  1. I saw a stat about England that there’s only 5 countries that have beaten England more times than England have beaten them. Obvious ones of Germany, Italy and Brazil. Then a random one in Uruguay and very bizarrely also Romania (bloody Neville). Can at least put that right this evening and put it back to 4 countries.
  2. England haven't batted in the spirit that the declaration was made. New Zealand wanted to win and risked the draw. England want the draw. That’s not to say England should bat recklessly but surely can muster a run rate of at least above 2.
  3. Be careful what you wish for Tonebola. I’m convinced a combination of his fragile ego and no fans inside the ground is a reason he’s still here. Without fans he’s able to just carry on in his own little world moving the goalposts as he goes.
  4. England 9/1 Nz 4/1 Draw 1/3 All results in play. Should be able to see out 75 overs but with the batting quality might have a 4/1 punt
  5. Fair dos to NZ making a game of this. Wouldn’t be surprised if skittle us.
  6. He got peoples backs up a bit for saying after a Bolton game something like the atmosphere was poor considering it was the main rivalry. Great way to demonstrate knowledge of the club paying your wages and a little dig to boot. To me he represents many a top player north of the boarder simply not good enough in a proper league. sorry wrong quote.
  7. I’m not particularly seeing any player either just one that lurches from total incompetence that you’d expect to see in the non league to one that goes through a purple patch of the standard you’d expect of an average championship player (not forgetting during these lofty periods he still can’t really score) but after which he’s heralded as being more than he is. Of course at 22 he can improve and shouldn’t be judged as the final product but he’s got a long way to go to even be considered an average signing. In the worst ever signings thread roversreturn gave his criteria for the worst signing combining fee, performances and consequences and 100% agree with Davies as the worst would then include grabbi but when you consider Brereton- £7 million, mostly useless on the pitch and transfer embargo resulting from his exorbitant fee he definitely deserves a mention. The fact he’s currently on international duty with Chile is one of the most bewildering things I’ve seen happen to a rovers player in a long time.
  8. Look a bit light at right back. Need that Aaron Wan-Bissaka as cover I think.
  9. Yeah a classic case of Mowbrayitis overthinking things.
  10. Which will then be dismissed as nothing more than an effect of covid.
  11. I think bolton as a football club are in a far better position than rovers. Better financially, United fanbase, heading upwards. Wouldn’t be surprised if this time next year they’ll also be in a higher division.
  12. I for one like hearing what people think they know from what they believe to be reliable sources. Whether it’s transfer rumours or changes of personnel even if it ultimately doesn’t pan out. I get 99% of my rovers news from this site. Whether that’s the equivalent of these young uns using Facebook/Twitter for their main source of news I don’t know but saves me going on to the club site or the propaganda rag the LET. Hopefully one day rovers will be more of an open book where fans feel part of the club again. One thing I have heard from what I believe to be a reliable source is rovers know what next years seasons ticket details will be price wise but are waiting until the right time. I told this person for what it’s worth unless they make them pretty much free or coincide them with Mowbray’s sacking the take up will be as poor as it’s ever been.
  13. Don’t do it to yourself lad. Over the last 6 months I’ve convinced myself of various things signalling his end. Ultimately Mowbray is like the terminator. Just when you think he’s gone he comes back stronger than before. He’ll be back soon harping on about his journey, giving a thesis on why it’s not 1995 therefore he’s doing well and how we can’t possibly compete with Peterborough with their momentum from league one. oh and defenders are coming. Naturally
  14. No Maddison. Potentially still injured.
  15. No way Ben Godfrey or Ben white will make the next cut.
  16. I’d even settle for somebody random out of the phone book that won’t talk as much shite as Tonebola. Mowbray hadn’t exactly set a high bar. Well bank rolling league one in order to force our way past the mighty Shrewsbury to a runners up position aside.
  17. It might do his reputation harm if he performs for Chile how he performs more often than not for Rovers. There will be a lot more scrutiny for Argentina vs Chile. Seems a player massively affected by confidence so could get ridiculed and comes back a damaged man (more so). Considering the good spell and the bad times at the moment on balance he’s still a 7 million pound flop. Only really getting game time because of 1 the poor options and 2 Mowbray owes game time in order to try and justify him not wasting money. I really hope he does well as seems a decent lad and it’s not his fault Mowbray wasted the kitty on him. But this is one of the most bizarre things I can remember happening to a player at ewood.
  18. 🤣. Most sensible reason for this I’ve heard so far.
  19. The more I think about it I’m shocked he’ll be an international for a decent ish team. He did really well for 6 months at the start of the first lockdown last April either side of that he’s looked like a pub player. If he was upset by a few murmurs of discontent from the partisan rovers fans at St. Andrews good luck dealing with the South American’s if he flops for them.
  20. Chile are scraping the bottom of a deep barrel here. But if he plays as a striker who knows how he’ll get on.
  21. Mixed feelings about forest gump winning another major. Still view him as a cheating yank after his us open shenanigans. Either way the American fans once again showed they don’t know how to behave on a golf course
  22. https://www.melbournevictory.com.au/news/kean-pleased-impact-youngsters King rat working his magic at a club that’s come 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the last 5 years. Really dont know why I’m doing this to myself. But what a bullshit artist the lip licking snake still is. Not won in 7 losing 6 and 10 years on he’s still banging on about pointless stats like corners and box entries. While creating theoretical scenarios of what might happen. Always developed young players in his career. Who Steve. KEAN OUT The truly sad thing is had a season of similar nonsense from the current incumbent.
  23. Shaping up to be the best squad we’ve taken to a tournament since the 2004/2006 era. Sadly I think there’s an absolute dud in the managers seat. Plus with tournament pressure and England’s capacity to bottle games against any half way decent opposition I’m guessing this’ll play out exactly the same way as every single tournament in my lifetime. If memory serves if we win our group we’re due to play France or Germany or Portugal in the first knockout round. At which point I fear it’s the end of the line even though on paper I think should beat Germany or Portugal
  24. Darren stevens is still some player at 45. Currently 190 not out off 148. Put on 166 with Miguel Cummings who’s contributed 1.
