  1. I just can’t believe Mowbray will be gurning his way into another season.
  2. The Venkys, kean, Jerome Anderson, Agnew, Shaw, shabby, coyle, that bloke who went rogue requesting his own pay rise hunt was it, Mowbray, waggott, and many more. They’ve all taken their toll on rovers fans. Now a shell of a club where at best can hope for apathy towards them interspersed with bouts of outright hostility.
  3. They’ve pulled the trigger before I have to believe for my own sanity they will do again. Although I appreciate their last golden boy who shall remain nameless was allowed to walk. So hopefully with the fans in (how many are left is another thing) giving him both barrels he’ll think sod this back to boro.
  4. For the last 18 months I’ve said given enough time Mowbray will leave us in exactly the position a Coyle left us in when he took over. I think this will be the season. Bottom 3 by December and sacked, followed by a month to find a replacement as it’ll be such a “shock”
  5. After Armstrong goes and there’s no signings I think the odds will come down. Then during Mowbray’s first august-September death spiral we’ll be odds on. Im not convinced we will go down. Hopefully the pre Xmas new manager bounce should be enough.
  6. Relegation is 8/1. I was expecting about 3/1. I’m sure that price will tumble when lose Armstrong.
  7. 👍. Millwall are leaving announcing those match details down to the wire then.
  8. Are away fans allowed in to championship games this season? Seems a strange question considering 5-7,000 Leeds fans will be coming to ewood tonight but I can’t see any details for millwall away in 2 weeks time.
  9. Just flicked on to the cricket channel lovely to see the ground about 4/5ths empty. Do they not know that “every ball counts” and “it’s cricket as you’ve never seen it.” 🤣🤣🤣 Another thing that annoys me about this 16.4 is that every other format is compromised by the ecb scheduling internationals during every single county competition (not least of all the quarter finals of the t20). Lancs/Yorkshire, for eg, never ever play any game in any format with a full strength side. With this shite no clash whatsoever. So there’s no real cricket or international cricket during the prime weeks of summer.
  10. Decent away kit tbf. First passable thing the club has done in years. Obviously a bloke pushing 40 isn’t their target market but I like the arte et labore on the back and the rose superimposed on the black. Still don’t particularly like the home kit even though it’s basically the same style as I expect more rigidity in terms on honouring tradition. Ie halves always reversed.
  11. I’d love it if just one Lancashire player or any high profile player had said I’m not pimping myself out to this nonsense and I’d rather play proper cricket for a proper county instead. Even if it was a player unlikely to be ‘drafted’ anyway. I view the 16.4 not so much as another format of cricket but something in direct competition with real cricket. George Dobell hits the nail on the head: https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/want-the-truth-about-the-hundred-it-s-smoke-mirrors-and-gimmickry-1270805?platform=amp&__twitter_impression=true&platform=amp&__twitter_impression=true
  12. They kept claiming full house the other night. Mentioned every other breath. Turns out there was 18,000 at the oval, so that’s 1/3 empty. Albeit 18,000 more than I’d hope for. Goebbels would be proud of the propaganda aimed at this 100. I think lancs have sent me double the amount of automatic emails promoting the hundred than anything else.
  13. I didn’t even want to be included in the viewing figures let alone attend the 16.4 but I stumbled onto the cricket channel yesterday. The quality of cricket, the graphics, bloody awful. On the graphics, I don’t understand why they don’t have the score on half the time, but cycle between that and runs needed, with wickets on the other side of the screen. I struggled to work out the state of the game when I initially turned it on and it’s not exactly new to me! Simply cricket 😂😂😂 In hosting this the ECB have tried to totally destroy the 50 overs competition. But more gallingly they’ve given it prime cricket months resulting in the final county championship game being played in October. Could literally play this crap, t20 included, in December. Clear the snow away and crack on. The ecb have had some money to throw about. They’ll never compete financially with the IPL so given this a go. With the money wasted if they’d just given it to counties in the blast to attract better calibre of player we would have at a minimum surpassed the big bash. Ultimately what’s the 16.4s usp 20 less deliveries. 🤷‍♂️. Tradition and history matters to me for teams I support so the Manchester mercenaries playing it’s a big no from me.
