  1. As a kid I used to enjoy doing the sticker books trying and failing to fill it (although have a fully completed italia 90 esso coin collection somewhere in the loft). Doing swaps on the playground/class, desperately searching for some randomer like Ludek Miklosko while having several baggios or Maldinis. So I thought would get the young un one. Did not think that one through. Forgot there’s a ludicrous 32 teams and with 20 players each, pics of every crest, pics of the stadia, etc, etc, it’s about 700 bloody stickers. That’ll no doubt cost me a pretty penny. The World Cup and euros should go back to 24 team and 16 or 8 teams respectively, if for no other reason that the kiddies have manageable sticker albums.
  2. I work with a lot of nob end and your token Man U/Liverpool and now citeh fans. My morning had been identical in terms of questions. I said it’s nowt to do with me and I’m facing tougher questions than the manger ever has. I also just say it’s a project, move on, we go again. One said “project? I thought it was a journey”. Absolute bozo the last man had a journey this man has a project. I mean honestly keep up.
  3. Same here. I think for me I could move on from him slightly (not the result that will take longer) if he just said something like I thought I’d try something to catch bonleh out but I got it totally wrong in terms of tactics and personnel. Now he’s doing a Mowbray-esque shrug of the shoulders we go again, I’m thinking does this man know he’s even cocked up, does he know and doesn’t really care, is he too stubborn or arrogant to change errors. Behind his charming shit eating grin alarm bells are sounding.
  4. Why don’t you take personal accountability for tactical fuck ups, much like your predecessor
  5. Much like his predecessor I suspect the manager got himself all in a tactical tangle. A half baked theory here, a random experiment there which lead to him not being able to see the wood for the trees.
  6. Everything that happens is on the Venkys. They set the tone from the very top. They’re bloody useless and they employ a string of useless people. Then over time we laud mediocrity as if it’s worth celebrating because things might be worse. They didn’t play nor did they chose the ridiculous tactics but the whole rotten saga is on them.
  7. Luck. Luck which will run out and we’ll see where we end up at the end of the season. With the tactical brain of jdt I’ll wager you bottom half.
  8. There’s a few at ewood from boardroom, to manager to some of the players absolutely stealing a living.
  9. Nothing is ever straight forward for any English team in any sport but this should be in the bag with some sensible batting. Unfortunately we have a history of being complete bottlejobs when it matters the most across the board in various sports and eras. Most recently yesterday vs Samoa in the rugby league.
  10. Happy England are chasing. England have the best batting line up, Pakistan the better bowlers. If get azam and rizwan cheaply that’s a big step.
  11. IF loons ever get around to appointing a proper ceo people will be astonished by how bad swag really is.
  12. I’d trade them all for a win in this but out of the 5 fixtures have an interest in this weekend (rugby league, Clitheroe, rugby Union, cricket and rovers) first blood has gone to bloody Samoa, 2nd defeat of the 5 for Clitheroe v leek. 🤦‍♂️. England will beat Japan in the Union but a grim start indeed.
  13. He got outmuscled for the West Ham equaliser but by and large I though he looked really good up against a Prem attack. Decent distributor too
  14. Few stinkers in there. Rashford and Maguire being one. The old adage folk used to trot out of if they’re good enough to play for United then they’re good enough for England just doesn’t apply (if it ever did). It’s the only reason I can see those two were selected.
  15. Quite a weekend of sport coming up. Rugby league World Cup semi final vs Samoa on Saturday, rugby union vs japan Saturday, t20 cricket World Cup final vs Pakistan Sunday morning, rovers at the dingle dome Sunday afternoon. A rare quadruple on the cards. If Carlsberg could do weekends….
  16. I fear it’s going to be 1992 all over again
  17. Comprehensively beating this horrible Indian side in Australia with neutral Australian spectators in attendance in a semi final is pretty dam good even in a lesser format.
  18. As a side note what a crap stadium. We stood in the top tier (well not really a tier as shared the same concourse) but the bit that was separated from the fans at the bottom by the enormous no man’s land, such a poor perspective on the game. Ran out of Amstel so £6.80 for a fosters and toilets barely fit for purpose. Naff all in the way of pubs or anything near the ground, big shopping centre aside. Wembley esque queues for the tube. If I supported West Ham I’d be gutted to leave Upton Park for that soulless dump.
  19. That’s a decent effort. I was literally just wondering how many had been sold and as get most of my rovers news from this site thought it would be referenced. The price is right ticket wise, new ground for most and usually get decent followings in London anyway vs being a midweek league cup with the main event on Sunday, reserves probably playing, loom of mick lynch deciding they can’t be arsed and it’s wet. Rovers fans are an inscrutable bunch. This evening could be anywhere from 300 to 3,000 with no rhyme nor reason for it.
  20. With the saying of after the Lord mayor’s show, I doubt if there one for events leading up to it but this would be it. I’ve no doubt this will be a reserves game for both sides but after the previous fellas attitude to cup games I’d really love a proper cup run (just terrible timing). Also my mate reckons pints at the London stadium are £7.60. So most supping will defo be done pre match.
  21. Reading some of their post match comments posted on our championship thread it seems they’ve definitely figured him out and quickly as well. Telling folk he’s a working class family man was enough for plenty here but it’s clearly not washing in Sunderland. Waffle, deflection and never taking personal accountability. If they’re sharpening their knives now then I can’t wait for what happens after the post Xmas death spiral. With some of the incendiary remarks he made here and got off I hope he gets some grief up there.
  22. Just reading that first page alone I had horrible flashbacks. He’s obviously trying the same tripe there that worked for him here. Working class, honest family man. It won’t cut up there. 🤣🤣🤣. Then reading a few of the comments he still doesn’t do tactics, bigs up the oppo, still very tedious and chucks in his meaningless platitudes like we go again. That’s just from the first page. So glad he’s their problem now.
  23. To echo all the above I’d play the reserves and rest all first xi players for Sunday. As far as the squad goes there’s plenty of outfield talent to play the one glaring position of very very low quality is pears. He’s one of the worst goalkeepers I’ve ever seen including opposition keepers. Probably the largest gap in quality between first choice and 2nd choice in professional football.
  24. For those going the rail strike has been canned. Well for now anyway.
