It’s so sad to witness his decline as a player whilst simultaneously becoming a household name. Before becoming a gun for hire his first class average was comfortably over 40 last time I checked it was in the 30s having barely played. Still his bank balance will look good and he will still occasionally put some bowling attacks to the sword.

Re this point I think its concerning he’s once again oblivious to the damage done by his employers in the past and something like severing ties with such crooks would go a long way to healing some of the wounds. They’re small points but I feel they help explain the larger issue of him totally misunderstanding the needs of a sizeable portion of the fanbase and botching a lot of things like selling tickets and reengaging with lapsed fans. When kids are acting up banging on, end up saying stuff like there’s a reason why you have two ears and one mouth. I think Swag would do well to take that on board more listening to fans and less spiel. Either way keep up the good work. I’m sure you could prove to be a valuable link with the ivory tower and us plebs at the bottom.

It’s refreshing to hear how one of these tete-a-tetes went without all the cryptic remarks and secrecy. It doesn’t allay my fears one iota. It’s always been abundantly clear from those who speak to him he’s got sorcerer's pinwheels for eyes but the fact remains on his watch time and time again the running of the club is a disgrace. The season tickets are always a shambles, we lose academy players for gratis, his own search for a new manager and subsequent transfer dealings have been a shambles, the ground falls further into decay (although I gather they have at least had the foresight to open a fresh can of paint) and in spite of his “nothing to do with me gov” attitude to the training ground if he has his way there would now be houses on the training ground, and several more failings on his watch and under his instruction. As for his apparent surprise at Glenn’s meetings with the fa, the premier league and subsequently MPs occurring that’s at best misdirection and at worst an outright lie. At the 2-2 friendly at Bolton he was in and around the corporate bit and someone I know made that exact point to him making saying that for all things are bad they’re not Kean era bad citing those things. His response was something to the tune of things that happened before he arrived out of his control. That's fair enough and it’s very plausible he might well have forgotten a random conversation but are we supposed to believe during his tenure no one has briefed him about the exact goings on during his paymasters reign, that’s simply unbelievable.

It’s not the fact he’s been relegated it’s more the fact people seem genuinely giddy about the prospect of merely being linked with someone. It’s incredible peoples standards have fallen so low. 9 days to the start of the season we’ve merely been linked with a player who sounds like he might be slightly better or slightly worse than nyambe. I’m sure street closures for the mass celebrations will be announced imminently. With permanent signings and loanees we still need to replace Nyambe, Rothwell, Lenihan, van hecke and khadra and that’s just to reach parity with last seasons squad. By any definition the transfer dealings this summer have been a shambles. If this signing happens and we don’t lose anyone else we still need to sign at least 4 players to effectively break even. 🤣. You’ll not believe me but before the Venkys circus rolled into town I used to be an optimist.

Don’t get me wrong I’ll celebrate with the best of them. Only when there’s something to celebrate. The possibility of maybe signing a bloke who got relegated with Barnsley and whom might be slightly better than nyambe isn’t enough to even crack a smile.

Ultimately another day passes and still no signings. But even so there’s the faint sound of champagne corks popping because we might be linked with a bloke who got relegated last season with Barnsley.

It’s probably better to think of Swag as more a con-man than CEO. He preys upon fans loyalty and the uses the power of persuasion to take advantage of unsuspecting fans by telling them everything they want to hear. There’s no shame in being fooled by him. Con artists often prey on people’s trust and willingness to believe what they wish was true. For all those who have had one on one meetings with him, or group meetings in an environment of the trust or fans forum and were impressed by him. Just ask yourself what if anything he said that you liked actually came to fruition. I’d wager nothing. Or alternatively considering everything that’s happened on his watch pleases you then for the love of god raise the low bar of expectations.

Great things are happening at this club. Not on the pitch but behind the scenes just wait and see. I can’t tell you what though because it’s a secret and I pinky swore with Swag that I wouldn’t. Just wait and see. If only you knew The only issue is these sort of claims have a shelf life. I think Darren was the first that I can recall a couple of years ago being throughly impressed with meetings with club officials. What happened next - naff all. In 12 years the Venkys have only appointed people who are within a range of totally useless and bang average. It remains to be seen how the new broom gets on at ewood but with the way it’s becoming more of a shambles with every passing day I’d suggest nothing has changed.

Going to take something special to beat the savile lovers from here. Parky only three and Hartley two overs when they were the most economical. 🤷‍♂️. Shame don’t have our 2 mercenaries playing. No doubt saving themselves for the 16.4.

2 weeks until the start of the season and not one single player has been signed. Considering the players we’ve lost I’m in full on panic mode. I was under the impression broughton was bought in to sign players and jdt to coach them. Now we’re after appointing a head of recruitment. Looking like another classic rovers shambles. The former has also gone very quiet. I imagine he’s in a corner of a room curled up in a ball rocking back and forth saying what have I got into here. Considering we’ve never been able to get the most basic aspects of running a football club right I feared this dof model was a bridge too far. Jdt asks the head of recruitment for a player, who asks broughton, who asks swag, who asked that Pasha, who daren’t wake the owners with such trivial matters.

In terms of priority for away tickets as a non season ticket holder I’ll be astonished if I have any problems getting tickets to any away game this season let alone paying the £15 loyalty tax as well. In fact since letting my season ticket lapse around the Kean days there’s only been a handful of games I’ve fancied going to (usually around 15 ish a season) that didn’t go to general sale. One was Luton, one was afc Wimbledon which sold out only to be rearranged for midweek and then went to general sale anyway and one was fleetwood where we ended up going into the hospitality. This 1875 membership shite is just another way Swag can squeeze even more out of people.

First of all what is yous? Second of all how did any of that detritus today reconcile with high press or high intensity football that jdt has mentioned? We can all make excuses and in the grand scheme of things today isn’t important but you’ve got to admit today was dreadful. Did yous even watch it?
