  1. New owners. Mowbray being sacked. Waggott being replaced by people who know how to run a football club. They’re all lovely dreams but that’s all they are dreams. I’m sure we all know come august Mowbray will be in the dugout, the Venkys will be in India in full control of the club and swag will be residing over the whole shambles. Recent rumours about Mowbray leaving - he’s making plans for next season. Earlier this season there were rumours that swag would retire at the end of the season - he’s very much here. A few seasons ago there was rumours about some Qatari outfit interested in buying rovers - the Venkys still very much here. None of the good rumours come true.
  2. I think regardless of what people have heard on the rumour mill if he’s still in charge this time next week it’s time to abandon all hope of him leaving. If the club are smart they would simultaneously sack him and release season tickets details on the same day. Might get a spike in interest before the next underwhelming appointment.
  3. Well wake up day one of close season and he’s still here. I can see this turning into a summer of hoping he’s going on a daily basis then disappointment. I do really hope they are all going. As a pessimist I just can’t see it. I’ll stress I know nobody whatsoever at the club and anything I hear is 2nd or 3rd hand but 2 things. First, I know someone involved in one of these fan groups who has dealt with swag and he says Waggott seems increasingly disinterested and instead of dealing with groups individually just wants to lump everyone in together in one hit. Reading between the lines that could point to a man who knows he’s on his way out. A positive. Second, know someone who knows Greg coar who would be very surprised if there’s any change. Now would a marketing bloke really know the workings of the inner sanctum. I doubt it. (As a side note Greg coar-head of commercial and marketing what does that man do to justify a wage.) Even if there is plans to dispose of them today, tomorrow, next week, etc, the timing would still annoy me because they’ve allowed Mowbray to plod on for months in zombie mode whilst the new manager could have been evaluating his players in competitive games. Then if they go will they be replaced with enough time for the new manager to sort the disjointed mess of a squad Mowbray leaves behind.
  4. In a season Tonebola targeted the play offs we finished 15th 20 points off the playoffs coming closer to relegation. That’s the biggest take away for the season. A dull and tedious journey perhaps as boring as the man himself. So boring he was barely able to stay awake some games. Teams had figured us out well before Xmas but still persisted with his pointless defender based possession football. This season was some of the worst football I’ve ever watched. The managers trademark defensive incompetence continues. As does his tactical absurdity, playing players out of position and more often than not made a load of substitutions that made us worse. He took us to within a couple of games of a club record worst run of form. All the while Kean levels of waffle coming out of his mouth. A man so arrogant and stupid he believes that results don’t affect him and doesn’t bother looking at the table. The journey, attacking platforms, box entries, Brentford model, just the tip of the iceberg. The excuses-covid, injuries, officials, pitch, expectations, performance not results based manager, only lost narrowly, better side, irrelevant favourable stats. Off the pitch the CovenTrio tried to flog the Crown Jewels. The Venkys are as disinterested now as they ever were. £200 million in debt and counting. Plus a fanbase that’s shrinking on a daily basis. The most depressing thought is that Mowbray will be gurning his way in to the 2021/22 season.
  5. Even in that scenario still 5 points off the play offs. Again no where near.
  6. Turn 5 draws into wins we’d have finished 10th still 10 points from the play offs. No where near the play offs.
  7. Play offs were the aim lauding mathematically staying up with 2 games to go the reality. Yet he’s still got some people fooled. A chancer if ever there was one.
  8. Well the official end to another tedious season under the gurning tosspot. I really hope that was his last game. If he leaves tonight he can at least say we’re slightly better than where he found us but I suspect he’ll want to go full circle and put us exactly where he found us.
  9. Absolute rollercoaster down there. All 3 up at one point. If only seconds for Wednesday
  10. I agreed with your hypothetical scenario. If we lost 5-0 and Mowbray went as a result that would be the best day for any rovers fan.
  11. Might be more of those cardboard cut outs than fans next season if the status quo remains.
  12. On another thread someone posted the wages to be fair both on £3,500. Still scandalous.
  13. Fair assessment. I’d probably go with a 1 for Pears only for the clean sheet vs Middlesbrough (more to do with their wastefulness) had clangers in the other games. Calling a spade a spade he’s Mowbray’s equivalent of a myles Anderson signing but to make matters worse he’s actually played, cost a fee and out earns Buckley, JRC, Dolan and Travis.
  14. From a personal point of view on the plus side I earn more than some of the Rovers first team squad on the downside I actually earn it. Assuming that’s all accurate whoever put that giant oaf Gallagher on £15,000 a week needs sacking. Dolan on his £600 must look at him and think this just isn’t right. Evans, Gallagher, bennett, on a combined £37,000 a week. Then the Middlesbrough mafia pears, Ayala, downing £32,000 per week. Sickening.
  15. Just highlighting one random post from k-hod back in October 2019. Just let that sink in OCTOBER 2019. Nothing whatsoever has changed.
  16. With all this who said what and when I picked a few random pages to read on this thread. Started on page 1 then jumped to the 70s 80s, then every 100 or so pages out of the 600+. It’s the same concerns, the same old problems. Any of the early 2019 pages could have been written yesterday. Now just without the tiny but spirited defence of Mowbray. The manager hasn’t learnt one god dam thing in all his time here. It’ll be the same 2022, 2023, 2024 as long as this chancer wants the job. In one of pages Mowbray was off to India and there was genuine hope it was the end. Alas it didn’t. Folk giving him to September, to Xmas, to the end of the season. There was talk in 2019 of pointless possession, strange substitutions, players out of position. In a way it’s galling some (albeit not on here’) still don’t see it. One of the random pages I read in the October 2019 vintage was someone saying how cringeworthy it was having the thread titled Mowbray out (presumably after a couple of wins and clearly it was changed) so can I put a motion forward it’s changed back to its original more suitable title MOWBRAY OUT. 😄
  17. Tricky chase for Lancs but looks like they’re not going to die wondering 6.4.44 this over.
  18. If Tonebola still here by the end of next season wouldn’t be surprised if they’re in a higher division the season after.
  19. The problem with the 2 division format is too many games are irrelevant and most farcically with 8 teams in div 1 and 10 teams in div 2 not every team played each other twice in div 2. A similar nonsense in the blast format. Another thing I like is the continuity of fixtures. Baring a couple in July every match starts on Thursday and finishes on Sunday. Know exactly where you stand particularly when can start attending again. There as one season where lancs played one or two county championship games that coincided with a weekend.
  20. Yeah the “top 6” fans spat their dummies out over their respective owners (some have been great for their clubs) having 2 days of nonsense. Try it for 11 bastard years causing irreparable damage.