  14. I’d definitely given that up. 42 off the last 3 (1 over left). 👏 👏👏. Shame lancs see it fit to have us playing home games in modern Cumbria historical Yorkshire but as nice as sedburgh is with Paul Allott no longer in control I imagine it’ll be the last there.
  15. I agree. Bristol rovers would be blue and white quarters. Blackburn rovers are blue and white halves reversed. Or at least we used to be.
  16. It’s a fairly inoffensive kit. I don’t like disregarding tradition like this and some recent kits have done nor do I like the collar. But it’s no longer vile like that one we had where the logo looked like the top profile of a toilet That said I don’t like the lighter blue ones so the colour looks about right could still go darker for me (will reserve full judgment until see it in the flesh). In terms of commercial success would I buy one. No not at any price as a bloke in his late 30s. So I’m not their target demographic.
  17. In spite of the bad press they get I think those lateral flow things are very good. I have to get tested Monday, Wednesday and Friday at work and I know you can get 2 ‘positive’ lines with lemon juice, lucozade, etc but a month or so ago to my surprise I tested positive on one. So booked a proper Pcr test which was also positive. Didn’t have one solitary symptom before, during or after. If I hadn’t taken that lateral flow test with what I initially had planned I’d have been spreading that all over the shop. Even pre vaccines from everybody else I know who’s had it in my age range with no health issues symptoms range from nothing to at worse a bad hangover but it’s never been about us it’s more about not giving it to people who are more vulnerable. So as things gradually get to normality have to hope the general public are able to do the right thing. Do tests with or without symptoms before events. I have my doubts people will though.
  18. Rihanna in concert won’t be cheap. Half joking aside I really don’t know. In spite of the costs of developing the ground they still proudly announce profits. Pains me to say it but I look at how Yorkshire do business with a good core of local lads with a quality permanent signing year after year after year. Who have lancs signed Jennings and Buttler in the last 10 years, other than the overseas lads. Then adding to that activity losing decent players like Davies and Clark (who admittedly isn’t pulling up trees at Surrey), they couldn’t even turn Hameed around in the way notts seem to have done.
  19. If someone was that way inclined if you register those lateral flow tests at home can enter whatever result you want anyway then scan the test barcode thing as confirmation. Re fylde it’s just occurred to me that although I did a lateral flow test at work the Friday before nobody asked to see it on the day.
  20. https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/alex-davies-to-trade-lancashire-for-warwickshire-at-season-s-end-1270250 “Warwickshire are a massive club with a proud tradition of winning," Davies said. "The Bears squad have potential to win trophies and I want to contribute to future success.” Ouch. He’s not wrong though. Over the past couple of decades lancs have been unsuccessful and unambitious to match. Whichever way look at it I reckon this is one of the biggest kicks in the teeth had for a while. Those quotes must hit hard and so they should.
  21. I really hope it falls flat on its face. Had the 16.4 Manchester mercenaries propaganda bus parked up outside OT yesterday. https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/the-hundred-2021-with-friends-like-these-a-hundred-reasons-why-the-ecb-has-failed-the-game-1269911?fbclid=IwAR0egECsnAiW1qqkSjjCBb2JxA-cMbj7iMJ2_bOFOHXd08M3B1a4WmXNR-g
  22. Just watching that Croft ‘run out’ again. Even having fallen over with they way Yorkshire were fumbling around with the ball without the cramp he could have got up and got in I reckon. That said I’d have ordered the keeper to whip the bails off. I don't want anything from them. Brennan cheated Lancashire before so it’s not beyond them. On the commentary that prick butcher needed to wind his neck in a bit he might have run him out himself but accusing croft of faking cramp is a bit much. He needs to get his guitar and naff off back to Surrey.
