  1. Considering some of the names they’ve allegedly interviewed I wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest if Duncan bloody Ferguson was the “outstanding” candidate. No experience as a manager and cheap. Fits the Venkys like a glove. I tell a lie he has got managerial experience 5 games at Everton 1 win. Fairly shit. I can defo see this one happening
  2. Funny how it only happened at one end to one set of fans. Who knew that out of Madrid fans and Liverpool fans it would be the Liverpool end. The stairs in that end are packed. It’s almost as if they haven’t got seats to go to. Just from the videos I’ve seen must be 100s ticketless Liverpool fans in this ground. The point being all that is to the detriment of their own fans who have tickets and can’t get in as authorities are too busy dealing with the nonsense.
  3. Scouse not English as they say. We’re absolved.
  4. You’re not wrong. I was in Marseille for England vs Russia we were sat in a restaurant terrace tucking into some moules mariniere then the police formed over the road and I said look there’s trouble somewhere. They then fired the canisters into the restaurant full of middle aged England fans just eating their tea. Not chanting, not overly drunk. Set the tone.
  5. So Liverpool fans ripping each other off ✅ Liverpool fans charging turnstiles ✅ They’re consistent I’ll give them that. Any issue with Real Madrid fans getting in or is it just scousers.
  6. A few thoughts about last night: Parky didn’t bowl out - that’s crazy. So many times we conceded a four off the first ball of the over and put ourselves under instant pressure. I didn’t like the way players kept crowding around Vilas - it gave the impression of confusion. Not sure croft should be coming in at three. I fear Hartley might be found out a bit this season so will be interesting to see how he gets on. Fielding was largely poor. Disappointed didn’t sell out. The positives: despite pretty much throwing it away I couldn’t take them celebrating at our place - so will take a tie. I thought gleeson did better than I expected (one of those no-balls was a scandal). Tim David looked good. Phil salt looked good.
  7. Fair enough. Only in the world of Blackburn Rovers does the kid of truly terrible owners running the club get any credence. Not only that but with the bar set so low it sounds better than what we have. Ps. My dentist is a family run business I just hope they don’t let their 5 year old daughter have a crack at me on my next visit because she’s family. 😜
  8. Can we not just keep him. Sounds ideal better than anything they’ve ever managed to appoint in 12 years.
  9. If he gets anywhere near a senior position it’s nepotism pure and simple. It would be quite the CV. University graduate, few summers working on the chicken farm, executive of a multimillion pound football club.
  10. I’d personally never give anyone that bares the family name a fresh start under any circumstances. He’d have to earn respect through consistent impressive actions and even then, perhaps unfairly, throw in an apology on behalf of the cretinous members of his family that came before him. Through skim reading a few pages I’ve gleaned this lad is educated, but in what subject. Is this guy a financial wizz from oxbridge or just a lemon goofing off doing media studies or something at a former polytechnic for 3 years on the family rupee. I agree a direct line to Pune towers can only be a good thing but be careful who you trust, particularly in that family.
  11. It’ll have little impact on season ticket sales I’d wager will just mean more walk ons for that game. I fully expect the club will be all over it to try and drum up interest in season tickets. I suppose they could appoint a decent manager to drum up interest but as that hasn’t happened yet it’ll be unlikely now.
  12. Someone was telling me about the Asian talent finding programme last night. My first reaction was why bother. Nearly 40 years of watching football and a continent of 4 billion and there’s perhaps been 3 ok Asian players in my lifetime. Park at utd, the lad at spurs, then struggling for another one. If it helps the Asian community of east Lancs to feel part of the club and putting bums on seats then great. But as a talent finding exercise it’s a total waste of time.
  13. Can’t beat a bit of schadenfreude
  14. Have they gone down 2 divisions? Super David Raya making sure.
  15. Just goes to show that the rumours around early March time that they were looking to replace Mowbray were total bollocks. They only make decisions when they absolutely have to. Often too late and always wrong.
  16. It was embarrassing. Celebrating promotion like that from division 3. What made it worse after the initial invasion they announced over the tannoy if fans went back to their seats the players would come out to celebrate. Followed by 2 more pitch invasions. Rovers fans didn’t invade the pitch after either promotion to the prem, after winning the prem, after winning the league cup but there was 2 after getting promoted from division 3. It was embarrassing even being in that division let alone celebrating it in that way
  17. I think it’s fair to assume after nearly a month after Mowbray said he was leaving (not that I believed a word of it) and 2 weeks after the club formally acknowledged he was leaving no movement on the managerial front. It’s clear as day they had no contingency plan for him leaving let alone a shortlist.
  18. About 15 years ago they had a stat it split the top flight into north and south Liverpool would be in the south league. Next season if Luton went up they’d be in a theoretical north division. 🤮
  19. Agreed. I couldn’t stomach another nothing southern club in premier league. Bournemouth, Fulham, Brighton, Brentford are division 4 clubs. Add Luton into the mix I might spontaneously combust.
  20. Only the rebellious ones. 😉
  21. The Italian one is good but the instrumental bit reminds me of keeping up appearances every time I see a passionate rendition at the rugger or footy I can only picture mrs bucket with a feather duster cleaning a phone. Personally I like french although I’ll add the caveat they are my most loathed nation.
  22. They’ve done it every major final I’ve ever seen them in. Think it all stems from Hillsborough and a perception of the establishment vs the scouse nation. This perceived scouse not English mentality. Or to put it another way the self pity city
  23. Steve Cooper, Mark Robins, Craig Bellamy, Gary Holt, Sami Hyypia, Gregory Vignal, Tony Pulis, Graham Westley, Micky Mellon, Dave Challinor, Dean Keats, Fabrizio Ravanelli, Paul Jewell, Tony Philiskirk and Rob Edwards. The Venkys have only ever appointed useless managers so for all the talk of farke, dyche, Carvalhal if anyone believes they’ll appoint anyone half decent I’d be prepared for a lot of disappointment.
