment today as Mowbray was in 2017. Thought of Ian Holloway. One good effort 10 years ago. Disastrous recent spells and not worked for about 2 years.

No idea why Appleton is the favourite. He was another Venky flop. Was lucky not to get sacked at half time vs millwall.

100% they should. We’re a bloody shambles and have been for 12 years so no surprises. This is all on our useless owners and the bumpkins they put in charge of the club. The fact our ceo is on £300k and couldn't handle his mates (a mate who got him the job no less) contract ending with respect is truly pathetic. However, there’s plenty out there who have defended the Venkys in recent years telling us we should be grateful for crumbs from their £1.5 billion fortune, so it’s a timely reminder to them that the Venkys are still shit, still haven’t learnt anything and nothing good will happen to rovers while there at the wheel. That said as far as Mowbray is concerned over the past 5 years there has been numerous occasions where he has blown smoke up their arse. So for me it’s karma that they’ve shown their true colours and are treating him appallingly now. You reep what you sow.

I wouldn’t say we’re in a much better place. After 5 years and another £120 million spent I’d say we’re in a slightly better place. Factoring in players out of contract, loanees returning to their clubs and likes of Brereton who will likely go I’d say the squad is marginally better. In terms of the club as a whole being far removed from the one he joined 5 years ago. £220 million in debt - worse off, no functioning boardroom - probably the same, his useless donkey mate as ceo - worse off, the medical and recruiting department all off to pastures new - worse off, ground 5 years more dilapidated - worse off, training ground/academy - same. Clearly not all his fault at all but other than him replacing an absolute cretin in coyle I’m struggling to see the great impact he’s had throughout the club.
