  1. It is rovers. If there’s a stupid way of doing things they’ll do it.
  2. 5th highest first innings total in a losing cause. 1st: Bangladesh 595 v nz 2nd: Australia 586 v England 3rd: Pakistan 574 v Australia 4th: Australia 556 v india 5th: New Zealand 553 v England Also in terms of records most boundaries in a game with 250
  3. Incredible win. 160 to win off 38 overs. So little over 4 an over. 60 runs off the first 4 overs after tea.
  4. The more I think about it the Venkys + swag + a rookie dof + a fairly green manager (if it is tomasson) + existing underwhelming coaches = disaster.
  5. Worrying philosophy. Play the game and situation that’s in front of you. This England side will lose far more trying to recklessly chase wins. Phrases like “play more shots” and “positive cricket” fill me with dread. Exact opposite of what Crawley needs to do. And Bairstow. And Stokes. How about phrases like play the situation, occupy the crease, bat time are what I’d like to hear in test cricket. There’s 2 other formats for the other stuff. By and large done well this innings but had so many let offs slogging. About 5 top edges either been dropped or fallen kindly.
  6. Stupid from stokes. It’s not t20. Long tail and he’s just given his wicket away slogging. Got with 2 including one a couple of balls earlier.
  7. The most surprising thing about reading we have a new head of marketing is the fact we apparently already had one. This Greg Coar must have been utterly useless.
  8. Keep your head down, shut up (except when paying lip service to the owners) and get paid bags of cash for a job role you haven’t ever done. He’ll fit right in I’m sure. He may well have good intentions of progressing the club and not just looking after number one but I’m sure they’ll get him out of those bad habits soon enough.
  9. Listening to his interview Gregg “the vision” Broughton sounds no different to any of the other snake oil salesmen we have now and before in my opinion. Doesn’t even talk a good game just nonsense about visions and his time at a club that no longer exists and a club that had 3 relegations. My job is to implement the will of the owners tells me all I need to know about this bloke.
  10. Speaking of cryptic good things to happen comments, what ever came of the fella along with his quegs alumni who said something to the tune of exiting things were imminently about to happen. That must have been 18 months ago so presumably nothing came of that either. Lots of folk over the years have tried - glen and his crew, the rovers trust, that fella with his quegs mates, probably more. They all care about the club and are prepared to try but the one thing they all have in common is they’ve failed to make meaningful change. The reason is the owners are incompetent, arrogant and simply couldn’t give a toss.
  11. They’ve sold 12,000 I think I read, also think I saw to date Rovers have managed little over 3,000. So I fear the reality might be nearer nob end have sold quadruple the season tickets. That’s just shameful.
  12. The statistician on TMS said that of batsmen with more than 20 tests, Crawley has a higher % of caught behind square than any other player. 20% of the balls he faces, he either nicks or plays at and misses and from the 29 innings since his 267, he’s been out for single figures in 18 of them. Unfortunately his main scoring shot is a high risk shot and he’s not very good at it. A big issue for him going forward. If he addresses the shot that mostly gets him out by putting it back in his locker it’ll dry up his runs.
  13. I mean, Crawley, come on. The guy has some talent to get 250 in a test but I can’t remember there ever being a player who falls to a plan so regularly.
  14. Almost certainly the most successful club in this division. About 10th in the whole country.
  15. Another week comes and goes and the circus are yet to pick their clown.
  16. A win tonight would be phenomenal. 17 points pretty much guarantees the quarters and 16 pts more or less sees teams through. IF Lancs win that’s 13pts at the halfway stage. I see Buttler is still not bothering with Lancs. Resting from the IPL presumably
  17. Mowbray has left the squad in a mess. The new manager is already running out of time to make it a productive summer and the likelihood of said manager being some untested lummox like drunken Duncan. There is little reason to be optimistic.
  18. His CV doesn’t read too bad to be fair. Will this guy break the Venkys 100% record of employing halfwits. We’ll see…
  19. I’m sure it’ll be in keeping with every single appointment they’ve ever made. Utterly horrendous.
  20. Excellent win considering can’t bat. I love the fact they got the runs in sufficient time that the crowd get refunds. Not too shabby at £150 a ticket.
  21. I’d love him to put waggott’s head in between two slices of bread and make him say I’m an idiot sandwich.
  22. As an accumulation of events over the past 12 years and considering the managers who were allegedly interested in the job appointing drunken Duncan would also be the final straw for me.
  23. Bairstow getting bowled through the gate. AGAIN. He’s fucking shite at test match cricket. He must average less than 5 vs the straight ball. Same with Crawley nicking off wafty drives.
  24. Probably 100-150 too many for this England batting line up.
